In India we live life hard; and all my friends are stressed about getting into a certain school, or trying to become rich, and theyre never happy. Today I woke up early, went outside and grabbed chai as the beautiful sun rose. I actually bought a camera the other day so i went around my city taking nice pictures. I still have dreams, but thanks to this video, I wont let them consume me from living in the present. Thanks random guy... you might have changed my life
Yeah when you don't have to worry about you daily life earnings to fill your stomach or build a house then you can live the present and do whatever shit you want.
Main point is that social media has made our minds to think that everyday is needed to be perfect, full of excitement bla bla bla. So, we just think that the simple life is boring and unhappy. It's not true.🤸
Tom’s movie recommendation of Perfect Days has been life changing. I’m obsessed with the books and soundtrack. Such a thoughtful movie!!! It is iconic!!!
I watched the movie perfect day and i realised that no day can be perfect. We just need to live every moment with gratitude, appreciation and happiness!
This one is so true, you know the moments when we're too busy on something, and then you just pause and look around you, feel the air under your nose, the pressure of us sitting on something or just the feeling of touch. It's so simple yet it felt so nice.
The main thing to enjoy this way of living is enduring the times were you feel empty and maybe even a little depressed. When we endure those times, and don’t reach for fast dopamine spiking things like bad food, social media etc, you become more balanced mentally and neurological. That sets you up for enjoying the small things in life and you’ll realise that it’s far more enjoyable than all those distractions
Crazy this is my situation actually. I’m not into social media unless RUclips or Pinterest and being depressed is both ruining lots of things and making me enjoy the little things. That being said, I feel like I am here for a reason and once i find the purpose, I’ll finally leave it but I still have no clue 😢 it’s been years tho, I maybe need help.
bro the timing of this video is so right. I was just feeling nihilistic and pointless about life, but you just gave a completely different meaning to it. I guess its just about the perspective. TYSM Amazing video btw, i subbed
These days living a good life became a wish. Working so hard every single day to reach some little goals. Being distracted by a lot of videos, words and… being stressed by so many unreasonable thoughts. Overthinking as hell and being overwhelmed so easily. Life wasn’t that much hard to live as far as I know and remember. We’re making it hard for ourselves. Comparing any single situation with anything else. But oh, a simple life. Peaceful as the ocean. And when you have a single life you will know yourself better day by day. And the whole life is to know yourself and this whole galaxy and meet your soul. So why not? Thank you so much for the video.
Incredible video. I really want more slow mornings like this. I feel like a good morning sets me up for a good day. Yesterday I got up at 6:20 and went for a skate as the foggy sky got lighter. I grabbed a chai late from the cafe around the block, people watched for a few, then skated down this bike path that goes through a marsh. I sat at a bench and watched the cars go by on the freeway bridge that crosses the marsh off in the distance. That just made me feel at peace the whole day. This morning I tried again but was so exhausted (and still am) and couldn’t get out of bed until an hour after my alarm. I’m hoping college next year will bring more time for mornings like these.
damn that sounds like a beautiful morning. I know what you mean though, it's hard to have those good days every day, but I guess the real power is in enjoying even the days where you don't do too much... keep trying at those morning skates though brother, they sound great 🙌
Happiness is not a matter of choice. Some people struggle with diseases and disorders of all kinds. Not everybody can afford to sit for hours meditating on the growing of leaves. Happiness is an umbrella term for moments of either peace, pleasure or satisfaction. Sure we can all have them. But not whenever we choose to. Maybe some day when we finally stop competing against each other.
thank you for making this video for people who need to hear these. i actually try to do these things and im happy i realized it by myself. because knowing that you can do everything with your ownself and still being happy is hard to believe, but in the end we have to. love yourself, i really appreciate that.
Eventually I can really relate this video with me. Nowdays my life is also really simple but organised also peaceful. Even though I lack a bit of human interaction but still I'm happy both mentally and physically. Loved your content ❤️. Keep it up
Praise the Lord brother ... Thank you for being an inspiration and all the wise advice... May God bless you and your family .... Keep making more videos ..... We need more ❤... Love from India
I loved this mate, taking a step back from everything and just enjoying the moment, the present, the life we have. It takes a lot and a little to remind ourselves to get out of the laser focus we’ve put on a pedestal. Subbed so quickly
I’ve watched you for the past couple months and I have to say this is my favorite video yet, and you’re videos have just kept getting better. Not to say the other ones were bad, as they still helped out a lot, but the last few and especially this one have felt more personal, which helps me take what you say to heart. Peace and love brother wish you the best❤️❤️❤
This is my favourite movie, Perfect Days. When I saw your video title it kind of transmited the same vibe, and that's what made me open the video. It has a great edition and a great message, and it really vibes with that movie too, thank you for that
what a good video. taking IB film in high school right now and one day I wish to make videos like you. not trying to be a big youtuber or anything, but I imagine my life “when i grow up” to be filled with a lot of things that i grow by myself. not just a 9-5, but projects i have initiative on. things like this.
