We're finally back to our tiny cabin on the creek for a while and we're so happy to be home! We built our 256 square foot tiny cabin about a year and a half ago, so we're going to do some maintenance and add some new features to make the cabin even more comfortable!

Cargo Trailer Conversion: Replacing A Tongue Jack and Installing A Power Inlet
Просмотров 8003 месяца назад
We have a 6x10 cargo trailer that we converted to a camper over 3 years ago. Since then we've put over 30,000 miles on the trailer, visiting many state and national parks all over the United States and Canada. Plus we've boondocked at hundreds of dispersed camping areas out west and have loved every minute of it. But all that traveling can put a lot of wear and tear on the trailer, plus we've r...
Keep Cool In Your Cargo Trailer Conversion
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.3 месяца назад
We built out our 6x10 cargo trailer conversion over 3 years ago, but didn't include an air conditioner on our first trip out west. It really wasn't necessary as we visited Colorado, Utah and several other states from February to May that year, and there was still plenty of snow on the ground. This past year we traveled from May to September in many of the same areas, so we needed a way to keep ...

Lost in Time: Hiking to an Abandoned Cabin on Little Dominguez Canyon Trail
I was wondering about the gas fitting and the length of the hose. Great information, I just ordered one for my cabin 12x20. I do have a wood stove also
Thanks. Unhook the battery, huh?😊
Pros, cons, back barn doors vs. ramp door, which could double as a deck?
Great place to eat
I learned a lot about camping from your videos! Thank you and lots of love from Saudi Arabia ❤
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
Awesome trailer. I love it ❤❤🎉
Thank you!
Does the front area come with a floor? Or is that a separate piece you purchased? I have seen some reviews that stated it did not have the floor for the front area.
No floor in the front area - we placed a tarp under the tent and extended it out. Helped keep debris out of the tent!
When you mentioned the wooden pegs in the house construction it reminded me of my moms house that was of course Acadian built in Nova Scotia. Square iron nails and wooden pegs. Merci pour le partage!
Thanks for sharing!!
Wow! $2800! Have yall been to my hometown of Estes park, Colorado?
We haven't been to Estes Park, but we were close - stayed at Vedauwoo between Cheyenne and Laramie, WY, then headed down through Steamboat Springs. Definitely plan to get back out there soon!
I can dig it!
Great video! Curious what the interior height is of this? I’m about to purchase a trailer to convert and trying to decide between 5x8 / 6x10…. Thanks!
We can't stand up in the 5x8 - in our 6x10 it's about 74" at center, about 70" on the walls (and have to bend down a little to get out the door). Have to say it's nice to be able to stand up in the 6x10, especially when living in it for extended periods!
I love that area! 💯
The best!
👍👍👍👍🤘🤘
😘🤩😍🥰❤💋
8:40 backshot pov goes crazy
Thanks for the info - I just watched it and it seems fine. It just transitions to an over the shoulder view out to the creek.
What type of rubber you used to wrap it?
Just basic rubber mats I got from Lowes (a building supply store). Used duct tape to hold them in place. It worked fairly well to help heat up water for our showers when traveling!
What watt generator did you use ?
We initially tried it with our Honda eu2200i generator, but it wouldn't allow the compressor on the AC to kick on. Our Champion 4650 invertor/generator powers the AC with ease.
Did you use the mule service? And have you heard of anyone shipping their pack and supplies to the Supai Village post office? Thank you for the video!
No, we didn't use the mule service. I know you have to reserve the mules in advance (can't just decide to do it when you arrive). I also don't know about shipping packs/supplies to the Supai post office. They would have to come in on the helicopter, so you'd definitely have to check on that. Have fun - it was amazing!
Thank you! Very helpful
Hope it helps!
convert it to dual hose it will work so much better cooling you trailer
Might do that at some point, but this one is working out fine for what we need!
There is a shower surround that is able to extend and retract to make more shower curtain area 🎉🎉
Have to look into it!
Great place
Fluff lee
Great town
Nice video I like that town
Like the idea. We have a 16-foot trailer we used as vendors. We work from inside the trailer with a ramp gate. Any ideas to contain the cool while using the portable ac?
During the 2020 virus thing, we used visqueen with velcro strips to make a vapor barrier to separate areas in the nursing home where I worked. I'm not saying it would be efficient, but it could help to make an easy/inexpensive "wall" to keep it a little cooler. Here's a link to an amazon item that might paint a better picture for you:tinyurl.com/4w9ptd4y - hope it helps!
