Good lord this music gives feels. When I hear this music, especially at 1:16, I think of the anger that Chewie, Leia, and even Lando feel towards the empire and Boba Fett for freezing Han and taking him to Jabba the Hutt. It's like yes we get to escape on the Millenium Falcon and save our skins, but Han is gone, and that really sucks...then I think of episode 7 too.
+Tyler Crane Rey and Finn felt the exact same way, but without episode 5, I still do not think they necessarily have the right to be sad, they've only known him for like a couple of days or hours, they did not have as strong as a connection like Leia, Chewie, and especially Lando had with Han

I advise everyone to leave before more Imperial troops arrive. Artoo takes off a computer cover and sticks his computer arm into the socket. Suddenly, a short beep turns into a wild scream. Artoo's circuits light up, his head spins wildly, and smoke begins to seep out underneath him. Quickly, Chewie pulls him away. LANDO This way. Lando, Leia, Artoo, and Chewie flee down the corridor. As he scoots along with them, Artoo sends some angry beeps Threepio's way. THREEPIO Don't blame me. I'm an interpreter. I'm not supposed to know a power socket from a computer terminal. INT. CLOUD CITY - CORRIDOR In a panic, Cloud City residents are trying to get out of the city. Some carry boxes, others packages. They run, then change direction. Some are shooting at stormtroopers, others simply try to hide. Other stormtroopers pursue Lando, Leia, and Chewie who are firing back at them. Artoo works on another door to the landing platform while Threepio berates him for his seeming ineptitude. THREEPIO What are you talking about? We're not interested in the hyperdrive on the Millennium Falcon. It's fixed! Just open the door, you stupid lump. Chewie, Leia, and Lando retreat along the corridor. A triumphant beep from Artoo - and the door snaps open. THREEPIO (to Artoo) I never doubted you for a second. Wonderful! Artoo lays a cloud fog, obscuring everything, as the group dashes outside. EXT. LANDING PLATFORM - CLOUD CITY - DUSK They race for the Millennium Falcon as a battalion of stormtroopers reaches the main door. Lando and Leia hold off the troops as the droids get on board with Chewie. As Chewie bounds to the ship the Threepio on his back, Threepio hits his head on the top of the ramp. THREEPIO Ouch! Oh! Ah! That hurt. Bend down, you thoughtless... Ow! Chewie starts up the ship. The giant engines begin to whine as Lando and Leia race up the ramp under a hail of laser fire. LANDO Leia! Go! INT. MILLENNIUM FALCON - CORRIDOR Artoo drags the partially assembled Threepio down the corridor of the Falcon. THREEPIO I thought that hairy beast would be the end of me. Of course, I've looked better. Artoo beeps understandingly. INT. MILLENNIUM FALCON - COCKPIT Chewie works the controls as Leia sits in Han's seat and Lando watches over their shoulders. As Chewie pulls back on the throttle, the ship begins to move. EXT. CLOUD CITY - LANDING PLATFORM - DUSK The Millennium Falcon lifts gracefully into the twilight sky and roars away from the city. Troops fire after it and TIE fighters take off in pursuit.
One of the greatest movie scores of all time for the most awesome science fiction universe ever created...still gives me goosebumps to this very day...
I just saw the Star Wars VII and it was awesome and it was my first Star Wars movie to watch in a movie theater I seen all the other movies but this is the only one so far that I saw in a theater but honestly it didn't feel the same as the other ones.
They will all have a different feel, the prequels feel different to the originals, and I think the new trilogy feels closer to the originals because of its future setting. That's just my opinion, some say it feels like the prequels on a better scale though

There is so much magic to this music. I love this iconic piece. Today I watched episode 7 of Acolyte. After the abysmal 40 minutes of the runtime the credits came on and R&B started playing, I just couldn’t believe how far gone the Star Wars culture has gone. This music invoked a call to action, suspense, excitement. I find myself humming this every now and then. That R&B score will be forgotten by tomorrow. Such a shame to the work of John Williams.
One of the best and most underrated scores in all of star wars and easily one of my very favorites, it perfectly fits for a scenario where your holding off someone or something dangerous long enough to give your friends and loved ones enough time to escape and rendezvous with them soon after.
That strings crescendo at 1:34... just, damn! You don't just hear it, you FEEL it. Do yourself a favor and start at 1:30. Get that whole build up. I know no one compares to the greatest classical composers like Bach or Beethoven, but as far as modern composers go, John Williams has that "it" factor. No one today conveys emotion through music better. He has convincingly brought to life the most fantastical of stories and helped along even the most stubborn and reluctant imaginations. The music of John Williams has the power to make us all kids again.
Y'all are sleeping on 0:51 to 1:16. Listening to it, I can't help but picture a roguish pilot taking a breath before shouting, "Hold on!" Then pushing the throttle to its edge and pulling the center stick to its limit as they pull off a crazy, daring maneuver. Pushing their aged ship to what they know is its limit in a high-G turn.
There is such a brilliance to Empire’s score that the other films really fail to live up to. It’s not my favorite film in the Saga (Ep 4 is unbeatable for me) but it draws emotion out of me the other films simply can’t. That’s the magic of Kershner baby!
1:16 I would go on the last level of Empire Strikes Back on Lego Star Wars, turn on Invincibility, and just stand there and listen to this song.

There is such a brilliance to Empire’s score that the other films really fail to live up to. It’s not my favorite film in the Saga (Ep 4 is unbeatable for me) but it draws emotion out of me the other films simply can’t. That’s the magic of Kershner baby!