I truly believe that the right message finds us at the right time, and this video did just that for me. Thank you, Tom, for reminding me how beautiful life truly is. 'The Perfect Days' has quickly become one of my recent favorites too! Sending much love from India.
I always watch a video based on the thumbnail and not keep an eye on the views it has. While watching this midway, I thought you must've thousands of followers, or even millions based on the editing, BG music, cinematography and overall quality. And then I came to see and you have 30k followers. I was like Damn, you deserve a crazy amount . Crazy efforts in the videos. Loved the quality. Couldn't help but comment
The quality video I never know I will end up watching. From a long time I tryna stay away with any content and Idk why i just clicked over this, you just decluttered my mind, helped it someway clear up that fog and helped me remember myself back in the start of this year, How strong I was. Thanks a lot. IDK who you are, what type of content you create, I may never ever meet you again, or may, but you earned the like and a subscriber.
I am currently trying to understand this, and the algorithm suggested your video to watch. It is probably very strange, but the thing that made me think about all this was the movie Blade Runner 2049, where Agent K is living a hard life but keeps going and has his ways to enjoy life with his virtual girlfriend. Very weird, I know, but this somehow brought me to think more about the simplicity of life and how I can apply this to my own life. And your video explains this quite perfectly. Again, good job.
Just got acroos your channel and loved your content , watched your mulitiple vidios or I would say what I watched was a perfect peice of art please never stop posting....❤
The cinematography and storytelling were amazing. Life can be absurd at times, and we must create meaning in order to live it. In an era where everything is about grabbing attention, where we build our self-image based on how others treat us (ironically), and where there's a constant urge to become filthy rich, this piece of art brought me peace.
I totally agree that happiness comes from simple, because simple means you only and have to focus on one thing with all your body, and that's call live in the moment😉😊
Perfect days was truly a game changer of a film, I’ve watched it several times already and I get profound joy in the simple life that he leads. I unfortunately end up falling into the trap of scrolling time and time again however, but I will forever do my best to give it up and fall back to simpler times
Thnk you for making such amazing content brother, I have recently explored this concept of embracing the boring and trying to enjoy it, this video is one of the best I have watched today, many a times we get so caught up in living for the next big thing, we forget majority of life is just chasing it, and thats where the magic and fun lies. Thanks for this video, wish you lots of success and love❤
Thanks you so much for that dude. Im french, im 19 years old and im freaking sceared for my futur. I dont know of what tommorow are made. And i dont know what i do the next month. But i dont care. I Just live my life like i want to live my live. Insted of all the trust. All the "croyances" in French. And another words for us. Merci du fond du cœur pour cette vidéo. Tu est un inconnu qui a changer pour un certain temps ma façon de voir les choses.
Thanks man really was depressed these days not knowing what is the meaning of my life and what am I supposed to do.but your video definitely made a change in my mindset thanks 👍
that's how I'd like to live my life, even though I am just 18. I'd rather live myself in accordance to my future and still make time for my present. It's better this way. Not because it gives me time to relax, but because I know that no one is sure about how much time they got left. I might die tomorrow, or the next year or after hitting my 80's. at least I'll die knowing that I didn't drag my life out for the a future I wasn't sure would come. Thanks to have reminded me that.
@@TomHurls Its amazing how I and most of us are in a similar mentality to come back to a time when we did not have the internet , going back to a time where we valued stuff that bought us hapiness, not materialism , but just some community and purpose. I myself am suffering from a little bit of loneliness and a little bit of phone addiction. Trying to get back some satisfaction out of my life. Glad I found your channel. I really like your production quality and story telling. Looking forward to more videos.
This video is beautiful. The shots are great, colors are nice and warm. Message is clear and reassuring. Keep up the great work man :D (earned a sub from me)
I found and read the Myth of Sisyphus when I was 18, and it really clicked. 24 years later, I find I've kind of forgotten that simplicity. Thanks for the reminder.
and just being is a happy state at least in my view. A human is naturally happy, its the external that disrupts that happiness. So a simple and plain existence is happiness
Happiness, sadness, and all the other emotional states are part of being human. Focusing exclusively on happiness (and the related feel-good emotional states) is not balanced, in my opinion. Living with the whole spectrum and expecting such, is a more balanced mode. Some days are sunny, some cloudy. That's being.
