It's great for us who can't or aren't brave enough to venture out in the world like you do to show us what we're missing out on life. Thank you for taking us on your fabulous tours!
One thing I like about Vietnam is that it is a great inexpensive exotic vacation (not biased because I am of Vietnamese descent). I have not been back in almost ten years since Asia is such a big continent, and my goal is to have my passport stamped with various Asian countries on every page. I traveled alone, and I had no agenda when I went to Saigon. After a few days in the city, I was bored and noticed a lot of foreigners standing near a bus depot. I inquired and found 3-day trip out of the city to DaLat for $40 with transportation, hotel accommodations, and breakfast! You can do whatever you wanted during the daytime. I visited a zoo, rented a day moped and rode it all over the city. It wasn’t as congested and crazy as Saigon, so I wasn't intimidated by DaLat traffic. I came to the US when I was around six years old so I speak Vietnamese like a 2nd grader. I can understand when spoken to, but my thoughts are in English, and I translate it back to Vietnamese. Like others, growing up in Orange County, I spoke a mixture of “Vietglish” which consisted of 50/50 combination in a sentence. I truly was lost-in-translation. It was an amazing experience to learn my heritage and identity. That trip opened my eyes, and I wanted to see more of Asia!! Thanks for sharing your experience which brought back memories and I think it is time for me to go back and visit other cities such as Hanoi since I like their Bun Cha! I love the t-shirt!! Keep Traveling because life is too short to stay in one place!!! - Tom
You're totally right. Asia is such a great place and it'll really open your eyes if you're from the west. I've lived and traveled here for 3 and a half years now and I still can't get enough. Just wanna keep exploring while I can. Tom, thanks so much for commenting and sharing your experiences. Take care. -Kevin
I had many lives and many masters, being Vietnamese is one of the many lives I have lived on this Earth. My curiosity has taken me to many places, and I called them all home. To be a well-rounded soul, you must have empathy for all walks of life. Live, Learn, Grow
Another Awesome video. I can't stop watching just like the food ranger, the both of you have excellent videos. You have earned a life time subscriber for as long as you put these videos out I will watch.
Easy, did it as a student. Sleep in 24h mcdonalds(with earplugs) or chill with hobos in warren street/hyde/regent's park, eat £3.5 pasta/asian takeaway/kebab, take the boris bike to go everywhere, use disinfectant and wetwipes to clean body and smell treat your clothes. Done, even have spare money for tea and sweets.
+Stevie Willers that'd be nice, but running out of money at the moment. RUclips ad revenue is too small right now, but if it keeps growing, hopefully some day I'll be able to travel and film for as long as I want!
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Ernest Casey i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hey Kevin! Been planning my budget trip to Ho Chi Minh and this comes in very handy! And bravo for your trips in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. You covered most of the must-visit places with just $20! Love from Cambodia,
I haven't been back to my Saigon since 2007 and I can see it's grown so much. Kudos to those who opened businesses to tourists, it looks booming. I have to go back soon.
From my month travel through south Vietnam I can tell its easy to keep on $20/day or less budget nearly all the time! I didn't even stay at hostels - look for Nha Nghi - guesthouse prices differ from 100 to 250K VND per room depending on location and your negotiation skills. Rooms have TV, fridge, kingsize bed, wifi, just it's not as fancy as hotels. If you travel in two you actually save more than in hostel :) Furthermore nearly all the time I had rented scooter 1400km in total :) for 100K/day if you're tough negotiator and rent for more than week. Eating seafood every day..but you could have streetfood - usually pork cutlet with rice and soup that comes in a plastic bag for 25K! Banh mi - OMG this thing you can have never enough price 15-35 K depending how rich is the stuff inside but always yummy. Also as a person coming from country with best and cheapest beer I drank it constantly as the price was same as home, dont worry about scooter riding and beer there is nearly no police..just stay away from Mui Ne, there are cops constantly stopping foreigners trying to find some way to make you pay..even though I had no international driving license it cost me just 1,2M VND and I could continue on my way :) Also when you see some locals in restaurant drinking home spirit they brought themselves in plastic bottles don't hesitate to have some with them. If you're lucky as me they invite you home and and eventually sell you some really bargain! The most friendly people I ever met, off course be aware of scammers in tourist places. Viet is just one great country, recommending to everyone!
Keep up the good work bro! u showing us the true meaning of whr there's a will, there's a way! U hav been to delhi but wud like u to visit more indian cities like mumbai, bangalore, kolkata and chennai
Recommend: put the date at the show for when video, how much the currency exchanged time after time. $5/day of what day? And if you have the address would be helpfully and you May earned Refered commission too.
I will visit Ho Chi Minh Vietnam this December, I hope I can do less than $20 dollars expenses hehehe, have to be thrifty so I could buy "pasalubong" (take home goodies for family and friends)
Thanks so much for this video! My boyfriend and I are moving to Vietnam in a couple of weeks and were planning on having a daily budget of $20 per person each. It's awesome to know that you can do so much with so little. How did you get around the city? How much do you think your transport cost per day?
+steffedy I walked everywhere. But you can take a cyclo (little push cart with wheels attached to a bicycle) for a dollar. Best of luck in your Vietnam journey :)
I'm a Vietnamese and you should have bought a boba (bubble tea and its really good), also bahn me sandwiches are the best. the one I saw on the vid didn't look as good though
No, I quit. The reason I took so much time off uploading was because I was teaching. Now I can focus all my attention on what I really love: traveling and filming!
5 years of work after I graduated university, and now I partner with local companies to help make my travels less expensive. I wouldn't call it vacation because I'm filming and editing and responding to comments 7 days a week. It's more like combining business with travel :)

A little money, a few week's time, and a lot of energy. You got those things, you're good.
Wow - don't even know her name yet and she is talking "Pho" king!
How much did you pay to enter Vietnam?
It cost me 40 bucks to get a visa. My hostel in Phnom Penh took care of it all for me, too. Didn't even need to leave the hostel lobby!
America is back in Vietnam !
How do you go on vacation for so long
5 years of work after I graduated university, and now I partner with local companies to help make my travels less expensive. I wouldn't call it vacation because I'm filming and editing and responding to comments 7 days a week. It's more like combining business with travel :)
