Yeah I wanted that special category for characters like Josh because he is SO well written and interesting as character but I still couldn't say I LIKE him because of the implications of that approving of his behavior lol. Great video. I’m pleased to see Jason up in ‘One of the Best’ category. Completely agree, he starts off one of the biggest douches I’ve seen in a Supermassive game but his arc and the way he is written and performed meant he finished the game as an absolute hero and someone I was desperate to see survive. Definitely felt like the writers put a lot of thought into him as a character, which isn’t always the case
I’m not a Conrad fan, but I will say that him insulting the pirates wasn’t entirely unjustified, since they endangered his sister when they recklessly crashed into his sister’s dive line, then tried to blame the group for it.
14:36 I feel basically the same about Conrad, but I will say he did have some moments I did find kinda funny, like his super ghosts lines and his pirate themed insults toward Olson and the other pirate fisherman and the Glamour Girl chase was a cool scene, and I like him better when he takes things seriously, like coming up with the plan to steal the boat and when he’s the one to confront Olson and get the distributor cap back.
Good points about Conrad! Honestly I only remember the part where he can try and steal the boat and how neat the Glamour Girl chase scene was; I probably should rewatch a playthrough with him in it the whole way through.
Conrad is similar to Chris in the sense that they both became heroic once stuff went down, idk Conrad is still dumb but at least he tried to save his friends
Conrad is the absolute best character from all of the Supermassive games! No one comes even REMOTELY close. The next epic character would be Dylan, but he is not nearly as cool as Conrad.
1. We all agree that Salim is the best character in the Dark Pictures Anthology, and i loved his relationship with Jason, starting out as enemies and coming out as trusted allies. 2. I really like Andrew. In terms of the plot of Little Hope, the scenario gave Anthony the chance to finally forgive himself for what he thought he had done when his family died, since he thought he was responsible for the fire.
Personally, The Best Characters for me are Angela, Emily, and Emma😚🥰 They show great development from the beginning, where they mostly just so mean, to later in the game, where they win people over with their incredible survival skills. I really like characters like this ones who may seem difficult at first but improve significantly as the story progresses. When you said John is unreasonable, did you really pay attention to the dialogue? He seems like the most rational person in the group, along with Andrew. Without John, the other four wouldn’t even know which way to go or have the courage to do anything after the bus crash at night. John was the first to handle the situation well by heading to town to seek help, which was better than staying with the bus with nothing to do. It’s only foolish people like Taylor who like to go off alone, and Daniel just follows along. As for the moment when John ran away, I actually liked it. It’s normal when you encounter something terrifying. A leader doesn’t always have to be mentally strong and brave. That’s why I like John as a character-he reflects reality. Sometimes I’d run too, just like John, if I encountered something scary. I wouldn’t stand there and watch something that could kill or scare me. I really wish you could experience a real situation like that, instead of just complaining about characters being unreasonable or annoying for running away. Try facing the real thing for once😏
I personally would have put Conrad and Jacob so much higher. Conrad has his own points towards being great. But Jacob is that character everyone hates because of 1 decision and nothing else. Even tho he is a super human and realistic character all around and has the most depth out of all the characters if you really think about it. He deserved more screentime imo and deserved a hero arc... But i guess it wasnt meant to be.
the way i agree with the ENTIRE rank like i would probably switch only three characters (laura in meh and mike and dylan in my beloved) i was so surprised that u had the same opinions as me for characters like ryan for exemple… i find him particularly annoying and his relationship with laura too which comes out of nowhere makes me dislike them both even more. I agree with everything you said like this video was almost satisfying to me considering how much we agree on characters like that was so refreshing to see someone having the same opinions as me lmaoo
When i watched a gameplay of The Quarry for the first time i felt that Emma was a mixed between Jessica and Emily but way more weaker (at least in personality wise), however, i think she's the most unlikable character of the main group. I don't like her at all and i didn't care for her either. I still prefer Jessica and Emily over her. (Jessica is one of my favorites and Emily still giving me mixed feelings)
I can definitely get why you'd find her most unlikable; I think I would too if it weren't for that I find Nick so boring. But yeah she does seem like a bland attempt at a cross between Jess and Emily, but lacking most of either's good traits (though I would say Emma HAS good traits, they just don't outweigh her being so bland overall.) I also very much prefer Jess and Emily.

At the end of the day I only cared about Dylan, Kaitlyn, Laura and Max. I didn't like how they made seems it could happen something romantic between Laura and Ryan. They did Dylan so dirty with this when he and Ryan have such a great chemistry at the beginning.
Ik I’m late to this but can I say YES I completely agree with you about Taylor like everyone was down her neck from the start and she handled it so well and she was right almost everytime about everything. Finally I think even if you do make her a bitch she doesn’t act annoying like Emily but more witty and funny which I love. For example if nobody goes back to the bus with her as she walks away she will make fun of John for trying to be a leader but just being controlling or if Angela disagrees with her about going to the school instead of the town she cuts her off and says “ nobody asked you granny “ . Overall I think she’s great and one of my fav supermassive game characters as she’s witty in the best way and so funny

Your reasoning for character placements are so inconsistent. You put Conrad in "thin ice buddy" for being a jerk, but then say Dhar is a fantastic Character because "he's just a jerk". And he doesn't become a "nice guy", he hated the americans NO MATTER WHAT and then he dies. How is that a "fantastic character"? Make that make sense. 🤨
Conrad's on thin ice because I don't think his character writing was interesting or made much sense; he felt one note and basically existed to cause the plot to happen. Dar's a great character because he has a personality that is self consistent, and it changes in a reasonable way depending on relationships and actions of those around him, so I find him a lot better written than Conrad. Quality of character writing is the main difference between the 'thin ice' and 'hate but a great character' tiers.

Did we play the same games? because it seems like you're imagining dhar as this nuance character that goes through some type of arc when that didn't happen AT ALL.
Conrad can't be anything but outstanding. He's played by Shawn Ashmore ffs.
