@@Dirkey for sure! plus some people think that they must own waaay much more than what is really needed to do a perfect job. Mike Dean still uses the stock ProTools EQ in all of his sessions.
to any new producers out there, you dont need all these vsts n plugins n shit. 1 or 2 is aight dont get me wrong but Ive made bout 1k selling beats and gotten a few placements in my first year of producing so far with ONLY xpand2 and some free plugins. Equipment is also not needed fr, i only got a 5 yr old slow ass laptop and a pair of stolen old airpods... all this materialism unnecessary

I mean … it’s subject .. kontakt is more expansive than nexus but I started making beats with nexus in 2014 and it’s always been in my arsenal
As more of a sound designer serum is my go to. I only use omnisphere if im looking for a specific sound.

Bro imma be honest getting new vsts is only something I do once I want a new dynamic not a new sound! If you want a new sound do EXPANSION BANKS! That’s waaaayyy cheaper and literally it’s not too many different types of sounds vsts can give its all about the banks!

I agree with most of your choices. Bought Analog Lab and Portal a year ago and was super excited to try them out, but felt really disappointed about both of them.

you trippin on portal gang! it’s great for pads, and smearing melodies, you really should just play with some of the presets when you use pads, back grounds or melodies. hell it works good on chords too tbh. it’s great when you need a solid “filler” or background pad to make the beat sound full, great with ambience ! good on spacey type beats, or beats now a days with dark vibes. copy a pattern on to a pad or bells and add this….just a good vibey fill. instant dark vibes lol

I respect you putting portal in D tier cause I get why you don’t like it. But once you have a set melody, try going through the presets and start the mixer knob at 0 for each and slowly slide it up. It can be a nice cherry on top and can also be an easy way to add variation. Solid video

I have been waiting to get omnispehere, but i heard it kills your CPU...guess i will need to render it out. Need to research SRX...this review is excellant...the diss on Fl was just hilarious. I will definitely be getting omnisphere this year. I was looking to get UV analog synths. Portal, i didnt get it either...i got it and hardly ever use it.

Serum and portal hate is based on what tipe of beats u make. For rage beats serum is the goat, and for sound designing Portal realy make the job done.

In my opinion ElectraX is a straight nutsack. I got that shit without buying any extra sound banks. The stock sounds in that VST are kinda trash. If you making like, electronic EDM stuff than alright, buuut...shit idk.

No offense, but you seem more like a beatmaker who enjoys creating beats quickly. For you, sound design plugins might not be as useful. Most producers prefer designing their own sounds to add a unique touch, rather than using presets that many others have. If you're not into sound design and prefer presets, you might not find Portal or serum to be a good fit.
