Loki is not Thor's half brother, because in order for Loki to be Thor's half brother, they would need to share one biological parent in common; Loki is rather Thor's adopted brother who was taken by Odin from Loki's real World of the Frost giants when Loki was an infant.
Im not an extreme fanboy but I realy dont like how they represent Thor in the movies. Sometimes he is shwon very strong like when he smashes the ground in the first movie and everything explodes but sometimes he is totally incompatant. He has a hammer that wrecks mountains and shit and in the second movie that dark elf guy bitchslaps it out of the way like its a toy. For me its just stupid that The mighty Mjölnir is only strong when the plot demands it.
That was Kurse that bitch slapped it out of the way. He is probably Thors most powerful adversary, physical strength wise anyway. Kurse is a beast. You know how many fanboys got off to that?
Im late but thats true but only because he is way too powerful honestly not too many people can really fuck with him he can crack planets with punches and summon storms that destroys solar systems
MIGHTY THOR!! love thor so much, he represents all what it's truly stand for a true divine hero. from the Norse mythology all the up to the version of marvel, he is being 1 of the greatest heroes of my life
Have to recommend the currently running Thor: God of Thunder. The first arc of that book is probably in the top five of any "greatest of" lists involving Thor.
Arris, Great job on the histories! One small thing, the word Corps is actually pronounced core as any US Marine would tell you. Hope this helps and keep up the great work!
richard Sanchez Dude, really, it's Superman. I've heard of a theory that Captain America in the MCU can lift Mjolnir, and will eventually, but he realised he could and chose not to for Thor's sake. If that theory is true, then at least we know Captain America is nice to Thor.
Love the channel. You are doing a great job. Another great Thor suggestion would be a trade from the Walt Simonson era. In my opinion, it was one of Thor's best runs. I love Simonson's character design.
Well in the Comics he becomes Donald Blake a Human doctor. Who has had no Viking training or battles every year for about 700 years. The Movie I think showed a very good fighitng skills as Thor in Mortal form especially since he was going against Shield agents and Strike force members. I think every hero has a weakness and Thor's can be his Hammer. Without it he can't be a superhero and with it he is one of the most powerful. Its the duality of a God figure in Human form. But to me and other Marvel Science nerds we believe he is more like a inter-dimensional Alien. And Magic is just mystic energies that certain people can asorb and use to break laws of physics. i think thats how Tony Stark put it. But all this is just an opinion.
Thor cannot fly without his hammer that is not one of his abilities. The whole reason he is able to fly is the hammer. Odin Force thor Idk probably. But we are just talking about Plain old Thor. He can't sorry bro. And Btw if we are talking about the original Thor he would revert back to Donald Blake. But If you are talking about the closer incarnations then yes he would still have strength and Durability but without the hammer he can not focus what little Odin force handed to him or preform is mystical abilities. It is hinted many times the storm power comes from the hammer, hint Captain america being able to lift it and gain the ability to throw it with summoned lighting surrounding the Hammer. and I don't wanna hear any crap about OdinForce Thor and King Thor Story line. Thats a different conversation.
Youre link proves nothing man it is just say so by other Thor fans and some say he is useless without it. 60 seconds before he is blake and you think he has a enough time to do something? Btw name one original Thor comic while he was the Hero that he didn't use his hammer to create a storm or fly? No odinforce just Thor. Then maybe I'll believe and admit I'm wrong. I promise. I will He still has his strength and durability like i said but at the same time he would revert back to blake without the hammer sometime. Sure the Now odineforce Thor that is separate from Blake his something to not to mess with, but thats not what we are talking about. Btw do you know if Thor still has his powers now after the mantle has been passed to a woman? Not the Odinforce but his powers, other than Advanced asgaurdian physical attributes.
Well They are kinda of messing up some of the good characters. Did you see what they did with Cap? Falcon is replacing him because the formula apparently deactivated and he is now a really Old man living in a home for elderly or something like that. What happened to the 80's and 90's comic theory of the Formula Regenerates like cells so it never dilates?? I don't know what they are doing with Hulk and Iron man but probably something bad.