Thanks for inspiring and motivating everyone to lead life with simplicity, enjoying every little moment 😊 I simply loved your content 💗 Keep growing! Love from India ❤
Alright I'm going to type some things out that I need to say out loud and I need them written somewhere so I can look back to it when I get to enjoy the beauty of the mundane . And so I shall commence into my writing. I am tired of being tired. Recently I had a silly fight with a friend I truly really love. At the end of our fight she told me she needed time and so we stopped talking . It's been 3 days and I can't stop thinking about it , what I could've done to not get in to that situation , get a time machine travel back to that moment and not say what I wanted to say because I would know that those words will take her away from me . But then again life's a tricky game so even if I travelled back to that unfortunate moment and fixed it, another one would arise earlier and might have even been one worse than the one im going through right now . I want to text her tell her that I'm here for her , tell her that I miss her and she's alway on my mind . But there's this voice in me saying "you're weak , you'll sound desperate" and well maybe I am . I keep thinking that if I do nothing now and just wait I might lose precious time with her . But then I think that if i do rush through it I might not get to have anymore time with her because I'll screw it up even harder and i'll drive her even further away . I'm tired of being tired and I wanna be with her.
That's hard. Look. If you try and reconcile and she shuts you down youre in the same position as you are now. Don't expect anything to change but if it does then great. If not, reconvene, recollect your thoughts and reprocess your life. If you want to chat more about it you can add me on insta or discord and we can talk more properly. But good luck❤️
@@TomHurls Well first I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my comment , normally it would just stay there and pile up in the abyss of comments while your vid blows up. And although I appreciate you taking the time to answer me , I also disagree with one of the things you've mentioned in your message. The statement with which i disagree is : "If you try and reconcile and she shuts you down youre in the same position as you are now" . Let me explain. So for right now what's happening is we're in a standstill where she told me she needed time to process things and I'm therefore trying to give her the time she needs. If I go in with a message saying that I miss her three days in I'll have essentially not listened to her request of wanting to be alone and get things sorted with her life. If I text her now for us to reconcile, yes I'll have the thoughts burning deep inside my head about me being a sitting duck and doing nothing erased , but in turn my message might drive her further away than we are now. I won't have given her time to process her feelings and therefore she might act defensively and push me further away because I will have unintentionally disrupted her way through healing. So no, at least in my opinion, we wont be in the same place after it , we'll be even further from it. And so I decided to give it a bit more thought. I decided to look at the situation from her perceptive. She's struggling right now and our fight, although I'd like to think it was significant to her , might not be the biggest of her problems right this second . And so I'll wait until she's ready , if she never is then I'll have to learn to be okay with that. Time heals all Have a wonderful day!
Very true brother, in that case give it time and space. "They always come back." The good days always come back, the happiness always comes back, love (maybe not in the same physical form, but in some form) always comes back. Remember that ❤️
Bro for real the storytelling is amazing but above all, the music choices made me feel like we can be great friends!! Made me also realize I should listen to The Smiths and Otis Redding in a calm autumn night like right now. Thanks man…
I think you really love to read of “kahalet” (a Jewish book, part of the tora, writing by king shlomo) which talked and explain part of your point in his book (and many more) of life. He is the first in history to write this meaning of life, the importance of enjoyment in between, 5,000 year ago. ❤
Def some perfect days vibes I was getting right before you said it. What a great movie. I’m really into slowing down these days, disconnecting virtually to comeback into the body/mind. I’m making a video about it too. Will drop it soon, I think you’ll dig it.
he is a very nice man and is definitely going somewhere and the video was terribly good and i love the fact that u tried to reply to every single comment
Life isn’t about Happiness in the first place. It is meaningful suffering, something’s worthy to suffer for. Family for example. Searching Happiness leads to Hedonism, which effect your surroundings negatively.
And meaningful suffering leads to happiness. Searching for pleasure leads to hedonism. Searching for happiness in many cases means the removal of a lot of pleasure. It's the opposite of hedonism
I don't know who will read my comment, but for me, I wage a big war with myself every day in order to improve myself I learn the English language and study in high school 8 to 5It's exhausting... and I exercise... All this war For something I'm not sure I'll ever get Because I want to leave the country I am in.. And I live my life on the streets I love in a cozy home ...But nevertheless, I feel beautiful these days and I feel happy because I have a goal to live for.. But if I don't achieve the goal after all this effor. believe me I will collapse... 👉🏻👈🏻
You're doing great 🫶 Your effort, alone, is your greatness, not necessarily your success. No matter what, you've changed your life in profound ways, and you'll always be beautiful because your beauty is found, not only in your fight and your fighting spirit but also, in your existence! We all have to fight for something, but I think, maybe, what we lose along the way is the innate knowledge that we can actually fight in a peaceful and gentle way. Not like a warlord, not tearing ourselves apart but with bold hearts full of love for ourselves and others, with the right beliefs, and with the way we speak to and about ourselves and others. We knew this when we were children. Activists like MLK Jr., or thoughtful and intuitive souls like Anne Frank, come to mind.
