  • Fletch visits the Nethercutt Car Collection and Museum in Los Angeles, where there is something for everyone. The first VW Beetle imported to the US in 1946 and the world second largest Wurlitzer theatre organ. This jaw-dropping display features rare collectables ranging from mechanical musical instruments and antique furniture to the true heart of why Fletch is here - over 250 American and European automobiles dating from 1898 through to 1997. In fact, it features the largest collection of Concours d’Elegance winners in the world, and it’s easy to see why. If you are a train buff, you are looked after as well.
Lori, an archivist at the Nethercutt, who manages all research and restorations, walks Fletch through the Nethercutt collection. Which features a 1913 Christies Firetruck and a restored 1952 Hudson Hornet convertible. In the lower salon is a completely restored 1932 Chrysler seen by Mr Nethercutt as a young man, that he always envisioned owning.
The Grand Salon is the most opulent environment we’ve seen classic cars showcased in the history of Classic Restos. The Grand Salon was specially built from the ground up to represent an automobile showroom of the 10s, 20s, 30s by Mr Nethercutt for this collection of luxury cars. Packards, Pierce-Arrows, Mercedes, Duesenbergs, Lincolns they are all here in the pristine showroom.
Highlights include a 1930 Roll Royce Phantom by Brewster owned by actress Constance Bennett. A restored 1934 Packard Sport Phaeton, one of only five built in the LeBaron body and the 1928 Isotta Fraschini an all-weather cabriolet.
Nethercutt is also home to one of the largest automotive private libraries in the US. With everything from brochures to automotive magazines from 1895.

So sad that you couldn't show more cars. That museum has some of the finest french cars of the era and we couldn't see one.
