Don’t take my comment too serious, I love what you did, it looks beautiful! I was just thinking: why do we all work so much on the nursery before baby comes although we know we won’t spend much time in there anyways in the first months? 😄 What I SHOULD have done is: create storage boxes for toys in the living room because yes, there are gonna be a lot of toys, create a spot for dummies or other important stuff that you’ll need every day but lose every hour of the day 🙈, buy an extra large drying rack… I had a beautiful nursery and a very chaotic apartment in the end. 😄
I remember doing the same thing. And here we are 33 years later. My son is a grown man. Wishing you all the happiness in the world with your baby. Cherish the small moments...Time moves quickly. Savour it all.
I keep coming back to see if there is any news. 👶 Wishing you and Robbert all the best. If baby is here, I hope you all are cuddling up and settling in comfortably.
The room looks beautiful. I used my nursery a lot. I had a comfy chair for breastfeeding and everything at my fingertips. I also kept a book beside me to read while baby may have been feeding or sleeping on me because there are times they like to be held 💕🐨💕
Lucy, the nursery looks perfect! You and Robbert have such excellent taste. It is so calming and comfortable. Now, all that is needed is THE TINY BABY! 👶❤
You’re so beautiful in pregnancy :) congratulations on your wee one! The nursery is absolutely beautiful. Dreamy. I wish you strength and rest in these early days ❤
We did a woodland theme for my son’s nursery, and we have so many of the same things! We have the same mobile, animal and egg corn baskets, and play mat! Our sons were actually due the same exact week, but my little guy came early, so he’s been here for nearly 6 weeks now. Your nursery looks beautiful! 🦊🐻🐰🐿️🍄🪵
The least safe way to have a baby on the changing table is sideways to you Lucy, they so easily roll over the edge! Better with a changing table where they lie face away from you/bum towards. Just a tip from a mum who almost lost a child to sideways facing changing tables. Good luck to you both!
I’ve been really enjoying seeing all the prep you are doing for your baby. I love the theme and all the decorations! So happy for you and your husband!
I love the art! Reminds me of the pictures and books of James C Christensen. I can recommend his book Voyage of the Basset. Lovely fairytale and art style.
Congratulations on the baby! ❤ When I saw the artwork you chose, I imidately thought about the Swedish artist John Bauer. Check him out if you want. Have the coziest time with Floris!
I love how you didn't go for usual 'cute creature with big eyes' for the art! I grew up with Claude Ponty's illustration and I get so anoyed seeing the current state of kid's illustration... (I say that as an illustrator my self)
Ha Loepsie, ik zag in het begin een naam? staan op het krijtbordje, wilde je daar even op attenderen voor het geval dat een geheim is. Mooie kinderkamer en fijn derde trimester nog!
As a parent, I see a few potential ... regret points... there, but that's life, we've all been there. It looks gorgeous and the child is certainly going to be a wonderful human being, even if there was only one acorn and nothing more, as he is already loved :)
I don’t like mobiles. A few years ago I have heard babies don’t stop crying when put under one because they like it but because it puts them into a freeze state. To them it looks like flying predators circling above them so they need to be quiet to not be eaten. I cannot unsee that and since we can’t ask them what they think at that age I won’t put one above my baby :P Maybe when they are older though.
Another thing I found out is that there are better versions of mobiles. Mostly all of them can be looked at from the side but never from underneath. From underneath you can’t tell what it is. I once bought one from IKEA and it was attached differently so my son could actually see the rocket, planet etc. Also, it’s a good idea to hang it above the changing station so that baby is distracted and stays still while the nappy is being changed. They can get VERY active and difficult to be changed.
What a load of hogwash. I have used mobiles and now my grandchildren have them and they are actually good for them to focus on as they are developing their sight. As babies grow, eyesight improves. By the end of 3 months, they can follow a moving object, are more interested in shapes and patterns, and can spot familiar faces, even at a distance. Babies do not understand complex emotions such as being scared. Children don't start to develop fears until around 2 years of age.... Are you talking about chickens? because they know to be quiet for circling predators 🤪
The best thing in this space for baby boy is the love emanating from every magical touch. ❤ I wish you every happiness and health on your new journey.

I spent a lot of time in my nursery with each of my children. My babies slept in their rooms from about 12 weeks once they outgrew the bassinet.

How would a baby know what a flying predator even is?
