Just bought my 2021 Scat Pack 392 yesterday, I was always in love with these cars since release. Never in my life have I had this much power at my foot. Just took it out on a sunday drive in the mountains of Montana and was able to hit 147 going up an 8 percent grade with a lot left in the car, once i get used to the handling and power and put it through its paces. The comfort is amazing, I just went from a Jeep Cherokee to the 392 and the comfort was shocking.

Ok I stopped in Dodge about a month ago with my 20 2SS Orange Crush Camaro manual trans . After a few hours road out with a dark Red wide body auto trans . I loved the Camaro and wish I could have kept it. But man this car is fast and comfortable. Lots of controllable features like the 2SS . It may not be as nimble as a Camaro but it handles just fine . I say it handles better then my 19 mustang GT . Great car also , The Trunk is a blessing , and like the others , back seat is basically useless . I love all American muscle and it’s great to have choices. Great vid keep ‘em coming .

The T/A pkg stands for Trans Am. Look at a 1970 T/A Challenger 340 6 Pack. The striping and other things are the same. It's made to replicate the Trans Am series racing series cars in 1970. It iz lowered half an inch from stock and has bigger sway bars. Look at a 2023 Challenger T/A 392 Widebody! Awesome car!

I remember my Uncle bringing his new 1971 orange home. I was 11, but the men circled around that car and that stays in the mind. Dodge has raised the price to almost 45k add a few options and its 50k
then the dealers want 5K over msrp
    That's $55,000 for a Scat pack
add a 5 year finance payment and now its 65k
That's just shy of Hellcat territory 2 years ago
Add the premium only gas at $4:25 a gallon and what use to be a working mans blue collar fun toy

Little late to the party. I personally own a 2017 SRT 392 6 SPEED. I absolutely love the 392 for the street. As good as the factory manual is I up graded to a Barton shifter and a good tune. Night and day difference in shifting. I highly recommend it. Personally unless you plan on hitting the track alot the 392 is about perfect. With good tires and a decent DA I can get into the 11s. That's pretty decent for street play.
I did do a mid delete but left everything else stock.

I am very sorry, I literally just seen you question. DA = Density Altitude
Meaning the air quality. lower temperature, low humidity, even running at sea level affects the DA. Hot muggy days will slow your car down. The cooler the better, within limits. You want it warm enough to get good traction but cool enough so everything isn't running hot. The higher you go in elevation the thinner the air is, less oxygen in the air. In Tennessee here I am around 700 ft above sea level which isn't bad. Racing in Denver, 5,200 feet above sea level would require some tuning, alot less oxygen in the air, poor DA. DA even affects fuel mileage to some degree. Your engine performs better at night or morning.
      I hope this helps.

I really like your comments on the challenger. I have one. Love it!

  • @MtnBadger
    @MtnBadger 2 месяца назад

A, the manual means you drive/interact with the car, the car doesn't "drive you." And your comments about people buying hopped up versions with automatics and always tromping on it and ending up in a ditch because they're looking for the "driving experience" is spot on. The Challenger is definitely roomier than the Chargers, I'm 6'5" and have all the room I need in the Challenger but the Charger was a bit cramped for me, especially in the width of the seat and shoulder space. (I'm no scarecrow 😊).
I have a '23 Shaker edition with 6spd and it's a blast. I can milk 24 mpg on the highway and 17-20 cruising around back roads and city but straight, in-town driving is pretty draining on the tank/wallet.
The 245s are honestly a bit small for the power, you need to be careful with the throttle. Mine has the upgraded, 9.5" wheels with 275 ZR Pirellis and it's a big (not huge, but big enough) difference as it's much less likely to skate when you take off into a corner. The 245s are decent tires, *if* you mind your manners. 😊
U also have the Harmon Kardon system with the factory subs in the back and it's all the stereo you want. Customizable EQ and just the first couple of level bars on the bass really wakes things up.
And that model should have blind spot monitoring, I believe. My '22 would blink when a car was on my side. Anyway, you're correct. You do get a lot of car for the money.

Too bad all theses can do is go straight 😂 why would you buy a car who can’t take on real twist? Takes no talent to drive in a straight line… too big, no visibility and can’t do crap in the twist…

Over inflation in the tires also helps keep them from flatspotting while sitting on the lot for extended periods.

Very nice review. I did it in reverse, bought my used 2017 SRT392 that previous owner had modded. And then researched reviews. I was taken in by Octane Red paint & limo tint. Turns out the SRT was the top dog in 2017, loaded with leather, Nav and 19 speaker Harmon Kardon sound. Prev guy tracked the car, lowered and put braces under hood & in trunk. I just took the braces out of the trunk so I have full trunk and can drop back seats, if needed.

Everywhere I go in my Scat WB faces beam at me. Yeah, 6 spd stick. My first was 2008 5.7 RT 6 spd. Now 2021. Fierce looking 305's all around. Sport mode screams in 3rd gear through town at 30 mph. All day show off.

I mean it's kinda dum to custom a 392 but a 5.7 makes sense it's the base rt and they can handle mods I would say if you don't have the money right now go for a base rt add the super charger make about 400+ hp

I've had my share of Mopars ('10 Charger SRT, '10 Jeep SRT8, '15 Challenger Hellcat and '18 Trackhawk) but I think the 392 Scat is the best bang for the buck. Especially now that they have the Widebody. 🔥
I wish I'd known you didn't have a Hellcat or Trackhawk to review, they were fun but RIDICULOUS 🤣🤣🤣

The 245's are just too dangerous on these. I was just tapping the gas and the rear end was fishtailing. I put the 275's on and it was a big improvement

Anyone that drives this car wide open throttle will need to be prepared to row some gears real fast. It hits redline pretty quickly. If you like running out gears, you will not be satified with this car. It's still a real fun car, though.
If the dynamics package has the same rotors as the Hellcat, I'd avoid them They'll put you in the poor house at replacement time.
Excellent review! Thanks for keeping it honest.

You're def right the 6.4 really is quick to respond. I think the gearing is fine but you don't need to be prepared to shift quick
