I just beat this game on the Switch Collection. I struggled so much on Yellow Devil, much more than any other bosses, so I wanted to check if I was doing anything wrong. Boy was I here for a treat.
Something about the heights in Mega Man that got you so nervous. Games today don't have that same feel if your jumping high up. The fear of plummeting off a block was captured so well.
I didn't know you can cancel knockback with select. And also, the fact that you have to pull of the magnet beam glitch in elec man's stage consistently is kinda insane. I can barely even press down + shoot on the same frame.
It's actually only one shot hitting multiple times. You know how when you hit a boss, they become invincible for a little bit? That's because there's a timer that runs after a boss gets hit. That timer doesn't stop when the game is paused with select, so if you unpause after the timer is finished and there's a piercing weapon like thunder beam touching the enemy, you can hit the enemy as many times as you want with a single shot as long as it touches the enemy
So funny to hear you complain the whole run "it's stil okay" "I might get a PB at least" "it's still close to my PB at least".... and this is a world record run :D

I bought the new re-release from 2021 plus I got Sega Genesis Mini that got that game pre-installed ⭐️ I wish that all 6 Mega Man games for NES got remaked for Genesis, not just the 3 first. There's two game series that really deserve more commercial success: Mega Man and Metroid.

By pressing B on the last frame that a thrown block leaves the screen you duplicate the block. It's frame perfect
