  • We are currently working on building an Evo 10. We are talking about what it takes to make 500 whp and showing along the way our journey to 650 whp. This video will show the tuning aspect of everything. And honestly it didn’t go according to plan. Watch me either make 650whp or break something either way it should be alot of fun.

    Just found your channel. I'm on the journey to 600whp myself. Through numerous amounts of research, i found 550-650whp on pump/E85 is plenty for the street. If an when the stock bottem end does go, then you can always rebuild with forged internals, sleeves, then aim higher. I'm currently at 380whp on my stock turbo, with stock ex-mani & stock dp on E85. It was a big jump from stock at 244whp on a dynojet. But it got old, your body gets used to it, i got used to it within 6 months then it started to feel slow to me, stock-like. Although that will change next year with a 62mm turbo, map cast mani, a bigger DP (possibly open dump to negate backpressure), & GSC s2 cams with springs/retainers. Hoping for 550whp, but id be happy with 600 on E85. Then id personally just keep it there an enjoy the car as it sits.

    Congrats on the 600whp mark. Glad you sharing this progress with everyone. Helps a lot for people that want to go same route. Also shows that all these guys claiming crazy numbers on these setups with the other turbos on virtual dynos is nothing but lies. English racing is the truth. This should clear things out lol 😉

      @@studentdriverrs1043 You can do a dyno hit at that HP (650 HP) and maybe some street hits for awhile. Rolling on the accelerator will also prolong life slightly. Doing digs and constantly mashing the gas from 3K RPM, it aint gonna last IMO.

    Sidewinder time? I set my Evo X goals a bit lower, 400-450 on 94OCT, but I have a lot of similar parts so it's nice to see them giving me a bit of a buffer :) Best of luck on the goals!

    That’s really odd this car didn’t make much more than what people have made on a 3076 and it’s suppose to be running a 3582.
    But then again it’s very easy to get wrapped up in numbers. I wouldn’t say another set of cars didn’t make power just because yours can’t make that power. ER does great stuff but there are still great tuners out there that can tune the 4b11 using a non VD and still crank out numbers and the cars last.

    • @jacgalant2008
      @jacgalant2008 3 года назад

      @@studentdriverrs1043 well of course the stock exhaust housing is the limitation compared to the non stock frame aka stock location turbos is the same variant.
      My personal 4b11 made 585 on an ATP 3076, consistently tracked on road courses as well. That’s why it’s surprising to me that a 3582 car would be so low for power, especially when the car made decent power on pump gas previously if I’m not mistaken you’ve said it was 550 whp. Is the ATP a gen 2 or gen 1.

      @jacgalant2008 3 года назад

      @@studentdriverrs1043 on my 3076 i was on a stock bottom end with bolt ons and jun cams. I ran an open dump as well. I’m going to say there is a bottleneck in your set up somewhere for sure.
      I’m running a 3582 on a built 2.0 so I’ll be able to max that out.

    • @jacgalant2008
      @jacgalant2008 3 года назад

      @@studentdriverrs1043 the turbo itself aren’t new, the ATPs have been out for a while. But like i said I would review your setup to look over everything and see. But it’s your choice to see if you want to move with more power.
      But I would be careful saying all the things about tuners and other cars not making power.

    So wait. I just finished watching the rest of the video. Don't sleep on a street tune bro. Some of the cars that are street tuned are actually backing up the numbers showing vids of them beating high end cars like Hellcats, AMG's and M's. The dyno is a great tool, but every "Good" dyno operator ends up finalizing the tune on the street after they take it off of the rollers. The dyno is great and best way to dial in the timing curve to its full potential, but can only simulate road conditions. Yes their are a number of street tune cars especially in Florida that seem to have inflated dyno numbers lol. Not gonna say that is false. However, Their have been lots of guys with big turbo setups making real 650whp even on dyno with stock bottom end. I was happy and kept my motor around 550whp when it was stock and kept it safe at that level for years. Also, you seem like a guy that likes to be on the safe side. I wouldn't recommend running ID1300's north of 600whp for very long. The fact that Aaron had to bump your base pressure means that your IDC is maxed and over 100%. No safety margin left on the table here. Sure you may be fine for some time, but its super risky. Anyway, enjoy the car man, its amazing how much different going from 550whp- 650whp is eh? Makes 550whp feel like a basic bolt on car lol.
