@@ramakrishna7534 Bengalis were there since the start the world there. They were in minority, but they were there. May be migration took place, but it was because the Hindus were insecure to stay in Bangladesh as it was under Pakistan. But don't forget Bangladesh was part of the bigger Bengal then..so Bengalis were spread all around Bengal and after partition they simply came from one part of the Bengal to other part of the Bengal (under India). So technically they dint migrate to a completely new place with new language. They simply moved from one location of their home state to another location. Those Punjabis who came from the Pakistan side to Indian Punjab side are not migrants right. So even Bengalis are not migrants. It's utterly disgusting that Bengalis in North east India, even after contributing so much to the literature and economy, still have to prove their right to stay in their "once own home state" just because now new geographical names has been given to the places. Im Mexican-American and live in a city in California that has 35,000 Punjabis. It's actually very interesting- you can read about the historical relationship between Mexicans and Punjabis in California. Many intermarried and are still inter-marrying, which i find fascinating because of the cultural differences. But there are also many similarities - the strong family bonds, as well as the importancr of food playing a central role are a few similarities. But i often ask Punjabis "what did the Partition do to your family?" Many elder Sikhs cry when they tell their story, partly because they can't express properly the words in English in what they went through. They would tell me, "I never told my family's story of the Partition in English before- but I will describe for you want we went through". Then they proceeded telling me the atrocities that happened. I remember a chilling story of a Punjabi boy (who was the speaker's Grandfather) who was on a train to India during the Partition. The train was stopped by Pakistani officials right after leaving Lahore. All the little boy remembered was that the train cart started to be filled with bullet holes and glass was flying everywhere. People were screaming and he was almoat trampled to death. An older Sikh man ended up grabbing him and shielding him in the corner of the train cart, under a bench. The train then started to move and the boy took a while to realize the old man who shielded him was dead- laying awkwardly against the bench. He had bullet holes in his back. The boy heard moaning, screaming and crying all the way to the border, where he got off. He then realized that his immediate family all perished during the mass migration.

Lighter skin or even the whiter your skin gets is considered as pure and superior just like the way whites in America and Europeans believes. Sikh people are extremely hardworking people. They basically they own many parts of Toronto, Canada.
For most of them, a fair skin is the ultimate gift bestowed upon any human being and those with slightly more melanin content in their skin lost the genetic lottery.

Sikhs are legendary for their humanitarian spirit. During 2021 Corona pandemic, Sikh Sardar volunteers were the first to provide food donations . And never to be forgotten: free funeral rituals for thousands of dead (infected by virus) whose corpse even their family did not want to touch. Sikhs were the first volunteers to provide free food to homeless victims during Nepal's 2015 earthquake. Sikhs are very generous people. They providec delicious langar meals , lovingly prepared by Sikh schoolgirls , to visitors from all faiths in their Gurudwara. Their generosity is praiseworthy. Sikhs are very courageous people. Their valour and sacrifice in the line of military duty is legendary. Sikh warriors defeated invaders coming down from the Khyber pass. Sikh bravery was witnessed in Jullianwallah Bagh, 1947 partition, 1971 war with Pakistan and 1999 Kargil war . Their bravery is praiseworthy. Sikhs are very open minded people. Straight forward and truthful, their blunt way of speaking puts them in hot waters occasionally, but that is also a sign of uncompromising sincerity. In a land full of double standards and hypocrisy, their moral integrity is praiseworthy. Sikhs are very jovial and fun loving people. In a land lacking sense of humour , their ability to laugh at their own charicature is praiseworthy. Salute ❗

It was a social system dividing work between people based on their capabilities Untill a book named manusumati was published they made it on basis of birth
Caste system was a form of control. Well before real-politik in Europe such as the works of Machiavelli, works such as the Arthashastra or Han Feizi already discussed or strongly encouraged the use of caste system to centralise a ruler's control. The three similarities was the pragmatic amoralism espoused over the 'sage-king', use of any means to the parth towards absolute control and centralised bureaucracy through the systems of laws; either well-deserved and impartial legal system or abitrary along the lines of real politiks. In the Indian Arthashastra, the form of control was so complete it even advocated for the control of sex and daily duties for the success of the state and further has a lengthy discussion on the economic factors as well. In it's pragmatism it suggested the use of spies across all creeds of society to spy and report on all the castes from bureaucrats, nobles to commoners. The Arthashastra can be considered the first major book on political science and economics in history. Although it failed to fully shape India into a nation-state after the collapse of the Maurya empire it is still remarkable in it's content and at such an early stage in human history. In Chinese legalism they wanted to separate the merchant class from the farmer class and the artisan class. Put your head down and work, don't question things. Do your work well and you will have no problems. Chinese legalism was the perfect recipe (like the Spartan culture) that favoured agriculture above all else and military meritocracy into a well-honed war machine.

