- Been a while since the last video but for good reason. I've been busy where possible on the layout catching up with lots of unfinished projects. I also made some significant changes to the branch line. The branch line job took far longer than I anticipated but I'm pleased to have taken that decision. Much happier with how the layout is looking now and look forward to progressing with more scenery over the coming months.

I am always just so gobsmacked by your efforts to achieve perfection, another fine video and some outstanding work going on your layout and rolling stock.
I abolutely agree
Same here
Yep definitely!
Everytime I hear "I've changed the branch line" a part of my dies as its my favourite part of the layout.
Then I see what you have done and agree with every single word you say, and the "new improved" branch line becomes my new favourite part!
Everytime he says "i changed the branchline" take a drink XD
Time to stop everything and watch another episode of Everard Junction!
I tend to make sure I've got a coffee and a biscuit.
@@TiberiusWallace I take a bath, prop the computer on the washing bin and relax. Very enjoyable.
I know what I'm doing for the next 36 minutes 😃👍
This is like watching Grand Designs after fitting a flat packed kitchen - its good for humility! Fortunately, the work of a craftsman can be admired by someone with basic skills, even if they can't replicate it. This layout is stretching the boundaries of what can be achieved and is a pleasure to watch.
Hi. Richard great as always mate can I ask what decoders you are using for the branch line?
I think what is most impressive is your ability to evolve the scene in line with your vision and skillset. You aren't afraid to reconfigure and repurpose previous work that cost you a lot of manhours as you know it will serve the layout better in the long run. A very commendable and inspiring attitude towards any project!
The new cutting for the branch line looks so much better. I really like that you've raised the opposite side to match the height of the main line. It shows you're not afraid to rip up hours of work to make something better. Fantastic stuff.
This might be a little sad, but watching this update has been the highlight of my weekend.
its not sad it s just how it is at this moment in time , and time changes
Hey Guy I'm from the United states and I have say your layout is one of best I've seen on you tube better then the layouts here so much attention to detail incredible I look forward to all of you videos just to learn cant wait for the next episode keep up the great work
Nice to see another update. Some great changes done to that branch line, made a huge difference! Tankers are a pain to paint and to get that look spot on.. I've got it covered in a recent silver bullet video, features how to create that heavy brown dirt effect that those and many other pieces of rolling had coated on them. Could be a good pointer when you come to do the ferry vans.
Cheers Tim, I'll have a look. Those vans are next on my weathering hit list!
I have said this before, and i have to repeat myself. Your attention to detail is totally outstanding and makes everything you show us a jaw dropping, head scratching journey. Thank you for the show!
Thanks Bob, glad you enjoyed it. More madness on the way! Cheers
Excellent work Richard. It never ceases to amaze me just how long detail and accurate work takes to complete. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Bob
All I can say is “Stunning” I am a very new joiner to this world after many years of static modelling, 12th and 24th scale car building and war hammer figures! I haven’t read all of the comments on all of the Everard videos, but one thing that also adds to the videos, for me anyway, is the totally modest, while remaining so professional voice of Everard! You could do voiceovers for books! I could listen all day! As for the layouts, engine work, scenery, it is all just fantasmagorical sir! Hats off to the Hornby series!….. Let’s have an Everard Junction TV series too….. Please!….👏👏👏👏
I love the changes to the branch line, those DMU's now look very believable coming under the bridge.
Wow the branch already looked amazing, but now it's even more functionally amazing ...great work ' and so too with the unenviable weathering detail ' ...between videos, the anticipation is like waiting for a U2 album release ...and when posted, it's certainly a corker '
Wonderful update Richard, love the intro, the weathering you've achieved is tremendous
and you are right, it's a pleasure to watch these trains go by on the layout. Your endeavour
to realism and attention to detail is to be praised. Regards.
What can I say? "outstanding"? "Brilliant"? "Fantastic"? Yes all of these and more. Look forward to see the continuing development of this wonderful layout. Stay safe and well.
Hi Richard, what a cracking video, 36 minutes went by so quickly. It is one I can easily watch more than once. Will look forward to your build of the station. Cheers Greg
Been watching a few years (from Florida) now, and with each episode my jaw flys open when I see the detail you achieve. You have such a talent it’s a shame you don’t have a warehouse to show off in. Keep up the wonderful work.
Every time you make a change it always improves upon what was previously in place. I admire your dedication to continual improvement and I look forward to seeing it get even better. Fantastic.
The reverse loop should mean a few freight trains can get down there which I think would 'justify' the branch not being axed under Beeching. Very nice
Great update. Love that you focus as much on freight as passenger stock.
Branch line is a definite improvement. Your attention to detail is incredible.
Great to see a new update from you, Richard.
Really like what you have sone with the branch line - looks a lot more realistic now. The addition of a juice rail (with section gaps, track isolation switches, traction return cables, (maybe even a substation…?) will be the icing and the candles on the cake!
I worked on the railway (S&T Engineering) between 1977 and 2018 and have to say that yours and Mr Watsons (Dean Park) layouts are the pinnacle for “modern image” as regards getting the detail in place and then getting it right.
Really enjoy watching the model progress.
