    I just used mine today, I had their previous model and the chain was loose so instead of buying a chain I bought this one and keep0 the other for a back up. I love it but for me I found it a bit heavy to handle but it definitely gets the job done. I had a large trunk orange tree that was near death and was able to cut it down by myself, an 80 year woman! I love being self sufficient and I enjoy using HF tools. I have a lot of them.

      Yes, I love HF too. I use this chainsaw (electric) for smaller jobs, but it has the capability of handling slightly larger trees/branches, too. Being self sufficient is a must!

      Me too. I'm a female 60 years old and I have the Portland electric trimmer, Portland pressure washer, the warrior reciprocating saw. I luv HF.

    Dear potential customers, please don't let the "quietness" of these 120v saws deceive you, the 8,000 rpm motor is VERY powerful. I have the 18" big brother to this 14" model, and I felled a 32' tree for a friend, it only took about 35 seconds of actual cutting time. I have an inverter on my tractor, so I can use my 120v chainsaw ANYWHERE I choose.

      Works great with a portable generator too!

      This is good advice. The noise of a gas powered chainsaw makes you respect it more but with a quiet one a person might not be as careful.

    I'm glad I found this video & read the reviews as I'm thinking about purchasing this chainsaw to clear brush in my backyard & to cut some wood for my crafts. Being an older woman, I'm always concerned with the weight of the tools but this one looks like it may work out just fine. Thank you for the video.

    I got one a week ago for basic branch cutting and even cutting bushes. It works fine but it does go thru chain oil pretty fast.

      Great tip! You do have to check the chain oil reservoir frequently to make sure it works properly! Glad it's working for you!

    My dad got me one for my birthday and I've never used a chainsaw before. Has been really easy to use. The only thing I've noticed is the chain oil reservoir doesn't seem to be going down very quickly.

    • @CupcakeandCornbread
      @CupcakeandCornbread  Год назад +1

      I noticed it didn't use much if I'm doing small jobs. When I was cutting down multiple trees it used more chain oil - just keep checking while you're using it!

      They are also good in the home remodel business! I was a home builder/remodeler for almost 40 years. I still remember buying my first electric chainsaw and the time it saved on the tear out part of a job. I now do mostly furniture building and woodturning. I’m about to purchase one of these for the collection and trimming of wood for my turning…..

    This is the old model I had one and just loved it it has bin recalled if you have one harbor freight will exchange it for the current model be shure to check your model number before returning to store I have found these saws to be excellent little work horses I've cut down trees that almost exceeded the bar length wile not a pro saw this saw stands toe to toe with saws costing mutch more if your not a lumber jack and have access to electricity this Lil saw is well worth considering

    Wy are you using it like a handsaw, sawing it back and forth as if it wasn't a chain saw? Let the chain pull the saw up to the work then with the grab teeth engaged, rock the saw into the cut.

    • @noel888

      I know, I'm just stuck in my ways. When I'm going back and forth I'm not applying pressure, just working my way through the cut. Good info though!

      I put a 16 inch Oregon blade and chain on mine, and it cut through 13 large trees very easily and quickly too. These pine trees were 18 - 26 inches in diameter and 30 feet tall. It actually cut as good (or better) than my gas Poulan Pro Chain Saw.

      Hahaha! I didn’t know what you meant at first… but 😂😂😂😂
      I’m surprised he plugged it up and pulled the trigger!!
      But I need an electric chainsaw for use around the wood shop…..Mainly for trimming wood to turn on my lathe. Not worth firing up the Stihl…..

      Lol, good attitude! I rib you because I was a homebuilder for 40 years and remember a lot of apprentices that did similar things.
      But I have to say that I appreciate your video and the effort you put into it. And it was enough to show me that the saw is good enough to have around the woodshop for trimming limbs on chunks of wood that I’m about to turn on the lathe.
      Thanks for sharing with us!

      @@CupcakeandCornbread I have had these saws for about 10 years and only had to replace the chains themselves. But also I guess used lightly for firewood, but sometimes 8" trunks. The key is not to use heavily on "green, wet" wood imo.

    How much is danger of kickback ?

    • @CupcakeandCornbread
      @CupcakeandCornbread  2 года назад +2

      I'm sure there is some danger of a kickback. I didn't experience much, but always be careful when using any chainsaw, electric or gas powered.

    • @55stanmc
      @55stanmc Год назад

      The direction of the blade pulls the saw into the wood and away from the operator. So with a little experience under your belt you will feel very comfortable using the saw. Always use your God given common sense when using any tool….. don’t put yourself in a situation where injury is possible. Think before pulling the trigger. If you are a total novice, start small until you learn the tool…. trim limbs first, don’t start by trying to fell a 40’ tree as your first project!!! Be careful and good luck!!

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) -- Gloves, ear plugs or muffs, and (if those glasses aren't safety glasses) safety glasses. All are available at Harbor Freight. PPE is the most important piece of equipment on a job involving a chain saw (next to what the PPE is protecting . . . .)

  • @fourseasons2349
    @fourseasons2349 Год назад +3

    why are you shifting back and forth with the chain bar...the saw has teeth cut outs in the base and those you nestle against the tree base or branch base and then rotate the bar around that position...there is no need to take up a sawing format..
