Awesome watch. :) I've actually wanted for a while now to make it so that when you repel the dancer into the performer they will be dealt damage. May drop it on top of the upcoming DLC to make such runs and the boss fight in general a bit more engaging. We've already expanded on some existing boss fights so may as well!
Ooooh, DLC? Hooray! :D I loved this game, and will definitely pick up any DLC for it. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for an incredible experience with this game.
Technically you can claim complete innocence, as every enemy you encountered with more than 1 hp literally had to make the conscious decision to get half sucked into a black hole after striking you and keep attacking instead of just giving up. Neat.
Grime is a gem and just an amazing game. I had a lot of fun while playing through it and might consider doing the same challenge because of you now : D On a side note: Whenever enemies are flashing yellow actually indicates that you could pull on them like the interactives in the world. With a perk, this would even damage them. So more times to deal damage without a weapon. I understand that this can't help you now anymore Lemon, since you finished already but for anyone out there who like me feels tested to try this now, I am sure it will come in handy.
Just so you know? I bought this game because of this video. And on a more personal note, watching you grow as a content creator has been astounding. My little brother found you when you were just starting out, still under 300 subs, and my God I can't think of anybody else who deserves it half as much as you do. Please never change. Always be the witty, goofy, insanely brilliant person who gives us the incredible gifts that are your videos. Thank you so much.
I really appreciate that you take your time to explain parts of the games super well to where they make sense to people who have never touched them, even though you yourself have likely beaten them already. It makes the videos a lot easier to watch and the challenges easier to follow. Also, it makes the games seem really interesting, like this one for example! Grime looks very cool for what it is.
That's strange. I did stop playing at the boss "final perfomance" because I wasn't in the mood to try hard and this seems hard and quite tedious. But after your video and how you didn't spoil the area after but teasing it in a way that made me want to give it a try again to see what's after. Thanks Backlogs, I'm so curious now, well done. I will beat this guy someday.
I absolutely adore Grime, I 100%ed the game with all the DLC and then went digging into the lore as much as I could. Knowing all that, watching you do this run where you try to only defend yourself hit me surprisingly hard, especially with you picking the ending that makes the whole run make sense. With the way you discussed the last section before Shidra without spoiling it, it sounds like the lore there maybe made your pacifist run hit you harder than expected too! An absolutely phenomenal video, thank you Lemon.
"Perfect practice makes perfect" is a quote i first heard from my highschool music teacher. really surprised to hear it from someone else. ive always thought it reigned way more true than the normal saying.
Aw man I blasted through this one back when it came out and I have played through a bit of the new update. I can attest that Burst Lantern playstyle is extremely satisfying, especially when you use the hand drill that doubles your stacks! But i didnt even know that Resonance also boosts absorb damage which is some dope knowledge. Hope to see a Burst run one day! Or maybe one of the other weirdo lanterns hidden about.
You are always so damn fun to watch, i also like that you keep the audio balanced so even when you are excited and yelling it's not actually louder then your calm speaking voice, and it's good to see you expanding your game options, here's to hoping for Code Vein and Dragon's Dogma!
It's uncanny how much this game both looks and feels like the kind of surrealist art made by mid-90s indie 3DCG artists, but rendered in real time. Half the screenshots from this run could have been submissions for a cover CD for a 90s computer art magazine. At that time, photorealistic humans were impossible, so the only way to avoid uncanny valley was to go completely nuts.
I didn't know of this game before watching but don't regret clicking on the video. The challenge run looked super cool and the game seems beautiful and interesting! Thank you for the video, you always make fun and interesting ones!
You know, mandatory actions shouldn't count against your challenges. If the game *forces* you to use something, then it isn't your choice. So anything that outright bars progression, like requiring you to hit an enemy during a run like this, wouldn't end the run. That's just my two cents, though.
that works for the challenge run(why call it off as long as it is still a challenge), but even you have to agree the question "Can you beat Grime without damaging enemies with a weapon?" is answered with a "no", or "no*" if you want to note that technicality while still making clear that the literal is invalidated
After watching your videos I discovered Salt and Sanctuary. I had never heard of it nor ever played it. I bought it after watching a couple of your videos and absolutely loved the game. I have a feeling the same will happened with this one. Amazing work as always!