The new locos are a treat to the eyes, particularly the 47 and the 60. Pleased that you haven’t gone overboard with the weathering and have kept it subtle.
But the dmu’s and that lovely 2-EPB are also worthy of comment. They really do look the part. As does the container train and stone wagons.
I used to have a model railway many years ago (N gauge, 1969 - 1974 Western Region) but that is all packed away in the loft and is unlikely to see light of day until it gets sold off - other interests and life have got in its way, as they do. But, if I did have a layout, I would be happy if it was to the same standard as yours.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next update!
Best wishes from the Wirral.
Looks like the fourth tank car from the front, last axle, has a burned roller bearing: the wheel slides along the track before it begins to roll. Love the grease, oil and grime --- you can almost smell it!
More brilliant work. Love seeing the updates and the quality of what you achieve!
Another great video, your attention to detail and prefection is amazing and always look forward to a new video.
Great work. Your attention to details and crafting always work so well together. Enjoyed seeing the EMUs and DMUs especially. The only hard part is watching previous videos and saying "man, that looks great," only to have to do a video a couple months later saying "I wasn't happy with that and didn't think it looked good." lol You like to play your audience. :D Cheers.
All of your videos are fantastic. I check every Sunday night just to see if you have uploaded a video. There that good. I learn something new from every one. Thankyou. Rich 👍
Always amazed at how much you do and your results! All looking amazing, and I can't wait to see what's next... Great work!
Thanks Richard. I was starting to have Everard Junction withdrawals.
Wow. Absolutely amazing! The branch line is incredible. Several of the shots from around the new area you made has so much realism in them. I love for instance the “no poll tax” graffiti on the bridge.
I've put "no poll tax" in a few places on the layout for that period feel. Cheers, glad you enjoyed it.
That’s a massive improvement to the branch line there Richard. Any chance of a steam rail tour in the running section 😉.
I just love the era you’ve based this on. Takes me back. It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos and see your work, which is fantastic.
Looking great Richard. Top class as ever. No doubt you'll sleep easier in the future knowing you achieved the changes. Enjoyed your channel over the years, learnt so much practical stuff from watching. Thanks
Love my own layout and it's as good as I want and my abilities will let it. But this is a different league. Absolutely brilliant. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next update.
I have no interest in model railways but the skills and craftsmanship that you display in your superbly produced videos have me hooked. I am delighted each time a new one is released on You Tube. Your attention to detail is beyond compare.
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it.
It's all go lol keen on seeing the station area develop and love how the branch line has progressed.
The branch line does look so much better now. A most enjoyable update.
Love this Channel. I stopped model railways when I got a drumkit in 1981. So I relive it all again through Everard Junction. Thank you !
Brilliant layout definitely one of best out there keep the videos coming really enjoyable.
Great update video. I think the branch line looks much better now. Nice work on the weathering too. Thanks for sharing your layout.
idea: put different coach numbers on the sides of the DMUs so with it comes back into the station it appears to be a different train
As soon as the branch-line appeared in the opening shots, I thought, "That looks good, really good". The penny didn't drop until you spoke. Excellent.
Your narration and video editing quality has gotten so much better. Your videos are always quite enjoyable, but now they're really fantastic. Well done!
The transformation of the branch line is quite remarkable! I thought it was good before, but it’s so much better now. Another really interesting video. Thank you! 👍
I've enjoyed watching this video. Your collection of engines is great. I'm more of a steam fan with my previous layouts mainly set in the 60's to early/mid 70's. Keep up with the great work Richard.
Convincing cameo scene with the bridge. I think it was worth the effort to get it right! Thanks for uploading.
It's the little things. The rust pockets on the freight wagons... True trade craft .
Brilliant as always mate. I haven't had a layout for years but all I need to do is watch your videos and its enough to keep me happy and interested in the hobby. Well done.
Your detailing is amazing and the context of each scene is convincing.
Magnificent as always, Richard. Thank-you!
The revised Branch Line is a real star!
The rest also!
Another brilliant video. The timing of the return loop is correct for a branch line. So accurate and life like. Today myself have under coated an old BR MK2 coach.
Fantastic job on the branch line, you'd never know where the old line was. Blended in very nicely. Not my era but I really enjoyed seeing the work you've done on all of your rolling stock, particularly your repaints of your DMUs. Difficult schemes to pull off and you've nailed it.
Looking forward to the next update, this one was thoroughly enjoyable to watch.
Thanks for sharing.
Great update, really a pleasure to watch, layout is looking so well developed now!
I think the new tunnel bridge looks perfect. I do like the big open field overlooking it. It makes it feel more like the beginning of open country. and makes the trains going past feel further away.
Cheers, I needed some open space on the layout. I'm quite happy with how the field has worked out.
@@EverardJunction Mate, it adds a lot of scale, that bridge is a nice natural feeling segue into it as well.
Photographing and filming opportunities over it are a nice bonus.
Very nice weathering and amazing level of perfection in bulding youre layout, just beautiful work!
Another great update Richard. Love the revised branch line.
