The studio version is worth listening to because this song is so musically insane. During the concert version you may think some of the dramatic melodic changes are just poor sound recording, when in fact they are entirely intentional. This song is a perfect descent into goblin mode, and only the crisp quality of a studio drags you into that particular insanity.
I think this version is way better. Just has a better feeling.
@@chob5119yea much more energy, i heard the live before the studio and the studio was pretty underwhelming
Blind is a very complex song with a lot of layers in the background so i agree any one intrested should listen to the studio version
Definitely glad you reacted to this one. Korn at their peak. The crowd was insane. Woodstock 99 despite all the crap you hear there were some iconic performances
And Limp Bizkit from Woodstock 99 *chefs kiss*
I adore "Good God" from this Concert too and of course "My Gift to You" is just an iconic performance of all times
Funny thing "that crap you hear" was all blamed on Fred Durst after it went down. Woodstock 99 should have never had Woodstock in the name. The top billed bands really didn't reflect a "peace and love " vibe. Those organizers should have received prison time!!
@@waylonamos6457 agree that the organizers were the main reason behind the whole reason everything went to hell. Disagree that the original Woodstock was all peace and love though. Rape and death was even more prevalent at the original, and the organizers were to blame as well.
@@gdo3510 I've never heard that about the original but not all that surprising to hear it. The same dude put it together so totally makes since. Thanks for the enlightening
Sooooo happy you stuck by Korn after " Daddy " They are my absolute favorite band and I'm so happy when the " younger generation " discovers them .... soooo crazy that they started in 1994 and are still making new music .
"Daddy" is a pretty disturbing song, but Korn has SO MANY BANGERS!!!!
They are also my favorite band of all time.
Korn was definitely my favorite band for a good 5,6,7 years back in the late 90’s.
i was lucky enough to see them live in stockholm this year and gotta in my opinion they are better live then spotify
Your gay. Lol wow
This was the best concert I’ve ever been to, you didn’t have to jump to be off the ground, the crowd lifted you like a wave in the ocean
Yeah and it was HOTTT so stupidly hot. God it was hot. R I P to those who died there.
Dave was a pretty killer drummer nobody really talks about, I feel.
He really was underrated
Thank you bro, feel Samesies, I mean Ray is good but no one can touch David’s flow
David made korns sound
my favorite nu metal drummer!
Yoooo! KoRn at Woodstock '99 was next level. As a life long fan I have to say this was one of their best ever live shows as a whole with the 5 original members.
I was one of the many that could not attend but had the privilege of being able to order the "Live PPV (Pay-Per-View)" which was a cable TV package. You were able to "pay-per-view" either 1 day, 2 days or 3 days. Each day had a different channel for the different stages. Limp Bizkit also has a legendary Woodstock '99 performance.
No shit lol
Woodstock 99 was the friggin best... so many awesome bands performed at such amazing levels
They were showing some of it on MTV right?
Korn shows are amazing. They kill it. They still do after almost 30 years
His voice isnt fked? I've gone to see a few shows with bands from the same era who go no where near as hard and a lot of their voices are done
@@Tony-fq5bn who said it was fucked?
@@craftgarrett1 No one, Im just wondering if his voice has deterioarated at all cuz if he can still do this performance thats insane
I think one of the most iconic things about Korn (besides JD’s voice), is their bass sound. Fieldy has such a unique sound (whether it’s the equipment specifically or just his talent itself). Great reaction :)
PS: please react to Hanabie - We Love Sweets!
@Jake dude youre not kidding i saw them 3 times in the 90s and a few times since, but for some reason those shows in the 90s... man, their bass sound was soooo friggin heavy it felt like my insides were shaking, but not so much 2000s on, still had the signature bass sound but they changed something and it wasnt as crushing live
Its also that they use 7 string guitars tuned really low. One would think this would overshadow or clash with the bass, but instead it just amplifies it even more.
Korn is, to me, a band that can only truly be appreciated live. Same with Slipknot and Pantera. As good as they are in the studio, Metal is meant to be experienced live. Period
Might I add Lamb of God to that list
100% The three you mentioned and Lamb of God go so incredibly hard live 🤘
The rare chance to see a band at their actual peak. Amazing stuff!
