I know why you love seeing two men of color as couples; it fulfills your appetite; the MEDIA is one of the major proponents of homosexuality among blacks; the seed, in various forms, is planted when they are very young….There is one African American executive producer who has been given billionaire status because he contaminated two who entire generations of black children. I don’t blame him, he simply knew the appetites and cravings of Hollywood and Corporate America; but the black parents may need be more ALERT & AWARE. I think that Battle of Armageddon, which has already begun, (of sorts) is the only hope for the black people.

Nice to see these couples profiled. We as usually erased from the public conciousness. My Black husband and I were together for 31 years. He's deceased now, but those were the best years of my life. (Second relationship for him; third for me.) Unfortunately, we had no Black male couples in our circle. Rare as hen's teeth.
Back in the day gay marriage was obviously illegal so gay men would adopt one another to establish legal ties. Raymond St Jacques adopted Sterling St Jacques even though they were lovers legally they were father and son. This way if Raymond died Sterling could inherit his property etc. Sterling was only using Raymond as a meal ticket until he found a bigger star to fund his lifestyle. Raymond was heartbroken and left explicit language in his will to disinherit Sterling from his assets when he died. Sterling made a living off his looks and they took him around the world. He was even engaged to a beautiful black model who knew he was gay but fell in love with him. Sterling lived quite a life he was an international playboy who always kept a rich man or woman 😂😂

This kind of visibility goes a long way towards erradicating the homophobia which still permeates so much of the black community.

I get that love is love but seeing these couples is like seeing unicorns! Hopefully more of these sightings will become more visible and help tear down the trauma of homophobia we grew up with from our own community.

The difference seems to be, Gay men are still men, which means Male Homosexuality histories have been written about since Assyrians and Babylonia. Lesbian histories are more hidden. But I was lucky enough to have a starting point by finding a Black Lesbian bibliography book. What's the average time you spend researching your topic per week?
