      @@georgebasister1929 sure I know the concept of grannys raising grandchildren [for a while - e.g. during school breaks); maybe even sharing a bed - but this 'sleeping together' would certainly stop around the age of 6 or so. her grandson is an adult. my grannys would have never suggested something like that. up to which age do you consider this fine?

    6:28 compounded by 6:59 family lets alleged 'amnesiac' grandma (and her daughter?) sleep with a non-related young man who she falsely considers her grandson and
    7:48 adult son asks his mum to let him sleep with her
    please, can someone be so kind and illuminates my limited European mind and explain this behaviour? any notion of sharing a bed with my mother beyond the age of five or so would have been considered strange, let alone with my grandmother.

    • @ysaquill6049
      @ysaquill6049 5 месяцев назад +7

      Cos it's fine? Everybody used to sleep on one mat since infanthood. Owning a private room for each child is for people with lots of money and a big house.
      Also, that stranger is a guest brought by their son, he's vouched for. We tend to not let people we don't trust (or not close with) get that close to our beloved elders. So if he's there, he's okay.
      We respect our elders, in extension, our friends' elders so grandma is safe with him. Making a guest take care of our own is kinda no no because hospitality culture but I think in this instance everybody understands considering grandma's condition.

      i actually slept with my parents until they divorced when i was 15. now I'm 23, living separately but whenever my mum visits me, we still share the bed. i also sleep beside my grandma when i visit her. I can't speak for everyone but i think it's pretty normal for middle to lower class people who grew up in big southeast asian families to share the bed with other family members.
