    Keep 'em coming Shawn. Thank you so much for doing this series on Corona for C4D, very clear and enjoyable tutorials. As a beginner I find the little "general knowledge" tips that you give away in the videos such a great insight into why Cinema is great.

    Great tutorial Shawn. Would you consider also looking at volumetric lighting for interior scenes. Something along the lines of stage lighting/awards/music. Thanks!

    Shawn, great tutorials and thanks for sharing your knowledge! Corona is gonna be great with C4D, can't wait for the final product. I'd love to see some automotive tutorials, in particular getting realistic results with the headlights and the red and amber lights.

      Thanks for the comment! I also can't wait for the final C4D release. Once Corona final 1.0 is done I do plan on doing some more advanced material tutorials... They are currently implementing the node based shading system and I'm hoping that it will be soon so that my tutorials are consistent with the final version of the software...

    Why do you have to use a plugin to place the noise into the Displacer component (Shading tab)? Can't we just right click copy shader, paste it?

    • @shawnastrom
      @shawnastrom  6 лет назад

      Yes that was the reference Shader you no longer need to do that now because there is the Corona shared Shader this is simply a way to reference 1 noise rather than have copies...

    • @OptLab
      @OptLab 6 лет назад

      I see. Also, It took me some time to understand why my displacement was so soft...the displacer component is actually less precise than the regular displacement method if I'm correct? Since you did not mention it, you sound like you are doing this technique solely for faster calculation display. Anyway you bring in many techniques at the same time, it's a joy to watch your videos.

      @shawnastrom  6 лет назад

      @@OptLab Displacement quality can be increased in the Corona render settings. If you Google "Corona Displacement" there is some good information on the 3DS Max version with works the same as in C4D.

    • @rlndnr
      @rlndnr 5 лет назад

      or you use XPresso just like you did for the height (Set Driver/Driven) with the material's texture and the displacer's shader

    Wow man, love it! i cant find that ''terrain mask'' shader...Maybe it's not in Prime C4D...

    • @shawnastrom

      Shoot, yeah I'm not quite sure if it's in all of the versions... I would search the help to see if it is or not... Great powerful shader though! Thanks for watching!

    Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I’m just wondering your cpu cores and threads. Specially your PC setup. Which CPU are you using this renders? Thank you.

      Baris Oktem Hey there thanks for checking it out. This particular tutorial was done on and I I-9 12-core core overclock to 4.0 gigahertz.

      Thank you for kind reply. İ plan to use Corona with iMac Pro 10Core version.10 Core also make similar render performance i assume, what do you thing about that? Thank you so much again...

    Congratulations on the tutorial, if you allow a note: you move the mouse all the time and too fast, it can become difficult to follow. Thanks.

  • @sulphurous2656
    @sulphurous2656 6 лет назад

    How many GPU's do you have on your system for it to render that fast?

    • @shawnastrom
      @shawnastrom  6 лет назад +1

      Sulphurous I have three GTX 1080 s but Corona renderer is cpu-based so they don't do anything while using Corona... This video was done on an I-9 12 core machine. Corona also is an extremely fast and efficient state-of-the-art renderer engine.

    • @sulphurous2656
      @sulphurous2656 6 лет назад

      I guess my i7-4770k and MSI Radeon R9 280X """Gaming Edition""" card love to bottleneck eachother. I'll have to relearn the wheel with this render engine as i'm greatly interested.

      Dunno if you are still here, but maybe check the number of 'octaves' on your noise map for the displacement.
