Is there a low profile model? I have difficulty using full sized hearing protection when shooting my precision rifles. Also, I'm happy you pointed out the reasons to 'double up' on hearing protection. Thanks for your review.
Hey brother, thanks very much for watching, and great question. I am not sure if they do make a low profile, but that would be awesome if they did. And absolutely, doubling up is always a good idea.
Hey how do these stack up against Howard Leights and Walker Razors? I'm interested in shooting long-term and don't mind dropping quite some money if it means I can my hearing the way it is haha
I can’t really compare against others I’ve never used but I can tell you these sound like they stop a lot more noise than your average hardware store pair. They are actually quite comfy as well despite being a little bulky. A trade off I am willing to make because my ears are huge and I can never find a pair that can fit me lol. I like them. And hey at least if you get something else you can always use these as a spare. :)
I bought a set of 3M Peltors but they are uncomfortable after about 15 mins of wearing because of too much suction on my ears. I am only using earmuffs for studying, can you confirm if these would be more comfortable
That’s a very subjective question to try to answer objectively. Everybody has a different tolerance and different size ears. If you’re getting it off Amazon, you can always return it if you don’t like it so the worst that’s going to happen is you’ll order them and try them and end up having to send them back because they don’t fit or they’re uncomfortable or they’re gonna be perfect then you’ll just keep them, but unfortunately, this is not something I can answer
These definitely do stick out a little, in that they are not necessarily 'low profile' - however I have not had an issue shooting with any of my rifles using them - so I imagine they'd work fine in most applications :)
Decibel Defense is too expensive to buy in Canada. The price on average is $38+ dollars or more. Not including the import fees on Amazon Canada's site. It is cheaper to use foam ear plugs and a hardware store noise reduction ear muffs together. If Decibel Defense was the American price, it would be worth it, but for some reason Amazon Canada's pricing is just more expensive.
That goes for anything with respect to importing into the country. But when compared to similar products it’s actually still a really good price, and if you get it on Amazon you don’t have to worry about paying any fees to a courier because it’s all included in the price.
@@canadianoperator Currently all the Decibel Defense ear muffs that are sold on Amazon Canada for $38+ and import fees may apply are from the merchant Decibel Defense.
@@alanguages I’m aware of the price :) but generally on Amazon import duties are visible when you check out. And, they often don’t exist on orders under 60$ or are already included in the price.
@@canadianoperator I personally would wait for a deal. Amazon Canada has them time to time, but on average they seem more expensive, than the main Amazon website in the USA. Nothing has beaten the foam earplugs. Even the replacement Decibel Defense parts ($17+) is almost as expensive as a brand new Warehouse ear muffs.

Long time ago I've got popular Howard Leight's impact sport because they are low profile (i.e don't touch the stock). How would this compare?

higher number for decibel better or lower for ear protectors?
Generally the higher the number the more sound blocked.
@@canadianoperator so if the label says db29 and another says db25 then one that say db29 is better right?
@@MusicLuv80technically yes, but I’d recommend checking the packaging to make sure.
@@canadianoperator thanks
You think this will work to help with eating and snoring noises?
💯
use wax earplugs. they are magic. do not go in ear canal at all if you use properly. just google war ear plug pillow
Will this work in cutting off train horn noises?
It should reduce any noise by about 32-36db. Not sure of the exact number. It it reduces noise considerably.

Hard pass on those too bulky
Maybe I should reach out to them and see if they make something more compact :)
@@canadianoperator can always try, but better options already exist.
@@sirham2191 Do you have something in mind for me to take a look at in a future video?
@@canadianoperator find some in ear ones makes life easier since your not fighting the earmuffs to get good sight picture