I've never heard of this game, and you did a fantastic job at being comedy to what would otherwise be a extremely bleak and depressing game (in my opinion). Keep being awesome Lemon!
Also, I have to say man, your commentary is really awesome. I really enjoy how you react to everything and it's super entertaining to watch. The voiceovers are bomb, too!
I love your videos man, this video essay style combined with your voice really makes the gameplay so much more interesting to watch, keep up the good work man
100k subs. Holy moly. I remember when you had like a few hundred. I was blessed on that day by the algorithm when looking for salt and sanctuary stuff. Look how far you've come man. WELL DONE.
As a big fan of Metroidvanias, I've been tempted to try this game for some time. Just didn't have the time to play yet another game when 2022 has been so packed with new ones. But this video convinced me I really should give it a try when I can!
So I’ve prob clicked on this vid like 4 times now but your voice is so good it’s become one of the people I use a sleep aid. That’s a compliment I promise lol. You iron pineapple northernlion and like Doug Doug are all top go to lol. Hope you can keep making great content and I swear I’ll watch more when I’m awake too.
well the beings in Cenotaph city see you as the endgiver, your purpose is to destroy, if you see it as worthy of your attention, you'd destroy it, if you saw it as not even deserving of your pity, you wouldn't destroy it. I.e, you break it, if you like it
i just beat grime and i think it would have been very cool, if you killed the last boss with parries only, too. i tried it a bit myself, but its super hard, because you can only parry about 2 moves. really cool game, great music and nice bosses and progression, but a bit slow at the beginning. i really enjoyed it. thanks for your videos, they are always cool in one way or another.
1 minute in and I might already be sold on this game; *_Massive_*_ Limbo vibes and im here for it._ Edit: Sidenote 15:45 I genuinely gawked at my screen for a full minute in shock. _Poor guy._
I just started watching your videos recently and they got me back into S&S. I didnt get to watch your livestreams on twitch but i see you all the time on the discord. Anyways your videos are really entertaining. Keep up the good work man.
I want a full story playthrough! I missed out on some of the secrets and dont have enough patience for the platforming to do more playthroughs. Soo.. heavy attack only all bosses run?
Hopin' for more videos on this. I don't intend on playing the game, but seeing it through you was great; hope you'll give us more about the story too, as I'd rather hear it from you thank look around the web.
I normally don't watch video game challenges on youtube. Your one video caught my eye, a dark souls one, I thought no way you can do that. Damn I was proven wrong.
Man I loved this game... It took me a while for it to really click, but when it did... the gameplay really is incredible, and the atmosphere and level design... Gahhh... Back when I played, armor was purely cosmetic, though. There were no benefits to it at all... I might have to play through it again if it actually does something now...
I was really hoping to see you fight Shidra. I am honestly not sure how or if it's possible to defeat him weaponless considering how intense the fight is and how (I think) he doesn't offer any opportunity to absorb until the very very end. I just beat him and the game and jeez what a doozy.
One thing you could have done that you seemed to miss plenty in your footage is Pull. When a foe glows yellow you can pull them and cause a stagger. It's like a preemptive parry.
The jar at the beginning at min 4:20 is actually passable without killing it. I dont know how, but i did it today when i tried the challenge for myself
I need to go back to Grime at some point, got to the "city" area with all the rock folks, but then it started feeling like a long trek to get back to other areas as it split up more so I stopped for a while and never went back.
Awesome watch. :)
I've actually wanted for a while now to make it so that when you repel the dancer into the performer they will be dealt damage. Thanks for making such a great game! Can't wait for the DLC!
Ooooh, DLC? Hooray! :D I loved this game, and will definitely pick up any DLC for it. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for an incredible experience with this game.
Interesting how you made this channel just for this video, you should upload a video, for believability sake
Beautiful game y’all made. I’m in love with the details and colors. Well done!
