    Ride along as we check out some of the finer details on this classic steel mtb from Kona bikes. It is a Hahanna from the mid 90's stripped to raw steel and then varnished. It has been converted to a 700c fixed gear trick bike AKA FGFS. lots of interesting bits on this conversion.

    Great looking bike, a Kona MTB fixed gear is pure awesomeness - but IMO half link chains suck. I've tried a couple and they all stretch like crazy...

      There are heavier-duty but yes that is a propensity.

    Don't get though touching every part of the bike with the magic tweezers, wassup' widdat'...?

      Turn on closed captions. I describe every part in detail, and the pointing goes with the description.

    4:28 possibly for mud prevention as well, mtb tires throw a lot of mud on the rear facing ST slits

      Very good point. That didn't occur to me. Of course grime will always accumulate on top of the collar, but at least it's less of an entrance point.

      @@TheUndeadMechanic with big knobbies and wet offroad its a very real issue and can make seatpost very sticky

    how fast is the handling on that Kona compared to other 90s mtbs?

    Put drop handlebars, call it gravel and sell it for $3000 or more
