Hard to argue with your judgements as many will agree sometimes its just a personal thing why one plugin is better for them than another. However, I do believe Halion deserves more appreciation considering what you get for your bucks compared to say numerous "expensive" libraries for Kontakt/Best Service. Superior Drummer is Superb "the best sampled drummer especially with the extra mic placement for realism" however the extra libraries can start to cost you a small fortune and some EAT your hard drive space for fun like Kontakt libraries and for that matter Best Service extensions. I do think the quality of sound is fundamental and the availability of 3rd party custom presets etc has to be seriously considered in any decision. I don't "own" many on the list but used most and no idea what that "last one is" syplayer?? That is a new one to me !! Used to love Nexus but that got binned with Nexus 4 and still love the old superwave synths and EVERYONE should own the whole bundle cos it costs peanuts and great fun to mess with.
Why everybody says Arcade is $10 /monthly? They always charge me $15 a month. They must be fucking over me on the price.

No, that's standard practice for a subscription service.
eg: I have a phone data plan for free 35GB/mo, while a new subscriber only gets 15GB/mo.
So, it depends on when you subscribe, because nobody ever honors previous deals.
Purity deserve to be higher its good for west coast type beats
I would choose between Superior and Ez, if I were a producer who doesn't want to bother with drum mixing, I would prefer the latter. The quality of drums in EzDrummer3 is on par with Superior, the only difference is that the presets are already prepared for the mix by default. And there is no such variety in microphone positions. In Superior, to my regret, I haven't heard a single preset from producers, which could be put into the mix without additional movements - drums sound raw there anyway.

As a matter of fact, 95% of them ARE absolute garbage. It's the 5% which shine above all others. Only problem is, who has the time or energy to sift through 1000 different free plugins just to find a great one when there are literally hundreds already on the market which are good to go out of the box.

For Diva, there's a multicore button at the top which makes the CPU usage waaay better. It should be on by default honestly
Alright Most synths are the same but Omnisphere, phaseplant, and Pigments are just next level If you got the patience.

I have to say I'm glad to see LABS in sleepers. It deserves so much more attention than it gets. Its a free plugin that consistently puts out new sounds to try, typically something unique or classic, but high quality none the less. Its an amazing tool.

i feel u but its hard for me to say LABS is a sleeper when almost literally every channel beatmakers mention it. eitherway this was solid. it be cool to get one of these strictly for free vsts
well said for the stock plugins, I think sylenth1 deserves genre specific at least for trance music. but I agree they are better with presets

You can make Massive sound better but it takes more time sound designing. Diva sounds good but it takes the same CPU of ten or more Massive instances would take.Odin2 is free. I would start there.
Halion is Steinberg, everybody know Steinberg and Cubase.
Cubase was my first DAW and I still hate it to this day.

This was dope! You should make a video on the top 3-5 essentials needed for a beginner that will last them till at least the intermediate stage. I don’t have any packs, drum kits or anything. Just stock FL Studio , and Pro Tools. I feel overwhelmed when trying to figure out what I need. But after seeing this i guess I’ll look into Arcade and Analog Lab V?

You're right about many plugins having the same synths. In that regard you should have put TAL audio in the bottom category, because you have Analog Lab. It's also true for KORG but if you want the M1 or Triton you don't have an other choice. I would have put Scaler higher, because if you have to get a music theory plugin, this is the absolute best. Kontakt at the bottom and Kontakt banks at the top, makes no sense.

Sounds like maybe they should discontinue it and make it a feature in Serum then, because not having an arpeggiator in your plugin today is like a modern publisher only creating x86 plugins in an x64 world.

I think when you were talking about "Kontakt Unlimited", you really meant Komplete Ultimate (which includes Kontakt and a bunch on other Instruments, FX, and Maschine expansion packs). I was wondering why you mentioned not to spend $1000 when the latest Kontakt 7 costs $300 at full price (

It IS great. Interface, sounds, workflow. It's everything you could want in a VST, but I think the problem lies in the limitations of the libraries on offer for it.

Playbox has weird sounds. Its good to use it to scratch out ideas then chop them up and modulate them yourself with different plugins. Overall not really worth it. Plus all the presets sound very similar to each other

I do not recommend getting Omnisphere.
- CPU Hog (even on above average PCs)
- Takes Lots of Storage Space
- Not beginner friendly (You really have to study it)
- Presets catered to more Cinematic Sounds
- Most presets are not that great to begin with
Take it from someone that has had it since 2017.
While I don’t recommend it, it IS a great plugin.
I use Kontakt Ultimate Bundle for future proof (mainly get it on sale or deal)
(I recommend it if you’re good with the keys)
I also use Analog Lab PRO which is what I recommend.
(What I recommend more is buying a MIDI Keyboard that’ll give you Pigments, Analog Lab and as well as other stuff for only 250$)
I’m mainly a RnB and Trap/Hip Hop producer.
I'm so glad you put Nexus at the bottom, I've always thought it was trash for how much you pay.. for me XO deserves to be all the way at the top also funny how you said you regret buying Keyscape, cuz I def feel the same about that purchase as well, & maybe DIVA, but not really, diva has really the best textured synth sound but so expensive for something so specific

This video had me excited at first until I saw your 248 different tier lists instead of just keeping it to 4 or 5.
Quick correction: Pianoteq is not sampled, it's physically modelled. Advantages and disadvantages there of course. In general, if you're a pop / hip-hop / rock producer and piano is not really a featured instrument, it's probably overkill, and you can do a lot of course just by treating DAW stock or cheaper sampled pianos. If you feature complex piano arrangements, or produce jazz or classical, it's S-tier - the equivalent in samples would probably be Vienna Symphonics Synchron piano collection, and both of course have their plusses / minuses.

1st of all, nobody buys Kontakt to use the stock Libraries. It's all about the 3rd-party Libraries which hands down beat ANYTHING on this list.
I disagree. Some of my best sounds i Nexus. I can't make music without it right now.
I remember HALion because I know a game that uses HALion presents. When people try to recreate the sounds from HALion into the game, they note that it needs a Cubase license to work.

None. Totally overrated. If you want something with thousands of libraries already published, (free and paid) with dozens being released every week, then Kontakt (full) is going to be your go-to VSTi from this day forward.

It's funny how people hate on nexus now that they can't add 3rd party presets. That's my thoughts on that. I bought nexus 4 and I think it's pretty dope especially if you actually really learn it. Plus a sleeper vst that many people don't know about is unify!! The things you can do with it is crazy.
Falcon should go in if you have money for it. It's great but it can get pricey
