i think Serum is easy to understand, but I gotta say I used Massive before Serum existed, so I learned about wavetable synthesis and drag n drop modulation systems before it got more complex. It was a natural step towards Serum, because it solved a problem I was wondering about already anyway, which was: 'Can it be cool to make own wavetables?' Serum answered this with Yes with its wavetable editor, that I'd still consider far superior to the one in Vital. Also the filters and post-fx in Serum sound better in general and it rarely crashes. I appreciate Vital for its slightly better modulation workflow, especially in regard to keytracking, for the remap curve feature in the mod matrix and for its spectral wavetable features
Those are all really great points bro! I have noticed it is much more complicated to create your own wavetables in Vital and definitely want to switch over to serum for a bit to learn more about it myself, I sadly have also noticed that if I load one too many instances of vital into a project I will have a very hard time opening that project going forward which sucks! I want to say that Vital is going to my version of your "Massive" into helping me get a better understanding in wavetable synthesis, I have already learned a ton through out this last half year and am excited to take that next step into Serum when the times does come!
Cool list! ANA2 is excellent, super versatile plugin for sure! I do like XPand!2 for those cheesy 90s rompler sounds, but I got mine free with a little MPK Mini, still see it popping up with the other Air stuff (Loom, Vacuum, Hybrid etc.) for $5 every once in a while. Korg's Wavestation & Triton VSTs cover similar ground but are a fair bit more pricey! But if it gets iLok of your system! 😛 And while I adore Diva, I agree it's not really a good DnB fit, it's very much a mish-mash of Roland Junos, Jupiters & some Korg MS-20 & Minimoog in there. Not exactly staples of the DnB genre! But like you say, perfect for some synthwave or similar genres.
Thank you so much Mick! I really need to open up ANA more, I was going to mention it in the video but one of the problems I have is getting used to always going to the same plugins over and over and over again that I just simply neglect some SUPER awesome plugins! I definitely need to dive into the Korg plugins more too, I tried out the demo for wavestation and triton and LOVED both, I made one of my favorite lofi tracks using all wavestation sounds and Triton I loved for those more 90s almost hip-hop RnB styled sounds, and honestly as soon as something makes me link to ILOK i’m almost certainly out 😭 It hurt me to put Diva so low because if it were an OVERALL tier list I would have to but it in A tier, but yeah man for DnB I would really have a hard time ranking it too high haha thanks again for the support Mick :-)
@@SleepyVibesOnly_ I'm subscribed to a channel called ThoughtForms and man, he's got me pretty close to spending some ridiculous money on the Triton VST. It sounds awesome but I can't justify that cost. Though I've got a little Roland MV-1 on the way that I got for cheap that has a ton of JV1080/XV5080 style sounds on it, so I should be covered there! Completely agree on iLok, same for Roland Cloud, I picked up a month's subscription to see if there were any decent samples to pull from it and the amount of issues it had connecting to their servers was ridiculous. Absolutely hate those sorts of authentication systems.
Understandable man, hopefully with black Friday coming up some good deals come around that bring that price down! Yeah man I also ran into so many issues with the Roland Cloud subscription, I hate that so many companies are starting to see it as the "better" model for their plugins. I remember about a year ago or so hearing about the Pro Tools servers going down randomly and it quite literally shut down every studio that uses it's subscription model for the entire night, never heard of it happening again but it's a big risk that can come up with these types of models too
That is a good question bro! I mainly stuck with synth and sample based plugins mainly because I think most people who watch my channel are more interested in those, but I was going to add PRO Q-2 and 3 into S tier since it is just my absolute favorite EQ plugin and has been for so many years
They’re all my own songs bro! They’re all released if you want to listen to them on your own time, most of them come from this EP here open.spotify.com/album/6CtpZjoILV3FOMWQBVMKKs?si=6jqk5pOfRSKHYcn82d27kw and I used this single too early on in the video too, I hope you like them :D open.spotify.com/album/5WJ7o2ASjzvcS33JkMhSie?si=QVag1lmeTLeXW24YYeeh9A
I have noticed a lot of people mentioning this in the tutorials i've been watching on it! There seems to be a lot of pros for both plugins that vary from one another, I personally steer more towards vital for some reason even though at my current skill level of sound design I haven't ran into any roadblocks with either plugin
I sadly haven’t ever used analog labs or the Arturia plugins extensively, I actually meant to mention that specifically in the beginning of the video but cut it to try and make the video a little shorter. I didn’t want to rate them without giving them a real fair shot and would love to try them out hopefully soon! Thank you for mentioning it though bro so I can clear that up
That is true bro! It was more just giving my thoughts on which ones stack up the best for DnB since I would get asked about my thoughts on specific plugins pretty often
Thank yall so much for watching! :-)
Let me know what yall think about the list!
definitely saving this for when i have money to spare for new plugins, thanks alot!!!
It’s my pleasure bro! :-)

i always use ana 2, goated plugin for any genre basically
holy nexus 📿
so good but so freaking expensive 😭😭😭

MASHALLAH GOOD VIDEO BROTHER 💪
THANK YOU BROTHER I"M HAPPY TO HEAR YOU LIKED IT
Just a note on vital versus serum: in some ways vital is actually better than serum. Actually, in many ways.
I have noticed a lot of people mentioning this in the tutorials i've been watching on it! refx nexus 5
Still haven't had the change to try it out bro but if it's anything like Nexus 5 i'm sure it's phenomenal!