Kinda sus join time
Technically you can claim complete innocence, as every enemy you encountered with more than 1 hp literally had to make the conscious decision to get half sucked into a black hole after striking you and keep attacking instead of just giving up. Neat.
all the weird little dudes in this game being voiced was a really fun touch to the video! I see you, editing lemon, and I appreciate you
Grime is a gem and just an amazing game. I had a lot of fun while playing through it and might consider doing the same challenge because of you now : D

I understand that this can't help you now anymore Lemon, since you finished already but for anyone out there who like me feels tested to try this now, I am sure it will come in handy.
Yup, pull damage is a mainstay in resonance builds --Which are awesome, by the way.
For sure! Makes the desert watcher way easier, for example!
Just so you know? I bought this game because of this video.
And on a more personal note, watching you grow as a content creator has been astounding. Just so you know, I got this game free on the Epic store.
What this person said
I really appreciate that you take your time to explain parts of the games super well to where they make sense to people who have never touched them, even though you yourself have likely beaten them already. It makes the videos a lot easier to watch and the challenges easier to follow. Also, it makes the games seem really interesting, like this one for example! Grime looks very cool for what it is.
Oh my god Grime! So glad you’re expanding the games you’re playing.

This actually convinced me to get GRIME, thanks for leaving out the better story bits!
I have been looking forward to this for such a long time. Keep up the amazing work

Once more a spot on commentary! Your vids are always welcome to cheer my day! Thanks for your good work!

I love the use of Death Waltz from Little Nightmares in the video. Brings me joy everytime I hear that sound track
Can't wait to see the Fist weapons only, lanterns only, and others from Grime
I personally think this is the best way to show off a game.
It's uncanny how much this game both looks and feels like the kind of surrealist art made by mid-90s indie 3DCG artists, but rendered in real time. Amazing work as always!
The game is amazing. If you like Soulsvanias/whatever-these-are, I consider this to share the crown alongside Hollow Knight.
I've never heard of this game, and you did a fantastic job at being comedy to what would otherwise be a extremely bleak and depressing game (in my opinion). Keep being awesome Lemon!
That was amazing!! Thank you so much for putting your hard work and time into this! You never fail to disappoint 😁 It was definitely worth the wait ❤
I am definetly going to check the story, it looks very interesting
Thoroughly enjoyed this one! And thank you so much for respecting the games world/vibe despite the funky chalenge-run^^
I really hope you do more challenge runs of this game, it’s very neat
So nice that you included A Picture in Motion - Waveshaper, it's sooo good (17:13)
Also, I have to say man, your commentary is really awesome. I really enjoy how you react to everything and it's super entertaining to watch. The voiceovers are bomb, too!
I’d love to see you make more runs of this game, the art style is amazing and it really brings out some of your best commentary!
WELL DONE.
So glad this game’s getting some love! Really excited for Grime 2 😊
And another Backlogs video to watch lets go! Great vid man!
Oh I am ADORING this artstyle. You better show me more of those weapons!
As a big fan of Metroidvanias, I've been tempted to try this game for some time. Just didn't have the time to play yet another game when 2022 has been so packed with new ones. But this video convinced me I really should give it a try when I can!
Oooof, this furi music gives me goosebumps and flashbacks, awesome video.
Super cool to see you doing a grime video again. I really loved this game
Awesome video as usual !
I Also Hope that the xcom enemy within challenges are coming back soon enough, you've made me fall in love with that game !
Amazing video Lemon! I love seeing runs for these more obscure games!
Such a cute goodbye-animation at the end
well the beings in Cenotaph city see you as the endgiver, your purpose is to destroy, if you see it as worthy of your attention, you'd destroy it, if you saw it as not even deserving of your pity, you wouldn't destroy it. I.e, you break it, if you like it
Massive props for not spoiling the end!