Cornbread's uncle taught him all this!
Thanks for the update, I enjoy your videos.
Thanks for watching!
Great advice
So good
Nice! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
😮250 residents?!
As of the most recent census! Don't know how many people live on the "very private drive", though!
Great little town
My experience with a single hose portable AC was not good in very hot conditions. While blowing out hot air it creates a vacuum pulling in hot air from outside anywhere it can get in. However it does have its place. If it’s not extremely hot outside but hot in the trailer I place it at the door way with the door open and it makes the trailer comfortable. Doing it this way pulls the outside air right into the back of the unit while blowing cold air to the back of the trailer. I plan on changing to a window unit in the future. Happy camping and stay safe out there 🏕️
We found that it worked much better when the humidity wasn't an issue. When we used it in Colorado it worked very well, getting down to our desired temp pretty quickly. In Louisiana, it struggled. We don't camp in the south in the summer, so hopefully it will keep working for us where we need it! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for the review. I live an hour away and have never been. Looks like it's worth the drive.
It really is a great stop!
We enjoyed your video, and ordered one of those tents after watching! Can't wait to try it! Great view of the creek, and you sure made it look cozy inside! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
how many Hp has the S205?
It's 46ccs, which translates to 3.07hp
@@CupcakeandCornbread thank you 3hp are a good power
Just purchased this generator, last night with a full tank it ran out of fuel after 3 hours. I had it plugged into my Toyota coaster and that runs the 12v/240v fridge (Dometic) and I turned on a fan heater. How do I get better fuel consumption? Thanks in advance
Thanks for sharing! It all depends on what you're pulling from the generator. I don't know what the draw is from your fridge or your fan heater - you'll need to determine the power requirements there. We use ours with a 6x10 cargo trailer, primarily in the winter, to power an electric blanket. We can run it about 10-12 hours with just that. We also use it to recharge our Jackery or Bluetti - that's our primary source of power when camping. It wouldn't power our portable AC unit, so we purchased a larger invertor generator for the summer.
Hi I was just wondering about the black bracket that you used, was that purchased at home Depot as well?
I'm sure it was purchased at Lowes or Home Depot, just can't remember which one. Pretty sure it was in the lumber section!
My girlfriend and I are doing CTC and live in Louisiana. I understand the challenges of staying cool in this heat. We have a 6x12 with a window unit and while I dont plan on camping when its over 90, the window unit can keep it at about 75 when it is 90 outside. Our trailer is only insulated in the ceiling.
That's one of the things I like about cargo trailers - there's multiple options to get the job done!
Saw doesn't want to go full out what to do
Lots of possibilities - low compression, bad carburetor, fuel line issue, bad fuel, etc. Best bet (if you're mechanically inclined) is to go through the manual or the manufacturer's website and see what you can figure out (if it's not under warranty). If it's under warranty, follow the directions provided by the store where it was purchased (to bring it in or return to the manufacturer). Hope that helps!
This place was awesome ❤️
I like history
We do too!
Hey Todd! Not sure you remember me. My Dad is Roy Taylor. I recently got a 7x7x14 rear ramp trailer. I’m converting to a basic camper by myself. We were raised camping so I wanted to build my own custom rig. I call it Da Camp! Kim Nevils showed me your channel! I’m really enjoying you & your wife’s videos!!!
Of course I remember you! Good luck with your build - we kept ours pretty basic, though it does have a full sized bed, shower, ac and lots of storage, but that's what I like about cargo trailers - lots of options! Oh, thanks Kim!!
And it's creepy as hell at 3 am
yep, nothing but darkness on both sides
We have a 8 x 5 cargo trailer. Bought a unit like yours at Lowes. I know our trailer is small, but boy do we love it! We also did our vent on the floor it works great that way. Anyways we enjoy your videos. We each have RUclips channels and we both have subscribed!! Rory n Lorelei. Take care!
That is awesome! Thanks for stopping by!
Looks like an awesome place to visit!
Definitely!
Loved this place..and great video
I would have installed the electric outlet on the other side.
My shower is on the other side and it would have been too much trouble. Our AC just inside the door, so it should be fine. Thanks though!
Very nice
Thanks!
