I said in this vid that the packs cost me around 20 bucks, but now that I think about it, I think I paid about $250 CAD for 20 of them, so they more like $12.50 each. He looks for deals like this and passes the info on to us.
I got these 7 or 8 years ago and they still are pretty good at about 145whrs each, 36v 18650's - 10s2p for each pack. I put 8 packs in each battery and I ran one battery alone until completely dead and it delivered 1150whrs.
The trolling motor is a 24v minn kota riptide but I applied the 36v battery (42v fully charged) to the trolling motor and it did work, but I couldn't use high throttle, especially when the battery was at 38 to 42 volts. When the voltage came down late in the day (about 35v from the battery) I was able to use most of the throttle.
Even when the battery was delivering 42v, I could still get 500 to 600 watts to the trolling motor and all was good. When fishing while trolling, you only use 50 to 100 watts and when cruising 350 watts was fine. 500 watts was not much faster than 350 really.
These 2 small batteries of 1150whrs and my 2 extra packs should give around 2.6kw/hr. That is easily a full day of boating. I doubt I will use the golf cart batteries anymore.
