It got cancelled because it's from china and china government(?) is homophobic i think(?) and this series got sooo popular that they need to cancel it. We bl fans know that china doesn't make bl's only bromance. (I think if this series got more popular the country will make more bl but as the government doesn't want that they cancelled it. This is the legendary BL series, Addicted. If this was not banned by the Chinese government, this would have been the biggest and most ambitious and bravest BL series to date.
Update: thanks for the likes. Just thought of this, those who already read Book 2, can you imagine how grand and huge the production would have become if it didn't get banned and had season 2? We'll get to see jet fighters fight in the sky and military barracks scenes! As I said, the best BL we didn't get to see the ending. 😭
I guess it would still come to this moment. The storyline itself tells the hidden issues in their military. However, the novel is definitely a masterpiece. For once, I wanna see Jingyu and Weizhou acting the wedding scene at the end of novel. That one last kiss. Arghhhh.

This was my first BL series. I was with them every step of the way: beginning to unfortunate "ending", all of the fan edit, BTS, fan service, I watched it all. I also cried with them. And ever since then, I never really gotten to complete any other BL series, this just blew me away and no other series could ever do the same.

This series would have been really long as the novel is long too. They only did the first part and stopped at the part where BLY’s ex girlfriend showed up.
I love Addicted; it's my all-time favorite BL series; I had to read the novel just to finish it since they canceled the series. They were stepbrothers though they didn't know it yet in that scene.

This series will always have a special place in my heart. Though it ended abruptly, I am glad that for these actors' respective careers, it was just the start. I am happy that Huang Jingyu and Xu Weizhou are now popular actors in China.
Of all the BL series that I have watched, this one is best. The casting , the songs / OST ( listening to the songs feels like there's a lot of memories attached to it I can't exactly remember) , the chemistry of the main characters. I really miss them, please comeback very soon our Gu Hai and Bai Lou Yin!
It's crazy how this show, incomplete thought it was, was so influential and so impactful that it simultaneously kickstarted and ruined these poor boys' careers. i'm glad to know that they're doing ok on their own, but it would be incredible for them to be able to meet up as friends once in a while, NOT for fanservice or anything, just for the fans to see them being friends publicly. I did hear that they're making a season 2 with a different cast in taiwan, so let's see how that goes

It just two books and 15 episodes are based on first book, the producer plan to make 30 episodes but only stream 10 episodes on mainland while international fans can watch the whole 15 episodes
The reason this BL was so successful even being cancelled was because the fact that they were Gay was almost non important in the story. How complex both guys were and their difficult personalities and temperament was the main focus of their relationship. The fact we all knew they were each other type made it more interesting not to mention the actors took their job seriously and did amazing with no romantic cheesy acts nor exaggerating anything.
I'm reading the novel. I'm on chapter 137 and still yet no one defines itself as gay. Actually it is very clear that they are straight boys having a gay relationship. I don't like that too much to be honest. I feel betrayed as a gay man. Why do many of BL series still have a fetish about straight men? The word "gay" is never mentioned. I don't like the way Gu Hai describes Yang Meng either. He has a toxic masculinity. He wants to have sex with BLY but at the same time he is the kind of guy who probably dislikes effeminate men.
Sorry to tell this their relationship is slightly toxic😅

Well actually in season one they’re actually supposed to make three episodes and they were actually planning to do a season two but around that time there was a rumor that Timmy we’re secretly dating one of the cast in the show who role playing his girlfriend in the series they were even like screenshots of them texting but all the screenshots were edits and it turns out Jimmy’s account got hacked and someone try to make up a rumor that he hooked up with Johnny Which it wasn’t true and I also got a little update on the cast apparently Timmys getting married soon

While re watching this i just realized that Gu Hai came off quite dominate or domineering with Bai or no ?? He definitely was jealous and possessive of him !! Like he only wanted bai all to himself and look only at him .. gu hai was definitely a character but that's what made him likeable because atleast he was honest from the first day they meet and especially with his feelings for bai.
since it was banned and the series was unfinished .. read the novel .. book 1 and book 2 their story is hella roller coaster.. heart wrenching but at the end it is the most satisfying best bl novel!! whoaaa i missed haiyin..

This is the best BL I've ever watched. Its just sad that this stopped immediately
I believe there are two reasons that get this drama banned.
First, this drama has implied adolescent sex. The leads are supposed to be high schoolers.
Second, government officials are portrayed in negative light. The more dominant lead has frequently resorted to using his father's influence to get what he wants. His violent acts see no repercussions.

It's a pity that the Chinese government closed this series, I read on Wikipedia that the series was a legendary success. In reality, China has huge potential, the series, without exaggeration, turned out to be a cult one, the actors are very cool. It will always remain in my memory, even if it doesn't have an ending.
