I was currently watching Saruei's Dark Souls 1 archive, but then I saw the thumbnail for MGR and had to watch this. I'm so happy she loves this! (But I still hope she plays the Devil May Cry games; at least watch the cutscenes and then just play 5.) Also hope someone tells her to use the right analog stick for cutting in BLADE MODE, It'll help in a later fight and getting health and power back.
Chat is so horrible at explaining how to parry. Yes, you do tilt and press x toward the attack. But NOBODY mentioned that you have to stop moving to parry. That's the entire reason why she kept attacking while trying to parry. I had to spend like an hour on blade wolf until I figured that out, then I pretty much no damage'd him.
Kinda funny. I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to video games (unlike Saruei), yet I managed to defeat the robo-dog on first try, and I even play the game on the same difficulty as her.
My Advice when playing this game is run and slice, also Perry if you can when playing Metal gear solid up rising because its hard as fuck to pair the attacks from opponents.
Everyone saying "polearm useless" in the chat has clearly never played the game well. The polearm is perfect for what it is, which is crowd control. Good agains hordes of weaker enemies, like standard cyborgs or the tripods. The scissors are good for massive damage when you are facing one enemy who either is stunned or is slow. The standard hf blade is good for everything else, with most of the other "main weapon" slot blades also working for general conbat, each with their own quirks. The only truly useless weapons in the game are the sais and the hf longsword. The hf longsword isnt even technically useless, there are just always better options for any given scenario.
I feel a lot of people do it on purpose. During some streams ive watched, theres always some jerk who interupts all the punchlines, critical line delivery, emotional scene and twists with a paragraph long TTS talking about something unimportant or some copypasta meme. It really should be turned off during story based games.