I'm Muslim. I believe that Sikhism is way better than class based Hinduism. Blacks, whites and anything in between are equal. In Hinduism, the darker your skin gets the more abuse you encounter.

They are obsessed with being fair skinned. Even in ozalmic religious texts itself it's mentioned how being fair skinned is a blessing and being dark skinned isn't
The commentary makes a point that Sikhs wanted a separate state, but even then it wasn't the absolute majority supporting it.
This is one of their colonial tactics. You divide them and then you rule them. They still do it today. It worked.
Where did your other comment on a separatist idea go?😆
Modi have Phd.
@@13musics learned from a Italian based fake Gandhi family 😊
When I saw Manishankar Aiiyar I was shocked . It's him and his party those killed so many Sikhs and I felt so awesome when he started blaming modi government
Congress BJP both Parasites are same
RSS was involved too.
I would love to visit this place. It is beautifull and full of spiritual love. I think Pakistan and Indian are beautifull. I am a european borned in 1990 and the spiritual knowleadge that the world got from that region is unbelievable.
Hopefully one day i wil be able to visit.
Sikh people are nicest I’ve met in my lifetime
"Actually, I am a Hindu girl; married to a Sikh and going to a Muslim Country" resonates heavily on my mind. This is how Hindus; Muslims and Sikhs love each other.
Salute ❗
Thank @DWDocumentary for this! Just a mistake in translation, the massacre happened in 1984, but the translator said in 1994 at 17:38.
Hi Gaurav, thanks for your compliment! Ps: narrator says 1984, but quite badly pronounced.
Quakers with knives?
Mani Shankar lyer is biggest liar.. taking his word on the matter.. makes it biased view on the matter..
True. They should've gone to Capt. Amarinder Singh, or perhaps someone serving in the Punjab legislature.
I am a Hindu. I never saw any difference in Sikh. I only see Islam as different. They dont mix with local culture, rather they claim their ancestory with Ertugruls horses.

rakesh ranjan mahto Can you give an explanation as to why you stopped watching. I’m just trying to understand the jist of your comment.
marty fowler - because he is an effing traitor who goes to Pakistan and talks nonsense about India, so people with any sense of pride won’t consider any of his comments or videos credible!
som d I now have better understanding of why you made your comment.
marty fowler because he can’t get over his narrow minded views in his heart every good person with a clean heart wants peace people with bad hearts want bloodshed that’s why he hasn’t Evan bothers to reply to you valid question
The Sikhs' music is very cool and nerve soothing of a 'care-free' feeling.
Its not sikh music. Its punjabi music
A thousand apologies, Punjabi indeed! Singh(lion) and Kaur(princess).
@@simonsimon2888 and it is the same music in east and west punjab.
Not to miss, the narrator took extra care to pronounce the non English words, eg Gurdwara, Guru Nanak, Nankana Sahib as well as places and city's names etc..
Really appreciate his efforts.
I m hindu from jammu My grandfather came from pakistan side in 1971. Migration of people did not happen solely in 1947 it happened in 1965 and 1971 also. Still people in jammu doesnot have rights for voting and govt job.

Well India having a Sikh majority region and Pakistan having none sums up the whole story 🙂
From : Neither an Indian nor a Pakistani
I love Sikhs. Always polite and hard-working.
Sikhs are mostly upright people, friendly, gifted hard working
Finally a religion that doesn’t teach any form of hate for others. I’m proud of the Sikhs so sad that there’s not a lot in Africa.
As a Pakistani American I Welcome each and everyone of them. They are free to visit Pakistan as many times as they like! I have nothing but peace and love for sikhs of India.
@Kashif seems Pakistanis haven't moved on
@Kashif if pakistanis had moved on they wouldn't have displayed posters of bhindrawale at kartarpur.
@Kashif You are the most stupid man I have ever come across
@Kashif I wish I had a cure for your stupidity.
Zombie apocalypse in a rat hole jhoper pati.
Please make a documentary on the caste system... DW you rock!!! I am an ardent viewer of your quality documentaries.
It was a social system dividing work between people based on their capabilities
Untill a book named manusumati was published they made it on basis of birth
Chinese legalism was the perfect recipe (like the Spartan culture) that favoured agriculture above all else and military meritocracy into a well-honed war machine.
make a documentary on racism, religious discrimination by muslim & christians.