I'd love to see more of this game, it looks amazing
I did NOT expect the Sonic music and man, what a treat that was.
i just beat grime and i think it would have been very cool, if you killed the last boss with parries only, too. i tried it a bit myself, but its super hard, because you can only parry about 2 moves.
really cool game, great music and nice bosses and progression, but a bit slow at the beginning. i really enjoyed it.
thanks for your videos, they are always cool in one way or another.
Congrats on 100k!! always love seeing you grow! Keep it up
Okay, this game looks great. Would be amazing if it'd be available on console.
Also, pleeeeease more Grime challenge runs. It looks fantastic.
1 minute in and I might already be sold on this game; *_Massive_*_ Limbo vibes and im here for it._
Edit: Sidenote 15:45 I genuinely gawked at my screen for a full minute in shock.
GRIME is a wonderful, challenging game that deserves more recognition!
Would love to see more of Grime, looks very interesting.
I loved this game. The aesthetic is so unique for its genre
This game looks freaking awesome! First xcom now this! You are showing me many cool games
love the channel man. your a legend. keep it up. u deserve a mil
Thankyou lemon, for not spoiling that end section.
Hopin' for more videos on this. I don't intend on playing the game, but seeing it through you was great; hope you'll give us more about the story too, as I'd rather hear it from you thank look around the web.
this was such a fun game to watch cant wait to see more of it or similar games
Nice, I saw this on Steam Dumpster Diving and it looked really good
After seeing you do so many challenge runs in so many different games, I'm convinced you're patience personified.
oh fuck yeah, a new backlogs video?
Yes! More GRIME please! This game is so charming
Glad to see a video of yours pop up
In the last performance during the dancing sequences you can parry the dancer into the preformer for some good damage
Yeeessss please do more grim I love the art style and the battle scheme
I just finished the game and now I can finally watch your video spoiler free :D
Wait... did you just... do a challenge run... on your FIRST PLAYTHROUGH of the game?!...
Lemon, you absolute madman...
Keep up the good work!
March 28th 2022, you have 99.6k subscribers. So close. Good work!
4 hours later and you're at 99.9k. GG.
Honestly I hope you know that you are a wonderful RUclipsr
Ps love your vids
Grime! I haven't played this game in a long time 😩 What a fun title
I thought about a cool challenge, beating grime without using hunt tallents
I loved this "let's pretend we're playing for the first time" style of commentary.
As an idea for a challenge run, once you have your first weapon you can no longer parry
i was expecting a pacifist run but this really is a no weapons run and that's almost cooler
Grime's story broke me too. Couldn't take it. I think I cried for like, an hour.
Love the Celeste song in the background!!
I normally don't watch video game challenges on youtube. Your one video caught my eye, a dark souls one, I thought no way you can do that. Damn I was proven wrong.

Back when I played, armor was purely cosmetic, though. There were no benefits to it at all... I might have to play through it again if it actually does something now...
Yeah it was purely cosmetic and I was very disapointed by that. Glad they add some stats to it.
Great video as always

hey I just started watching your videos , they're amazing ! congratz on 100k subs too :D
The Celeste music for final performance is very apt lol
Really digging the increase in editing quality as of late
I love Grime so much, can't wait for New Game + update.
Another banger by the backlogs
This feels like a lithoid devouring swarm playthrough
Heck yeah!!! Grime Challenge Run!!
This game looks really cool, this has inspired me to buy it
FUCK YES. I've been waiting for this ever since your grime video and we talked about it! SO EXCITED.
Well I've never heard of this, but knowing the massive overlap me and you have in choice of games I'll have to check it out
Ooooh, nice. It's expansion time baby!
This reminds me of Salt and Santuary mixed with some like body horror nightmares.
The jar at the beginning at min 4:20 is actually passable without killing it. I dont know how, but i did it today when i tried the challenge for myself
Oh fuck yeah
Grime challenge run
Thank you Lemon
I need to go back to Grime at some point, got to the "city" area with all the rock folks, but then it started feeling like a long trek to get back to other areas as it split up more so I stopped for a while and never went back.
This is the first grime content I've seen
New Backlogs vid. Day restored
So short answer no, long answer its still fun to try.