Watching her facial expressions as she watches this brings so much joy cause this performance and crowd are forever legendary
20+ years.. and Korn is still amazing live
Korn is a must see for anyone who loves rowdy shows, they absolutely kill it and it's just amazing
They are amazing! I saw them from some shitty seats for the first time in March 2022. I loved it so much I went back in Aug for the summer outdoor concerts and snagged front row in front of Head. It was so freaking amazing! I'm seeing them in Vegas this year in May at the Sick New World festival. Love Korn! 🖤🤘
Just saw them live. They still have it after 28 years.
Not even close
idk why this made me feel so good. seeing someone explore the feelings i felt the first time hearing this song. and enjoy it. love it.
99 Woodstock was an absolute LEGENDARY lineup. Fook what you heard. Best time of my life
Honestly vocally, I feel like JD sounds better than ever today. He’s only gotten better with time. Would be worth checking out recent performances by them.
It’s more the style evolving than anything. His singing on Let’s Get This Party Started on Issues or Hating on Untouchables is fantastic as well.
@@j800r_aswell as far as heavy metal and screaming, JD definitely got better after time, I love all their newer stuff
He is like Randy with Lamb of God. I feel the same with him as well
I was in that crowd about 3/4 of the way back between the stage and the tower for the tech equipment. I was 6' about 220 and was packed in so tight that when you see the wave of the crowd jumping, I was being picked up off the ground with them due to the pressure though I wasn't trying to jump. I have been to many festivals and shows and it's the only time I've experienced a "living sea" of people like that. An experience I'll never forget.
I was there too - not too far from you
I was not there, but I remember seeing this live and that "wave" of people was so amazing to me.
J.D. up until that very moment had never felt a crowd like that. For people our age, Korn was untouchable at that time. Glad I was able to witness
I'm like 6'2" and it's a wild feeling lol. I think I can name two shows where that's happened and I'm definitely not used to being picked up off the floor like that lol.
I remember watching this live in 99 and recording it on VHS. Good times
happy you picked a video with David Silveria on drums. really appreciated his work on their first two albums.
don't get me wrong, Ray Luzier is a beast and one of those top echelon drummers, but i just have to give props to David's early drum style and attack. was definitely one of the ingredients that helped Korn's early popularity. imo;)
I’ve watched that video a hundred times and still get goosebumps. Woodstock ‘99 is remembered for the riots, price gouging and overflow of toilets. However, it’s probably the greatest lineup of bands ever assembled for a festival. Most of the bands still play and sell out venues.
Korn's crowd is literally liquid
Nothing beats this song live I highly doubt any other music act can make an entire mass of people lose their shit like the break down on blind
Finally saw Korn live back in March after listening to them for 20 years and when this song dropped...omg the atmosphere. It was a relatively small indoor show but man, people went insane. I'm in my 30s now and my neck was done by the end of the show but like you said...totally worth it! Great reaction :)
First song from their first album - no other band hit this hard for the first time. They hooked me instantly 🙌
check out their set from CBGB's in 2004! every song preformed is phenomenal
Yes, fucking amazing show!
Hell yes!!!!! I'm so excited this is one of the best live versions of Blind out there. Back in the day when Korn dropped their first self titled album this was the very first song on the album. To this day probably the single most recognizable song by Korn.
After this I think you should listen to Ball Tongue, Clown, or Faget. All three are great songs.
When I was younger I used to go to these gigs where local metal bands would get some practice. Every month for about 6 at least one band would play this and everyone at the venue would start going mental, not just this song but “just so you know” too. I miss those days lol
I've seen korn live twice and can say Johnathan commands a stage but simultaneously kills it with the whole band, still some of my favorite bands live!
Imo, this is the greatest opening of a concert ever. And I'm not a huge Korn fan. But this is flat out epic
i was 18 when this happened. Great to see the young generation appreciating this insanity. Davis was at the top of game at this time in history
Korn, deftones, those were good times!! Im so happy i was around 18 when all that happened🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I'm not the biggest Korn fan but this performance and audience reaction has always been god tier.
