Szanowna Pani Edyto Mydłowska, Jak się masz? Z przyjemnością wysłucham Twojej utalentowanej sztuki. To wspaniała gra. Jestem pod ogromnym wrażeniem Twojej sztuki. Brzmienie jest głębokie, Twój ma (po francusku) tego rosyjskiego kompozytora z początku XX wieku. Innymi słowy, twój występ jest „PERFECT”.
Listened serveral times and it seems to me more and more a really masterwork . Well played by Edyta and professionel followed by this Scottiish orchestra.
Beautifully played Edyta, throughout my time at music college this was my wake up music in the morning before going to college (V. Ashkenazy/ Decca). Lovely memories, thank you Edyta.
Aww I played this exact same concerto for my college masters assessment a few months ago, but unfortunately I can’t share the recording on here as it was an amateur orchestra and the members prefer to have their privacy protected, so I totally respect that as I don’t want to make them uncomfortable showing the result of all their dedication just because it’s me performing!!! I love it when the pianist is on a fairground ride with the orchestra with all the harmony and incredible textures!!! I feel so blessed to study Scriabin over a number of years like his late preludes and some of the 5th sonata, but didn’t think I’d perform the concerto!!! I read interesting information on the piece and there was so much disapproval on the initial premiere of the work, including the orchestra drowning the piano out and it was all just noise-I suppose the way it was orchestrated was experimental like doubling winds and strings. BTW It’s so hard to put the piano together with the orchestra because Scriabin is so specific with what he wants!!!
Bravo Rachel Starritt ! You are writing about yourself and not at all about this performance. ...poor your boyfriend, I feel sorry for him (if you have one at all)🤣🤣
Felicitaciones! A la gran pianista Edyta Mydlows por su magnífica interpretación de este bello y complejo concierto. Excelente virtuosismo. Bendiciones desde México.
This is an excellent account by both soloist and conductor and his orchestra !I've listened to the Scriabin concerto many times and still find it uninteresting . The playing here is wonderful.Richer recorded it and toured with it.Don't know what he saw in it .Prometheus is interesting for many reasons but it is not something that grabs many .How Ashkenazy got Argerich to bother with it yet she doesn't programme the Sonatas or smaller fantastic pieces is beyond me . 5:38 heralds the film music to come in 30 years . Orchestration and harmony very imaginative !
Maybe competitions will be more open to 20th century works and late 19th century works in concerto competitions after that REFERENCE DEFINITIVE performance of the D-min Rach at the Van Cliburn this year
love the choice of this underperformed brilliant piece of musical history! ❤❤ unfortunately, as with so many recordings of piano concertos, the nuances of the piano part are too often drowned out by the forte-s of the orchestra, which is to the detriment of the 3rd mov. in particular. beautiful work by the pianist, though! 👍❤
I have certainly noticed reincarnations of some of the major composers of the 19th century, especially such of Brahms, Dvořák, Mahler, and Bruckner. So I'd absolutely love to hear under what name a reincarnated Scriabin has performed the concerto presented here in October of 1987, as he has done it according to the description.
While both the pianist and orchestra played great, I found they were often quite noticeably out of sync, and to a far greater extent than some others I’ve heard. The piano is often speeding ahead of the orchestra which bothered me a bit, but overall the performance was still quite good. My favorite is still Pletnev’s live recording though.
I can't even comprehend Scriabin's thought process when composing his works. One in a billion kind of person, a gift from the Gods.
8:31 … I can not describe how beautiful this concerto is with words.
Ich Weine auch beim zweiten Satz...IMMER😢

Such amazing performance, BRAVA!
Congratulation to everybody, nice work !
Her wonderful performance embodies the musical aesthetics of Scriabin, and promotes spiritual uplift and awakening
It's a very good Concert that should be interpreted more often. Miss Mydlowska plays it beautifully. Liked it. 🎶💎👍❤️
Moved to tears. Thanks to RUclips allowing me to follow the score.
I think that the girl has a great sense of the touch for the use of multilevel dynamics. Amazing!
She's soooo good. Thank you for sharing this.
has deserved way more attention. one of the best live recordings ive seen online.
One of my favorite concertos, and a great performance!! Wish Scriabin wrote more orchestral work
Excellent performance of a beautiful piano concerto. Well balanced and very romantic. Wonderful 2nd movement and apotheotic ending. Congratulations.

This concerto is such a masterpiece. And to think its the only one he wrote is even more badass
Totally listenable. Wonderful performance by soloist and orchestra.

Lovely romantic music
Symphonic piano concerto.
Such a beautiful piano concerto.it should be played in competitions instead of the usual Tchaiikovsky OP23 or rachmaninov OP30.
Totally agree! Thanks for comment :--)

The entry of horn is not satisfactory
Good soundtrack for a Hollywood film. Not much else.
Great understanding of Scriabins's music.
premiered in October 1887
