    I have a question my man, in what phase do I cut the steems, can I cut them when they are flowering?

    • @GanjajuanaMan
      @GanjajuanaMan  5 лет назад +25

      Ideally, you will cut them in veg, a week or two before the plant go's into flowering. but Yes you Can also take cuttings during flower. They may take a little longer to root & then they have to revert back to an 18 - 6 veg cycle.
      It takes a little longer but yes, I'm about to do that myself.
      To get roots I make a half strength Flowering mix &
      This is a plants Best friend. I add some N.P.K.RAW, Kelp to the mix.
      When you add that, it stimulates root growth at All stages of plant growth.
      When you add that to a foler spray, it will temporarily stunt top growth & promote side branching, making huge bushes Very easy to grow.

    • @GanjajuanaMan

      Yes, in Canada it can be bought/ordered from "Indoor Farmer" & it can be found on Amazon but on Amazon sometimes they try to charge too much for it. An 8 ounce bag costs around $30-$40 Canadian.

    Bud, the simplicity of this design is brilliant. $300-400 for a closer in most hydro shops. You get a clear tote type setup and fuck does it look slick, but what is the end game? Cloning great plants..... your design can be picked up and moved with ease, you can build 10 of these bucket cloners for the price of a pro made cloner. The spray heads can be purchased that spray 90 and 180 degrees to concentrate the water spray direction. Again ......great video .....love it

    • @GanjajuanaMan
      @GanjajuanaMan  4 года назад +3

      Thank you for your comment !
      I don't mind supporting good products, but the prices they are charging for simple things is just ridicules. Because you still have to put those expensive ones together, so they are No easier, just cost more. WTF. Yesterday I searched "hydroponics" on Amazon.ca & saw packages of sprayers. 150 in a pack that had 360, 180 & 90 degree sprayers in one pack for under $20
      Recently I have seen people selling something called
      auto-pots, & again they are ripping people off at over $300
      when you can make a better system for a fraction of the price. I don't like to be ripped off & I don't like to see other people get ripped off. That might be my next video, I'll give it some thought.
      Thanks for watching.

    I believe an airpump wit stones n net pots would be better. Those submerged pumps get the water to hot and those dang sprayers clog to easy. Set your airpump in the coolest spot in the room or in a different room with longer lines. To keep water temp down.
    Oh yeah and with net pots wit hydroton the heat that does build up in the bucket can escap out the top. Again keeping the temp down.

    • @Metqa
      @Metqa Год назад +1

      Your suggestion about using net cups would allow the rooted plants to be lifted out by the net cups and immediately set into a separate hydroponic tank, without a lot of fussing about the roots or stem. Neat idea.

    Made 1 out of a fish pump and a hose with holes . It sprayed around the inside to the top of the lid with foam inserts. It took 3 days to form roots and 10 days to fully get roots to tranplant. It works really good and ill be doing it again next cloning.

    The issues I have with this is that the little sprayers gets clogged up, every other day etc. l had my DIY cloners buckets etc out in the garage but in the summertime especially living in south Florida, the water inside the bucket will heat up. If I had a garage with ac running in there, it would had solved the whole problem. Once the water temperature hits 80 degrees it just kills the roots. You need to keep the water temperature around 70 to 75 degrees, give and take some. So I've started making cloners out of ice coolers so the water would stay cooler inside. But the temperature started climbing up through the day. you can always throw bottles of frozen water in the cooler which will bring the temperature down temporally. But it'll go up slowly again. So this year I converted the aeroponics into a hydroponics deep water culture cloner. Using a air pump and air stones to bring oxygen into the water. This way the temperature stays stable throughout the day around 74 degrees. Mostly because there's much more water in it about 10 gallons more compared to having only a gallon of water in it with the aeroponics system. So this summer It's all about deep water cloning.
    I haven't decided yet to add any nutrients in it yet. But I just ordered a couple of aquarium sponge filters to keep the water clean.

    This is an aeroponic cloner, not a hydroponic. The stems are suspended in air, and you spray water on them. In a hydroponic cloner, the stems would stay in water, and have air bubble around them.

    Cool! I invented a similar device, but more simplified. I have one using a 3 gallon bucket and another 1 gallon bucket, using a large round airstone glued to the bottom of the smaller bucket, and one hydro spout glued in the larger bucket. I too made 2 inch holes but I dropped in net pots which I can use whatever medium I want or none at all and they still root vigorously! I also have 2 inch plastic covers with hole in the middle and a slit on the side ( to place or remove from plant stem) to cover the hole so no light gets in. I also use a clear plastic bowl from the Dollar store to cover the 3 gal, and a smaller one from a cake container for the 1 gallon to use as domes. Of course I use a cloning solution and low fluorescent light and I have 95 - 100% success rate. Cheers Brother!

    • @GanjajuanaMan
      @GanjajuanaMan  5 лет назад +5

      Kelp falls into the "Beneficial" category not the "Essential" category of nutrients. There are many products on the market for rooting in hydro cloners, most cost a lot. I bought an 8 ounce bag of N.P.K. RAW Kelp powder 4 years ago & still have lots left. A little go's a long way with that stuff. A lot of people spend lots of money on Giberilic acid for rooting, but it is an extract of Kelp, so save money & buy kelp & get the Giberilic acid + all the other beneficial nutrients that are in Kelp.

      I add N.P.K. Kelp powder into a flowering mixture, I take clones 6" tall & shred the stem a little bit at the end & I scrape the stem a little so that roots can sprout from more parts of the stem then just the end. for rooting I have a 24 watt T5 grow light on 24/7 under a dome, I open the dome once every day for fresh air.
      9 out of 10 times I get roots in under 10 days.
      But N.P.K. Kelp powder is your plants best friend.
      Thanks for watching.

      I noticed that roots grow faster in dark environment. I painted my deep water cloner black and make sure theres no light that makes it inside the machine. First time i did this it worked and the second time i did it just got all green with algae.

    only suggestion would be to use a cheap cake lid (think walmart round cake) to put on top to keep humidity in.

    I need to make 30,000 Hazelnut clones. Do you think its possbile to do it with this methode?

      Your gonna need a lot of buckets lol.

      Probably better off doing rockwool cubes under a humidity dome for high volumes of clones. The aero system in this vid is probably better for root development and early growth performance vs a rockwool cube, but may not be cost effective for anybody doing more than a small room of 6-12 plants.
      Occasionally online resalers (OfferUp, craigslist, etc) may be selling food grade buckets for very cheap ($20 retail vs. $5 resale), which does bring down one of the major portions of the cost of this design. Something to think about.

      If you are still looking if you just buy a pool noodle and cut it up they work great.