camus' philosophy is not cozy, it's about resistance. yes, you can revolte against the absurdity of life on an individual level by trying to have fun no matter how bad the circumstances, and you sort of HAVE to. but revolting against the absurd also means quite literally revolting against injustice. Camus joined the french resistance and wrote a book called "the pest" which was about doing the "right" thing even if it might kill you because if you don't, you're already infected and doomed to die. also I personally think, individual happiness is an oxymoron since human beings are social beings. i strongly believe that we can't be happy without doing something meaningful, and that this "meaning" comes from a connection to other people. focusing on the smell of good coffee and the morning song of birds will never be enough if we don't do anything we consider truly meaningful. so don't focus on the little things, focus on the big word things (peace, love, justice, art, you name it), because striving for those things gives your life meaning and is a true revolte against all meaninglessness.
when it comes to philosophy my approach has always been the following: take what's useful for me, leave the rest. So, when I read Camus, the parts of his philosophy I love are the thoughts I expressed in this video and just because I love them it doesn't mean I agree with everything Camus says (e.g. I won't join the french resistance hahah). In terms of your second point I absolutely agree. Community has been something I've spoken about in the past on this channel and is absolutely an aspect of life we need. I think it largely comes down to the scope of the video. The video was about simplicity and enjoying small moments. I'm not saying that's all you need to live a meaningful life, but it sure goes a long way.
I heard if you go through the world like you did as a child everything is more beautiful. Be amazed at all the different pebble shapes on the beach, count the seagulls, frolic in a field, smell a flower, climb and balance on a wall. As humans we get bored of things we've seen and done a thousand times over but that's all choice. You can embrace the giddiness again just by choosing to do it with feelings and enjoy it. Take a walk and practice looking around and appreciating things such as the way a bush is woven or the colours of autumn. Nothing actually becomes boring - we do.
Many times we forgot that simple things, are the best. And unfortunately, I see people to realize them when something really bad happens to their health. And then it might be late…Instead imagine living with this mindset, and enjoy every second of your life from now!
being sober and having lots of guitars and living by myself is my simplicity if i hadn't kept it simple i wouldn't have stayed sober. for once i did it. 959 days so far.
This can't be applied to every culture . In Asia the dynamic is really different . West has the luxury and culture to be on your own and that has been there from generations . In my opinion one must focus finding a work or passion which consumes you to let you forget and attain simplicity and central nature in general through work . Most of the time it's the dissatisfaction of work which leads to misery.

Perfect days was truly a game changer of a film, I’ve watched it several times already and I get profound joy in the simple life that he leads. I unfortunately end up falling into the trap of scrolling time and time again however, but I will forever do my best to give it up and fall back to simpler times
Thank you for your work, man. The time and effort you put into these videos clearly are not wasted.
Thank you , really appreciate that ❤️
Thnk you for making such amazing content brother, I have recently explored this concept of embracing the boring and trying to enjoy it, this video is one of the best I have watched today, many a times we get so caught up in living for the next big thing, we forget majority of life is just chasing it, and thats where the magic and fun lies. Thanks for this video, wish you lots of success and love❤
Thank you bro , appreciate that
Thank you, I needed this today. Subscribed!
This, every morning. Thanks man, really needed it.
I'm glad you got some value from it ❤️
The way he is replying to almost everybody is so sweet
♥️♥️
I actually really enjoyed this, thank you.
In this world of instant and constant dopamine rush, the art of living a life of boredom is real 💯
What a beautiful video to stumble upon. Thank you mate, this was lovely
Thank you man , appreciate that ❤️
that's how I'd like to live my life, even though I am just 18.
A very good way to live your life brother 🙏
The quality of the cinematography is just wow.. i can’t differentiate whether i’m watching a RUclipsr or a movie scene. Damn nailed it.
Hahahah thank you brother really appreciate that ❤️

This video spoke to me directly, I was here in my room all alone thinking how life seemed to have lost its meaning then, saw this video, totally agree.
