I had this game as a child. I was born in the mid 70's, so that was a few moons ago. I played it a lot, but never got very far. I think I just enjoyed the music, and that I why I'd pop it in lol. When Jason would show up, I would panic, and end up dying after the second or third encounter with him. I don't think I ever made it to day two. After watching all of your runs, it kind of makes me want to start playing it again, now that I know how the mechanics work, thanks to you. GG, man!
Thank you, that's great to hear! One of my goals with the Advanced Guides was to break down the game in a way that someone who has never played it before could watch the series, and then pop in the game and beat Jason. Finding out he had a set path, or that he could be completely blocked on the lake, all of that stuff was mind blowing to me!
@@Airmaximas No problem! I was hooked on this game as soon as I heard the cabin/counselor select music. It’s somehow creepy and soothing at the same time!
Jesus, nice run. Watching you some time ago practicing, when I had a chance to play the cart at a party, got to Day 3 for the first time and choked in one of the last battles. Yeah, my hands were shaking and sweating all crazy town. Of course it took several tries to get there as I don't practice. I just remembered some of your strats, not all. Didn't go particularly fast but when they work, damn good strats. Day 3 is brutal.
Thank you! Your windows are so tight on day 3, so it can definitely be a pain. If you ever have any questions on how the game works under the hood, I'm always happy to share what I know!
congrats zero!!! omg that day 3 was stressful to watch 🥶. someday i'd like to learn to understand exactly what's going on in that run because that was way over my head!
Thank you! Day 3 is very addictive. Like most games, there's so much that gets ignored in Any%. If you ever decide to give these categories a go or have anything particular you're wondering about you know where to find me. I'm always happy to share what I know! 😀
@@ZeroThe14th You know all about this, but figuring out Jason's flight patterns are the key to a good speedrun. But I always get the torch the hard way which brings my numbers down. I'll try your way next time I try.
@@CGMedia2023 Yep! It took me weeks to figure out a good pattern for path fights on all 3 days. Cabin fights are easy, but they take so long. Good luck!
If you pass it to someone who hasn't killed enough zombies to spawn items, yeah. Each counselor needs a different number of kills to start spawning (George is 2, Mark and Crissy are 3, Laura is 5, and I believe Paul and Debbie are 4, but I might be wrong about the two of them). It's a nice little way of using the game mechanics to prevent that horrible knife spawn on a path fight!
Not in this category. Perfect Games are just beating the game without any kids dying, or any counselors (active or inactive) taking damage. It would be fun to try and do one with Pamela though, I spent so much time working out her patterns!
@@hhh123837 The torch does the same amount of damage as the pitchfork (1 bar of health per hit), it’s a lot faster though, so you can get more hits in on paths. You can kill Jason with any weapon, even stones, it just takes longer (5 stones per 1 bar of health)
Yep! A Perfect Game means no counselors (active or inactive) take damage, and no kids die. Counselors will start taking damage when there are 40 seconds left on the timer when they're being attacked, and Jason will start taking care of the kids at 30 seconds left.

I haven't missed a single Friday video, even if I miss the streams. Love the passion for this classic
Thank you so much! It's become an obsession of mine over the years, if that wasn't obvious 🤣
Amazing job man 🔥fire🔥speedrun! Congratulations 🎉
Thank you! This is a great category
No idea how I ran into this run, but incredible gameplay and *nerves of steel*!!! An extremely stressful with brilliant execution on your part. Wow.
Thank you! The nerves are definitely real, but I’m hoping that they’ll eventually go away after I get enough Perfect Games 😆
"With greed comes stupidity." Applies to more in life than perfect games.
@@leroystokes8501 So true!
Wow, just wow. One of the more impressive speenruns I've ever seen.
Thank you! With the right RNG it can go even lower, but that's so many resets hoping to get the right seed 😆
Love this game played it as a kid thanks for the run and bringing back memories!

I like how Jason scrams like, "Eh, gotta go peeps!", on the overworld, lol
For someone that big and scary, he can really be a coward 🤣
I'm wearing a Friday the 13th shirt while watching this, my friends got it for me as a gift.
Can never go wrong with a Friday the 13th shirt! I’m wearing one right now too 😆
Amazing job @Zero the 14th. Keep up the grind!!!

Thanks! There’s nothing in this game quite like getting a Perfect Game!
Good stuff.

So if you pass off the torch, it eliminates knife spawns?

Does perfect game also mean no kids die from Jason?