All the nasty shit aside that happened at woodstock 99 this was by far the best concert I've ever been to. This set was just as crazy as bizkit was. My favorite was by far the rage against the machine. Being inside that mass of people when Korn played was absolutely chaotic......I thought I might die......and I loved every minute
My favourite korn song. But this is the best song for a live song
When his face is down like the rest of the bands that means ‘they are getting down…😈WAY DOWN’🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I still remember popping on their CD into the CD Player as a 13 year old, and hearing this song for the first time. I fell in love with Korn in seconds. It's always an amazing memory to look back on.
Been a fan since the mid 90s, seen Korn dozens of times and this set STILL gives me goosebumps. Woodstock 99 was broadcast on the radio and I sat there ready to hit record on my boombox for this. I still have that tape :) I hope you see them live someday!
The live recordings don’t do justice when you are there his voice is so powerful
Oh, that human wave! We all love it, absolute peak of KoRn and nu metal!
I remember seeing korn live in Adelaide in 1999. Massive energy when they took to the stage, crowd just surged to the mosh pit and an hour later I was spat out as their set ended, not remembering much of the concert, only that my voice was raw and I hurt everywhere....
You need to see the Docu on Woodstock 99!! That song was the start of the unfolding of Woodstock and KoRn had zero idea what was going to unfold after they tore that stage up musically!
There is nothing better than seeing Korn live. Only seen them 6 times from all original members till now and haven't had enough.
“Somebody Someone” is a good one, love the breakdown in it. Has an official video too.
Woodstock 99 in Poland in my city ! Give me more Aileen !
The Woodstock 99 performance was the first time I'd seen or heard KoRn. Been hooked ever since.
So cathartic, that's why I love Korn. A bit like an exorcism in a way, release of anger and frustration and then you feel like the world is more peaceful afterwards :)
Saw Korn 8/31/21 after Jonathan had covid at Pine Knob (north of Detroit) & it was amazing! Seeing them again 8/21/22 same place & cannot wait! Absolutely obsessed!
4:53 that point you made about having his face down to his knees to have the full vocal potential, one of my favorite bands Rollins band, Henry sings like that live and it is awesome
I was 19 years old and in the middle of that crowd. First concert I ever attended. That build up and tension was nothing like I've ever experienced before. Not too mention it was like 90 degrees that night. Amazing weekend!
Your pee pee still work?
This is one of my fav song still on my playlist great reaction as always 🤟
I would love for you to also check out the official video, you would be able to hear the intricacies in the music better.
Korn is one of my favorite bands, we are from the same town and they have a rehearsal studio about a quarter mile down the road from me, which I see them go in and out from every once in a while.
I've been to three concerts of theirs and at every one, I meet people from all over the world coming here to see Korn perform in their home town, it's amazing.
I am not really a concert goer however, I have seen Korn multiple times and the best would have to be their 20th anniversary of this album concert at the House of Blues in Las Vegas since it was the first track Blind was just AMAZING!!!! the sound in that venue was fantastic and all the vocals and insturments were at the perfect levels.
Sometimes songs just bring tears to your eyes… not sad, just so happy and full of energy you know the vocalist feels it 100%! Certain Slipknot songs and certain Korn songs bring that! I love your video’s. God bless.
Aileen,Korn are god when it comes to live performances. They and yourself will never get old❤️
This song makes me think of a time when I was a child playing with my hot wheels cars playing this song. Totally loved it!!!!
If anyone hasn’t heard Korn live you HAVE to. The power, the bass, everything you get live and feel that you can’t feel through headphones. It’s incredible. They created sounds I’ve never heard before. So damn good.
It makes us(subs) very happy to see you continuing your korn journey. They are my favorite band of all time, this song still slaps hard af. 🤘💙🤯
Fun watching this with you, love this performance!
