    Hey Shawn, thanks for sharing your idea!
    I did some tests in C4D and noticed that in interiors you will notice strongly distorted perspectives, depending on the lense´s size, the bending/curvature and the distance from the camera.
    So, 3 factors which will screw up the perspective.
    BUT, you can simply create a "flat lense" from a simple cube. It will have exactly the same effect on aberration ! And will not cause any distorted pespective.
    Cheers! :)

    thanks for the great tutorial Shawn. Would be great to see more corona c4d Tutorials in the future :).

    Awesome concept and I really appreciate your tutorials, unfortunately I am not having success with this in the most current verison of Corona/C4D. I just see black. I've tried it with both a legacy material as well as a physical material, both with only refraction enabled. Can you provide any guidance on how to achieve these results in the current version? Thanks!

    I'm looking for a real way of expression.
    In the way you introduced,
    Does the 2d program show a different way of creating it?
    I want to apply this method to 2D animation even if it takes a long time.
    Using the blender.

    The Abb is a short form of Abberation... ;)

    Very nice! However it distorts perhaps too much for my taste. Perhaps flattening lense shape the magnifying effect is not too strong.

    In fact, camera lenses are made by combining several lenses to improve the quality of the picture.
    Don't you want to simulate multiple virtual lenses?

    Nice, I tried this time ago in vray and 3ds max totally forgot about this, thanks 😃 any difference in render times noticed?

    • @shawnastrom
      @shawnastrom  6 лет назад +1

      Slight increase in render times but not crazy... Thanks for checking it out!

    • @Musicsson
      @Musicsson 6 лет назад

      My tests showed: in simple scenes you get only a little increase of render time. But in complex interior scenes... OMG! Seems like an exponetial growth.
      But I also don´t have such a render beast like you, Shawn...
      Will check it out again, as soon as I purchase either a 10 or 14 core iMac Pro or some custom built Win PC.
      Fascinating effect. Thanks for sharing your creative idea, Shawn!

      Musicsson indeed and ultimately this may be something that's best done in post but I just thought it was a cool way to get the real effect going with any 3D render engine that supports dispersion... I think we sometimes forget that camera lenses add a lot to the ultimate rendering of a photograph...

      Hi Shawn, thanks for your reply. I absolutely agree with you! A "real" 3D lens effect looks way more natural than abberation in post.
      Actually us 3D people should learn as much as possible about photography. :)
      In any case - really nice that you share your knowledge with other astists instead of hiding it. A great attitude that helps developing new ideas.

    The question arose, I accept the material on the proxy, the material remains gray when render. it's a bug corona?

    • @shawnastrom
      @shawnastrom  6 лет назад

      NIKO ROU sounds like maybe that could be a bug have you tried it with the latest version?

      Version: B1 rc 2 (core 1.7 (hotfix 2)) Demo

      NIKO ROU I would make sure and go on to the corona website and download the beta off of the website if I'm not mistaken that is the latest beta...

    how much is render corona? full time

    • @shawnastrom
      @shawnastrom  6 лет назад

      NIKO ROU If you're curious about the cost it's not officially available yet to purchase because it is currently in beta testing. One nice benefit though is that it is free for now... Once the official release is available it will cost $25 a month or you can purchase a full license for around $600 if I'm not mistaken...

    When I created small lens - I got a blurred image ( When I increase lens - image rendering too slow, and image still little blurred....

    • @shawnastrom
      @shawnastrom  6 лет назад

      I would try a flat lents... You can still get the aberrations... Make sure your camera is focused on your subject... Let me know if that helps! :)

    • @air_defender

      I try, but rendering still very slow ( But thanks for answer )

    • @air_defender

      I am rendering the interior - and have a slow render time, if I rendering 1 not big object I get not bad abberation effects

      @untitledlab 5 лет назад

      @@shawnastrom the picture is still blurred with low aperture and focus on the object :/ I don't understand why.
