Dont know how far this is true, but according to Stefano Scarlata an Italian who first broke the news about Danse Macabre, the next Duran Duran single is called Black Moonlight and will be relased on September 22 (yes this month) and will have Andy Taylor and Nile Rodgers on guitar! Cant wait for it!
And he will be a friend. Nile Rodgers is amazing as well as a great songwriter and Andy on this new track I always suspected that Andy was not only going to play the covers but also one of the new tracks. I even wonder if it's more powerful than Danse Macabre let's wait for the 22nd of this month
@@nnunes_vc If you love Nile Rogers, check out a couple tunes from Jonathan Bree's latest album. Pre-Code Hollywood and Miss You both feature Nile, and you can instantly tell. Both are absolutely amazing tracks.
I like the sound of this in relation to the dark side of Duran Duran. Something that one can see in their videos such as Out of My Mind, for instance. Also glad that Andy and Warren are back, at least for this album.
Love this song SO much, Simon’s rap even grew on me. It’s pitch perfect for a Duran Duran Halloween song - groovy, atmospheric, campy, ethereal, dark. Bam!
It's not rap. It's a rhyme. Nothing more, nothing less. Been going on since the early 1900s in many different forms of music. Vaudville, country, popular, limericks, etc etc
Love the structure of this catchy, dark, moody single.... duran duran never cease to amaze me in always finding a new sound! ... this is one of the very best in recent years 💯%
I’m sad to admit that I feel the same. Love the atmospheric sound, but can’t stand Simon’s vocals in this song. Been a lifelong fan and this is the first song I can’t stomach due to that. It’s very poor rapping and doesn’t play to his remarkable strengths. But I understand why he’s interested in trying something new.
Your review of Dance Macabre is spot on. I really like how DD incorporated their iconic dark and haunting sound into this song. This song rapidly wins you over with its catchy tune and Nick Rhode's brilliance. Perfect spooky Halloween song for college and high school Halloween parties.
I am totally in love with this song! I literally can't get enough of it! It's a smorgasbord of sounds, but it works. A definite pre-order for me too! I've seen a lot of people call it rap, but it sounds more "spoken word" to me (and to me, there is a difference). More Bedroom Toys or White Lines than 911.
Wow, just wow. First music i've listened to from them for a long time. After rediscovering them on youtube i came across this and thought it was from some unfinished anthology 20-30 years ago. This is awesome and certainly worthy of them.😁👌
Been a fan since high school in the early 80s. This song is the first I’ve been excited about in ages. Future past didn’t do much for me. This is good!
Omg funny how different the reactions are. I think Future Past is amazing! An incredible merging of their classic sound with the new. I think it’s their best record in decades - maybe since the Wedding Album.
This song 🎵 has really grown on me, and I truly love the way this song has been produced and recorded!! Love the way that Nicks synthesized sound is in the background!!
Was andy, as the sound editor, trying to put warren’s guitars to sound less in the background? Was he envious of warren playing guitar on dance macabre? Could be a conspiracy theory i think.
I heard of an Mp3 Night Version of Dance Macabre on a Duran Duran Facebook group someone uploaded, which you can actually hear more clearly Warren’s Guitars 🎸
What a song! There's rhythm, suspense, beautifull synth lines and a lead guitar that got to come from Warren, because is very similar to Hothead from the Liberty album. And the video is a must see!! Great DD puppets, particularly Nick and John. An expected album, with originals, covers and recovered old tracks, and the all gang together, including Andy, Nile Rodgers and Warren Cucurrullo. A can't wait!!
They haven't played it live though I'm hoping that means that they'll come back around for a 2nd rendition of the tour. They do open the tour with a darker version of Nightboat though which will be on the new album. It comes out on Simon's birthday -- what a great gift!
Really like it. Catchy as hell. The video is wicked too . Thanks for letting me/us know about Warren's involvement. I hadn't heard that yet. Really looking forward to this album!!
Wonderful new dark brunette hair! We admire your sense of creative style and flair that you combine with your very thorough reviews of my absolutely favorite band, Duran Duran. I hope to see a video of you reviewing the entire Danse album. I’m deeply in love with Confessions in the Afterlife and would like to hear your thoughts & insights. Thanks!
I love Danse Macabre and I'm very excited with the new album.... I'm listening to it non stop, If you don't mind I liberate your danse macabre....thanks you for your excellent video with a great outfit again, greetings from Portugal.
I love Medazzaland in other tracks, I won't say that they are all and there are several. But the doubt about Medazzaland will be the new documentary or will the band come back on one of the Medazzaland tracks?
GK, first of all congratulations on your new song that's now on Spotify. It's really well done, and I think it would be a nice gesture if everyone that checks out your DD reviews would also visit your Spotify account to give it a listen. I'm really looking forward to the new album for a variety of reasons. I think the band operates best in the moody, dissonant space and when Nick makes an album a priority like he has with this one, it usually turns out well. You questioned whether they were coming out with all new tracks but since they've been on tour the past two years and Simon needs time to develop lyrics, that wasn't going to happen this quickly. This, along with getting Andy and Warren back to participate on this album (as well as Nile), was the best solution.
Thank you for much for taking the time to listen to my track. I'm really glad you enjoyed it too. I am really looking forward to a new Duran Duran album. :)
firstly your new look is beautiful and cool Duran never fails always inventive i cant get the tune out of my head its very got to get you out of my mind my fav songs do you belive in shame do you belive in love antartica all haunting x
We saw it live at Blossom in Ohio without the video, just lighting effects. The video was released in the States on MTV the night of September 13 prior to them playing live that night in DC. Live, the bass part is thumpin' ridiculous, and the keyboards ethereal. Their backup singers are phenomenal.
Esto suena muy estilo de medazzaland y un poco al proyector de warren y nick llamado tvmania que emocion sentir el sonido de WC nuevamente en DD seria genial que lo integraran al grupo ❤ 🎸
Not sure about Simon's attempts at rapping but I likes the swirling keys & grinding guitars. Nice to have Warren contributing on axe again. Look forward to hearing Andy's contribution on the tracks he plays on too.
I guess I am in the minority because I don’t consider this rapping but it reminds me more of a tongue in cheek carnival barker. It’s meant to be cheeky I think.
@@aimeebella1 I'm getting your drift Aimee. I'm getting used to it & appreciating the song more as a whole now. I really like the "If you don't mind" part.
Hey, G-Kitty, Great new look! Love the critique of 'Danse.' Duran's Oct 31, 2022 performance at the Encore Theatre in Las Vegas featured Ghost Town, Nightboat, Paint It Black, Psycho Killer, Spellbound and Supernature.
