I guess I'm not the only one who thinks that the topics you are working on are extremely interesting. I would love to watch videos of you explaining shortly what have you learnt. Love your videos and everything you do❤
@@yoopally4136 on accounting? I only study basics of accounting for a half year, but how do you write a paper on it?? ( I mean, in my head it is something you do, not write about it)
It all comes with practice after all. My course has like no essays at all so it takes me days to write and ages before then for planning for something like 2500 word essays
I think it’s so interesting that you write your introduction in the beginning because I live in Germany and my teachers always tell us to do the introduction at the very end haha
You are my life-saver during my essay crisis :””) It would be interesting to watch you explain and break down your full essay from introduction till conclusion. Sometimes, I am struggling to write a well-flowing essay. Good luck on your final year!! xx
I have literally binged all of your essay videos because I’m applying to scholarship rn, you are such a huge inspiration!! Beyond that you are so genuine and charismatic, you’re a joy to watch!
Last year, I had to write two assignments for my PGCE and Manchester academic phrasebank saved my life! I'm not a native English speaker so this phrasebank was really useful :)
Am i the only one who gets super duuper excited whenever a new video notification from this guurl pops on my screen ? 😍 also veee , can you make us a video about how to be confident n talk in public? I adore you keep shining dear
Vee, when I was doing my MA in Classical Studies for two years at the Open University, it took me such a long time to write my introduction of 2,500 word essays because I did not have much practice writing essays in high school and while I was doing my BA in Classics at the University of Ottawa in Canada. I had the tendency to describe and narrate instead of argue.
Honestly your channel gives me such inspiration, Vee. I'm not even in a social major (I major in Math so obviously I wouldn't be making essays every semester, let alone every week lol) and lately I've been struggling with my dissertation. Years of my Math major has not taught me how to write a good essay so recently I've been feeling very overwhelmed by doing extensive reading and then confused on how to write it all down because it was such a jumble in my head. But Lord knows how, the RUclips algortihm recommended your videos to me, even though I've never searched about essays on RUclips before, and since then I've been watching your videos to get me motivated to keep on going with my work. Thank you, Vee, and I hope your channel grows big and to inspire lots of other people :)
For a topic you said you weren’t excited to write about, it seems you have managed to capture data that is well put together and, I’m sure, proved more interesting once you’d finished. Well done Vee ... it sounds like a good read!
I wish I had a "title" or something like that for my essays... in my Brazilian Literature classes I "basically" just have to do an essay about 7 pages long by the end of the semester, but there´s not really a question to be answered, which makes it quite hard for me at least... =\ (But I do have to say that your videos makes me wanna do random essays just for the sake of doing it haha)
Great job! I bookmarked the Manchester Academic Phrasebook. You have a very strong introduction. I would answer the essay question using the letters of Paul in the New Testament.
Oh wow, that phrase bank is a god send. I can't tell you how many hours I have lost on papers just trying to figure out how to articulate a fully-formed idea I just hadn't yet put the words to. Same with introductions--those used to take me ages to do. I eventually got into the habit of basically breaking down the question in my head, but without consciously realizing what I was doing. I'll be using the tip for actually writing it out on paper to break it down once I have to start writing papers again.
okay... I don't know how to say this but I've been watching videos on RUclips for about two nights now, trying to figure out how to come up with sub-questions on the main question that was given. BRUHHHH, this helped me out so much... idk what to say.. like wow. Thank you so much
Love all this advice. My 4000 word report is due next week and I only have 300 words and 400 words of planning (using your red purple method) trying to get it done but I have so much other work due next week too.
I have been watching your videos just for personal liking while I never have to write an essay. Now, my very first constructal essay has to be hand in for my end mark, and I know that you are the right person to help me with it. Thanks, Vee!!!
How have I never heard of the Manchester phrasebook before now in my third year of uni? Got an 3000 word essay due in tomorrow that I'm only just starting, because I clearly hate myself, and I will definitely be using the phrasebook now!
It has been really helpful. Like yep, the video was long, but I watched all of it because it was meaningful from start to finish-sort of. The fact that I'm comenting now during my very own essay crisis is another story... But hey thanks to you I'm not in a real real crisis as I set a fake deadline two days before the real one to have plenty of time before handing my essay in. Seriously, thank you.
You're so inspiring!! I've been learning English since I was very young and one of the things that I'm not very good at are essays. In my country the educational system is so bad that we don't learn how to write an essay. My english class is the only place where I have to write essays. Normally once a week about various topics, and about 90-120 words and in the test about 160-190 w but I always ended up writing 210 words lol
While the essays for my major are quite different than yours I have still found your techniques really helpful and also your essay crisis videos are really motivational. I love these essay videos please keep making them next semester!!!!!
This was incredibly interesting - I'm a second year student at the Uni of Manchester and I had never heard of the phrasebank!! So definitely shared it with my friends
Wow! Thank you very much for the reference to the Manchester page. I've been teaching English as a foreign language for 20 years now. And I feel I need to refresh the skill of writting essays. You are just in time!
This is very helpful, thank you! What I struggle with most in writing essays, is coming up with a topic to write about, as we're not provided with a standard question. We're told "by the end of the course you submit an essay of 3000 words, good luck". Now I do really like my courses (medical ethics, for example), but there are just TOO MANY options. My head is all over the place and in the end, I just can't choose. How do y'all do that?
The Manchester Phrasebook seems to be a really nice thing! Definitely going to check that out for my first seminar paper that I'll write in English. If you know other good recourses please share them with us if possible!!
Could you please do a video about preparing for oxford interviews? I have them next week like most people and I am very unsure about it. I've applied for Oriental studies (Arabic in particular) so if you know anyone studying it would be really useful!
Watching these videos help me calm down and get it together. You’re out here saving lives! I’m currently approaching an essay crisis but it’s gonna be FINE!!!

I think it’s so interesting that you write your introduction in the beginning because I live in Germany and my teachers always tell us to do the introduction at the very end haha
Skyla Endless I think it depends on what the subject is, with science research almost everyone does it at the end
We do it in the states too
I've been told that in a British university too (my prof was Canadian tho). I actually work much better writing the intro at the very beginning
You are my life-saver during my essay crisis :””) It would be interesting to watch you explain and break down your full essay from introduction till conclusion. Sometimes, I am struggling to write a well-flowing essay.
