Shot! First view, first comment, yay... The Dr. Strangelove one on the shelf in this Criterion haul video reminds me I first saw the film a few months ago on a friend's Criterion channel and it was so crisp, it's mesmerizing. The black and white war room scenes with generals blowing smoke in the background is just so gorgeous.
@@thetrison Yes! I agree with you about Dr Strangelove. Looks soooo good on Criterion Blu-ray. A lot of details put into it. Fingers crossed we get Eyes Wide Shut on Criterion.
Great pick ups! I need to watch In Cold Blood still. I heard good things about it. Also I got Blue Velvet 4K and I might get others before the sale ends
@@CantArticulate Love hearing that! I own Blue Velvet & can say that the Blu-ray looks outstanding. Look forward to seeing your review on Letterboxd. First time watching it?
@ That’s awesome! Will be curious to hear how you like that & Inland Empire. Blue Velvet’s a gorgeous looking film. Good companion piece with Happiness & American Beauty.
@@CantArticulate Great pickups! They both look excellent on Criterion Blu-ray. Can’t wait to hear how you like American Beauty on rewatch! I’ll be rewatching it before the end of the year too!
Great choices guys! I really enjoyed the video. Thanks!
@@ElliotCoen Thank you! Appreciate you watching. Did you do a criterion haul yet for this month?

Hmmmm. "Werkmeister Harmonies" or "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"? Bela Tarr or Stanley Kramer? 145 minutes or 210 minutes? Tough call...
@@bacarandii For context: One is glacially paced & the other is fast paced😂.
