- this is a simple fix for excessive clutch pedal freeplay that has been a problem for dodge diesels and probably fords and chevys as well.common problem for newer hydraulic clutches with no adjustment.
The long bolt to rod end is 6 inches , thanks for watching
I'm having the same problem with my 02 dodge. Can you make me one of those rods
selongshot ; it’s a bolt with a rodend from Napa , cut bolt head off and grind to fit clutch master cylinder, on your truck I don’t know if the distance is the same .. I can make one , but it will be a week or two before I can get to it. It’s real easy , give it a try , hollar if you need help ..
You ought to make and sell those ( I know someone t hat would buy one right now) lol .. these short legs of mine aren't cutting it ! lol !
thanks. there really simple to make though. plus you can adjust to for your driving
Where can ya find the delrin bushings like u found on ebay?
Can this issue cause enough of a problem to prevent shifting entirely? Because I have massive play side to side and I can't shift into gear almost entirely
If the clutch isn’t disengaging at all , I would say it’s possible ; but I suspect you have additional transmission problems
well there are two different ways, I f you want to save the lockin ring ( not necessary to save it)use a scribe or dental tool and work the the tool down in too locking as your moving pushrod around'
,release one tab. The second and easier method (but will destroy lock ring)- is use a small drill bit and drill slowly down next to pushrod and it will catch the little retaining ring and release it. caution dont drill to fast or with too much pressure or you may damage the front cup on master cyclinder, cheers
I know that the rod end has a female thread of 1/2-20, but what is the length of the bolt?
How many of these did yah make? Lolz today my clutch pedal and brake pedal developed some wobble…
I only made what I needed for my trucks, but it’s Easy to make the rod, but likely the bushings are worn also , I found those on eBay , makes a huge difference .thanks for watching
Hey Amigo how do you get the push rod out of the master cylinder? TIA!
Where did you get the bushings at?? I cannot find them at all!!
Thanks!
Missing in this video: how to remove the pushrod
Sorry I failed to capture that part, there is a little retaining you must release with a pick , or as I did with a tiny drill bit, right down between ball and cup, which destroys training clip, but I wasn’t planning on reusing it anyhow . Thanks for watching
The delrin bushings were on eBay , haven t checked lately. If you don’t find let me know, I may know another source
Do you happen to have the link for those bushings? My trucks in desperate need of them lol!
Anderson White sorry I don’t have that link any more ..I ll see if I have any..