I'm glad you got some value from it brother ❤️
@@TomHurls Its amazing how I and most of us are in a similar mentality to come back to a time when we did not have the internet , going back to a time where we valued stuff that bought us hapiness, not materialism , but just some community and purpose. I myself am suffering from a little bit of loneliness and a little bit of phone addiction. Trying to get back some satisfaction out of my life. Glad I found your channel. I really like your production quality and story telling. Looking forward to more videos.
Where have you been these years man. So calming to see this type of video these days☺️Love from INDIA 🇮🇳 and subscribed 😄

I'm glad you got some value from it brother 🙏
Spot on. Beautiful. Thanks. I can really relate. 🙏💖🕯️💐
thank you , really appreciate that, glad you got some value from it
I think Happiness is inversely proportional to the desires a Man has. Less the desires a person has more he is happy, and this is indeed true ✌✌☮☮
Very true 🙌🙌
That’s the essence of Buddhism right there.
I found and read the Myth of Sisyphus when I was 18, and it really clicked. 24 years later, I find I've kind of forgotten that simplicity. Thanks for the reminder.
I'm glad you got some value from the video brother
That is not happiness, that is just being, a plain and simple being, an accepted being, it is what it is being.
and just being is a happy state at least in my view.
RUclips recommendations never fails to surprise me.
Thanks for inspiring and motivating everyone to lead life with simplicity, enjoying every little moment 😊 I simply loved your content 💗 Keep growing! Love from India ❤
thank you, big love back ❤️
I love the record player. I grew up listening to music that way. I would lie on the couch and truly listen to it. It was beautiful.
It's the best way to do it hahaha still spend many an evening exactly like that
The content and video quality is immaculate! Keep up with the good job :))
Thank you man , appreciate that a lot ❤️
Time heals all
Have a wonderful day!
Very true brother, in that case give it time and space. "They always come back." The good days always come back, the happiness always comes back, love (maybe not in the same physical form, but in some form) always comes back. Remember that ❤️
First time ive watched a video, in full, before reading the comments in a while. thankyou
Hahaha what a compliment, thank you brother ❤️
Bro for real the storytelling is amazing but above all, the music choices made me feel like we can be great friends!! Made me also realize I should listen to The Smiths and Otis Redding in a calm autumn night like right now. Thanks man…
Hahahah thank you brother , it's the best music for right now. Song rec: that lucky old sun by Louis Armstrong
And st james infirmary by him too
@@TomHurls thank you for the recs!
Hahaha nice man , look forward to it
he is a very nice man and is definitely going somewhere and the video was terribly good and i love the fact that u tried to reply to every single comment
Hahaha thank you very much , really appreciate that ❤️❤️
Beautiful as always man, thanks for doing what you do.
Thank you brother , really appreciate that ❤️
Life isn’t about Happiness in the first place.
@@TomHurls exactly
I meant instant happiness
I don't know who will read my comment, but for me, I wage a big war with myself every day in order to improve myself I learn the English language and study in high school 8 to 5It's exhausting... and I exercise... All this war For something I'm not sure I'll ever get Because I want to leave the country I am in.. And I live my life on the streets I love in a cozy home ...But nevertheless, I feel beautiful these days and I feel happy because I have a goal to live for.. But if I don't achieve the goal after all this effor. believe me I will collapse... 👉🏻👈🏻
You're doing great 🫶
Your effort, alone, is your greatness, not necessarily your success.
This feels like a mix of stoicism and existentialism
camus' philosophy is not cozy, it's about resistance. yes, you can revolte against the absurdity of life on an individual level by trying to have fun no matter how bad the circumstances, and you sort of HAVE to. but revolting against the absurd also means quite literally revolting against injustice.
Nothing actually becomes boring - we do.
very well said 🙌
This helped a lot brother
Thanks for such an amazing video ❤
no worries man, glad you got some value
I watched the movie Perfect Life after you mentioned it. Loved the movie, thank you :)
Many times we forgot that simple things, are the best. And unfortunately, I see people to realize them when something really bad happens to their health. And then it might be late…Instead imagine living with this mindset, and enjoy every second of your life from now!
Ακριβώς 🙌🙌
@ you speak Greek??🇬🇷

thank you brother , appreciate that. get back to creating 🙌
I thought that video had some good points. We might as well smile at life, find the silver side in all things
Exactly 🙌
This can't be applied to every culture . In Asia the dynamic is really different . West has the luxury and culture to be on your own and that has been there from generations . In my opinion one must focus finding a work or passion which consumes you to let you forget and attain simplicity and central nature in general through work . Most of the time it's the dissatisfaction of work which leads to misery.
Beautiful video Tom, thank you💕
Thank you, appreciate that ❤️
2:47 who else thought he was the one whistling here? 😭