Michael Chase the hulk is now a super-genius and is probably an earlier version of maestro, and Tony stark wear a new symbiotic armour, and probably evil. and yes Thor can fly without his hammer. mljonir only allows him to fly faster
This was a great episode but as far as recommendations go, I would recommend either ESSENTIAL THOR vols 2 or 3 over volume one! Kirby was too busy and many of the early Thor stories were drawn by Don Heck. E...THOR 2 introduced Sif and Hercules while E...THOR 3 pit Thor against GALACTUS and ADAM WARLOCK (aka "Him"). Another classic Thor story (in 2 volumes last time I saw) is THE CELESTIAL SAGA which told the secret of past Thor incarnations and had Thor meet The Eternals and The Celestials. Everything else he mentioned is good, too.
you should make a video explaining the things you should know about comics for new readers, i am new and every time i go to the comic book store i get confused on which is the first book or something along the lines of that.
Kinda disappointed that he didn't mention Thor being selectively de-powered for the sake, of other characters reputation. Mainly The Hulk. Thor constantly loses to the Hulk for no reason other than to boost the Hulks popularity and lore. Its funny because, "The Man" Stan Lee, created Thor SPECIFICALLY to be stronger than The Hulk. That was literally Thor's original purpose. Now all of these modern era writers constantly humiliate Thor, and basically write him out of character. It amazes me, that someone of Thor's power level, can be challenged by a guy, that punches really hard. It amazes me further that writers still refuse to make Thor the strongest hero in the marvel universe despite that being Stan Lee's original plans for Thor Sorry. I'm ranting. But imo, anytime Thor loses to The Hulk... it is an instance of Plot Induced Stupidity
Ronald M that was later, after writers started screwing it up anyway. He said it as up to the writer who was stronger. But when he initially created Thor, he did intend for him to be stronger than the hulk
AkilTheAwesome Stan established their strength was equal in Avengers#3 in 1964 and Journey into Mystery#112 in 1965. Roy Thomas and Steve Englehart followed that idea and made their battles a draw. It was much later writers that made the Hulk stronger thanThor.
My favorite Marvel superhero ever. The current Thor has the combined powers of the Power Cosmic, the Odinforce, and his own massive powers (including weather powers, super strength, super stamina, super endurance, near immortal but can still die, flight, can throw hammer then call it back).
I would like to know why Captain America is the captain of The Avengers. I get that he was the first Avenger, but wouldn't Thor be the first Avenger if he was born centuries before Captain America? Thor also formed The Avengers, but Captain America is still the Captain... WHAT?!?!?

Its funny explaining to people that other properties can use Thor because he is a public domain character. That just can't model him after Marvel's Thor.
Stan Lee had no intentions of anyone lifting Thor's hammer save Thor himself. To suggest the Hulk's rage can overcome Odin's magic is to believe the Hulk is more powerful than Odin. Ever since the Satanic Pedophiles at Disney took over Marvel, they have done nothing but destroy Stan Lee's masterpieces. Next thing you Aunt May will lift Thor's hammer and beat him in the head with it.
o.O I could have sworn hulk lifted the hammer with his anger in one of the comics Stan Lee helped write but I'm prolly wrong, yea Disney doesn't care lol south park hit it on the nail with that star wars epiaode

I think it would be awesome if you guys did a history of Booster Gold and a history of Blue Beetle
Now we know why Thor wasn't in Civil War. Because Team Thor by itself could have kicked both the other teams' asses.
Saikat Kar he is able to take down rest of avengers team all alone
Moumita Srimany Probably not the hulk. But yeah, I get what you mean. That's the reason those two weren't in it.
Saikat Kar defiantly Hulk. Hulk is not more powerful than malekith
Moumita Srimany And as I remember Thor couldn't beat Malekith one on one either. However, a full force battle between Thor and Hulk would be awesome.
