she can write 1,100 words in 45 minutes and i'm here struggling to write 1,000 words in 3 hours.
dreammmsss s it takes me at least 2 days to write 1,000 words...
It takes me 5-6 hours to write 500 words.
Your not crazy for doing this. This is smart and very good practice the exam. Yeah there is a difference in writing essays on paper vs exam.

Since quarantine started, ive had 0 will to do anything and im falling behind on my assignments, but every time you post, it makes me want to work hard so I can go places like u have, so thx for the motivation😊
I don’t know if this will help but I am bored so I’m going to share it anyway. If you are falling behind, make a to do list - either using an app or just on paper. You need to put every assignment on this list. Organise your list by subject/topic if you want to. Now you need to set a goal. It should be roughly what you would do in a day if schools were still open. Note: this goal should be measured it how much work you do, not by how much time it will take. Then choose things off the list that you feel like doing in that moment. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t reach your goal. Something is better than nothing.
I totally get it! I was homeschooled even before Quarantine, but for some reason ever since the stay at home order I have been so much less productive!

Do you write essay?
Honestly besides the 'writing whatever in x hours/minutes' that she does which is of course not the best tactic,I do love how she presents a healthy relationship with studying. Like no matter the stress or deadline I've never really seen her dealing with university as a chore or seeing it as burden,she seems genuinely interested and happy with her course. Idk it has become a trend to complain about uni and it's fun sure but I appreciate when people make an effort purely for the love of the subject. Idk if that made sense in my head it was more straightforward

I’ve actually been thinking about writing mock essays and watching lectures for my upcoming literary theory class. I know that I have a lot to improve on when it comes to essay writing and incorporating evidence so.. I might just do this! Honestly, I've always found practice exams to be the best way for me to practice for exams. I am (was omg I just graduated) a biochemistry major in the US and I would never feel confident for an exam unless I had done a lot of practice questions/essays.

Vee! Since you struggled with time maybe you could use the DICTATE function on Word. Then you will get through it faster and get more written within the time limit. Not sure if that helps as it is hard to just give an ORAL essay.
Technically you did do the essay in 45 minutes. You were writing for 45 minutes and talking to us for a few minutes which took some of your time. You got this V!

I have a question: are you given the essay prompts before the exam? Or are you given a completely new topic on the day? And would you need to quote and reference research and studies?
When I did my undergraduate, I almost always wrote exams like "right now I am writing a sentence (Author A), however others may disagree that this is actually a sentence (Author B)." Silly example, but I referenced authors in brackets. I got a 1st so this method worked for me.

Hi vee can you do a video on how to write a oxbridge personal statement as im starting to write mine and im finding it really hard
hey! here are some of my top tips.
most importantly, the admissions tutors want to see passion for your subject, so the MAJORITY of the extra-curriculars and achievements that you mention should be directly relevant to your subject.
80-90 per Cent of your personal statement should be academic. keep mentions of non-academic extra-curriculars to an absolute minimum, as oxbridge want to see a keen aptitude for academia.
also, please don't lie on your personal statement!! should you be invited to interview, your personal statement will potentially be an onus in these discussions and as such, you will be questioned on what you have mentioned. the admissions tutors really do not like to question a student only to find that they have not read the book which they claimed to have loved on their personal statement.
finally, have confidence! it is not fair that some students should feel at a disadvantage if they originate from a less wealthy background or attend a state school; vee is undoubtedly such an icon for promoting access to oxbridge. have confidence!

@@katieboyle8085 great advice, but I don't actually think it's true that the personal statement should be 80-90% academic. I got in with my statement being about 60% academic and 40% extracurricular because they closely tied into my subject. I think it should be unique to each person as long as the subject is being prioritised
Fall_Out Boy nah for oxbridge they do like it to be mostly academic, they don’t really care about your extra curriculars if they’re not directly relevant to your subject

It's not bad to do a practice essay, don't feel bad, no one is judging. In fact, if you go into an in class essay without writing essays in preparation you are kind of setting yourself up for failure

I had my final German exam today, we had to write about 1000 words. We had 4 hours time tho but my hand hurt so so much afterwards as it was handwritten and the actual writing part was like 90 minutes

Hey I just watched your video on studying/ prepping for an exam when you've got 80 days before you sit for the exam, where you talk about the repition method. You explained it perfectly but my issue is, I do 8 subjects and I've tried to breakdown the days on how I can do 10 days on each but I've failed tremendously😕... Can You please HELP ME?!?! 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
Do you listen to music/instrumentals while writing and, if so, do you also listen to the same stuff while doing your exams? I find that I get into the zone a lot faster if I am listening to lo-fi etc.