Brilliant video as ever Richard, and my word haven't you been a busy bee. I'm loving the bridge and cutting, looks superb, not long till I begin my new layout at last. Keep up the excellent work as ever Richard and see you for the next one
Cheers
James
Cheers from the USA! I don’t have any space or money to do this, I’m living vicariously through you. Unbelievable attention to detail
Looking great Richard, the improved section is superb.
Thank you for a fantastic video. Your layout looks amazing. I recently started building my first layout and just finished the work on the baseboard. Looking at what you've created makes me feel excited and overwhelmed
Brilliant update, love the branch line improvements.Thank you.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I'm much happier with the branch, something never looked quite right before.
All the extra effort you put in the hard work really shows.
Highly impressed in the high detail in scenery.
Keep going looking really good. 😎😎😎😎!!
You've really outdone yourself with that track realignment for the branch, absolutely amazing!!!!
Incredible amount of detail! Great video. Thank's!
Immeasuarbly better as far as the branch line is concerned. Well worth your effort, and the return loop makes it a really diverse part of the layout now.
Great channel. A perfect getaway from everyday craze. Keep up the good work...
A fantastic layout update, love the new look of the branch line, one of the best layouts on RUclips
Amazing commitment to detail as always.
Great update. We, as modelers, live and learn, don’t we? All the locos and rolling stock look great. I love all the passengers and drivers. We definitely need to populate our trains and layouts. I look forward to your progress on the branch line and the station. Thanks. See ya next time.
Absolutely beautiful work !!!! Great update!!! It’s your layout, change it . In the end it’s yours to look at and admire .
Great job on your scenery work, and great job on your weathering on your tank cars and the nice paint jobs on your passenger csrs and your locos,I enjoy your videos great learning tools.
thanks for the update, really miss the episodes watching you work.
About time mate ! But as they say: good things take time. And you certainly have delivered again. The branch line rework puts a lot of life to the scenery. Excellent.
Really good, the branch line looks so realistic, I'd like to see more of that magnorail system you've installed.
Found this in my recommended. Watched the whole thing. Your attention to detail made me do a double take at the beginning. Great stuff!
The 33 is looking good. Of course the Headcorn shows it doing a Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff train (usually a 33 and 5 mk1s) which we used to catch if we missed the Brighton to Cardiff train.
Your flatbed cars look awesome. I like the fact you’ve used varying container sizes with some filled others not. Makes for a realistic look.
Wow, we've been following you for some years since somewhere halfway your former layout. This one is becoming such a profusely and an intrecately step up. The time, effort and eye for detail must indeed take ages, but it certainly is worh the endeavour. Also, your reweathering does indeed look much better we think (we always did have the impression that it was a tad much perhaps, but we had no reference since we're not from the UK). Fantastic work on your layout Richard; coming together fantastically !
Excellent work! Excellent video, as always.. Thank you!
Brilliant! I used to drive the 416 / 415 units for network southeast in those colours and when we were driving them, they didn't have headlights either, so the bolt-on BR job was to fit all epbs with external lights. Trains look so much better with crews and passengers.
Another great update. I would say you made the right choice with the modifications to the branch line everything seems to run better. the new glazing really made a big difference to the class 31. the weathering is looking good I have also been weathering my stock too.- Nicholas.
You should have some allotments in that field as a bit of a nod to the old layout. And maybe a second road by the station (Magnorail or not) with an area to display your buses. As for the points in the station, I think some heavy weathering will take care of it.
What a great vid! Wonderful attention to detail, it's brave to admit you're not satisfied with a certain part of any layout, and then rip it out and start over. What about a disused/ deralict, halt of some sort along the branch? Kind regards Dave, from Southend on sea.
Lovely update Richard thanks ever so much! Rgds, Joachim
Excellent update with lots of brilliant new features 👍🏻
super update, branch line is really coming along - really believe-able.
i had often wondered what was happening with your station area, complete forget you mentioned in an earlier video about the point work.
Fantastic work Richard. You really are a master at this . Stay safe
Always look forward to these videos need to grab a quick snack and enjoy
You have to be one of the best modellers in the entire community and in the top tier of yt! Every time you upload it helps delight so may people so well done!
You have given me hope. Started my layout 6 months ago, track is nearly complete, But I find yours is something I have to work towards. Mick
Great update on the layout Richard it is really coming along nicely
A really special and inspiring layout!
Wow! Massive changes to the branch line, and hugely successful too. You have been busy!
Another great update thank you. Fantastic work
Also, the new branch line arrangement looks splendid.
This is such a gorgeous layout! Fantastic job!
Always loved the NSE Livery, it would be perfect for a new Re-nationalised British Rail.
The branch line looks so much better, I liked the old version, but this one is at another level, as I was watching, the wife just happened to walk by, and said, "Is that a model or the real thing?" so I think you have achieved what you set out to do!, cheers, Dave
Mission accomplished! Cheers Dave
Love the upgrades to the Branch line area!~
The branch line “re-do” is excellent!
A lot of effort! … but definitely worth it!
Very nice!
Fantastic weathering and painting!!!
Thanks. I'm very pleased with the weathering on the collection now. Still a few more to redo but I'm nearly there.