Gets me every time. Thank you for this. Enjoyed the commentary very much. Within a year of this show Korn absolutely the world. There is no one like them
Korn has evolved over the last 25+ years, and I'm loving the transformational show!
So happy you're digging KoRn. JD has such a unique voice and glad you're enjoying them.
Hey girl, yes you felt that exactly right... whew what a vibe! Yes, the crowd definitely liquefied when the song kicked
Ahhh the music of my youth now I'm a old man still head banging to korn
I remember renting Woodstock Korn was my favorite band at the time and they KILLED it that first night. They always are great live seen them about 20 times now.
Korn played in Belgium this summer. Awesome concert!
I was at Woodstock 99 and in 94. I know people have been to concerts before but the number of people in one place at these is a different experience.
Love ur content, all these bands I grew up with in my high school years. Very glad to pass em along :)
I get the chills every time I watch this video with Jonathan singing "Are you ready!!" and the crowd goes nuts. Pure in the moment reaction by all of them.
Love your reactions, it is so fun to see you explore and discover cool older music. Hope you dig into these guys a bit more, there’s a lot of gems with Korn. You definitely need to see them live
Seen them in Nashville's Municipal Auditorium the very same year. Pitch black auditorium and you hear that cymbal start and then the guitar followed by Jonathan Davis screaming "ARE YOU READY??!!" is probably one of the best concert moments ever. Goosepimples. They're so good live.
I remember hearing that, under those people jumping, was a layer of people being jumped on.
Yes yes yes........This is the ONE song in this world that I literally can't contain myself for. I'm too old to mosh all the time now, but THIS......would make me!!!!!!! Hairs on my arms stand up EVERYTIME
I've seen korn live 3 times, and its amazing every time. I see them every time they come near.
Had I been there I think my heart would have exploded when he screamed "CMON WOODSTOOOOOOOOCK!" Lol
ive seen korn twice and the crowd gets so lit
I've only seen KoRn live once, and they are SO LOUD it ruled, I NEED to see them again soon. Love the reaction as always Aileen
So, STORRY TIME! I and my best friend ordered Woodstock’99 on demand and I was 17 years old and he was 15-16. 3 days of pure awesomeness at his house watching my generations version of Woodstock. Obviously it wasn’t the mellow version lol, but I remember when Blind came on and the watching the entire crowd just go completely HAM!!! It makes my hairs stand on end and the chills just like a wave throughout my entire body….I’ll never forget that show! More good songs to react to are Somebody Someone, A.D.I.D.A.S., Beg For Me, Mr. Rogers, Falling Away From Me, Clown, Faget and many others. I don’t want list many of their most poppiest songs, but Freak on a Leash is probably their most well known song besides Blind.
If I ever met someone like you who appreciated Korn so well in the real world, I'd propose on the spot
The point isn't hoping for a yes, I'm not crazy, but dear god I love the pleasure you get from these songs
this is truly one of my favorite sets of all time. whenever I drink a bit too much Woodstock 99 korn goes on. I would love to watch you react to there whole set, it truly is amazing
You watched the video for freak on a leash , your next korn song should be falling away from me the video picks up exactly where freak on a leash ends. Amazing song
Was front n center for all the glory that was Woodstock 99 great music great times chaotic outcome
Love this performance especially when the crowd gets into it
Love your passion for Rock and the great music.
Saw these guys in a bar in San Diego right before this album dropped, maybe 200 people crammed into the place. They opened with this song I'd I correctly recall. We were maybe 15-20 feet from the singer when he wasn't in the crowd. Every hair on my body stood on end from the very first note! After the show they gave out 4 song ep cassettes with this song on it! Thanks for the reaction!
You know it is pretty early for Korn becasue the Bitch (the mike stand made by Geiger) is not on stage. Just a fantastic band with few who can match them
'Somebody Someone " or old school "A.D.I.D.A.S" kick major butt too, love your reactions Aileen
This is one of my favorite songs. I could listen to it all day. Yes listen to the studio version. As well as alone I break and black as my soul
I saw that show live, I purchased the Woodstock pay per view and recorded every hour of that festival I've got a whole bin of VCR tapes full of all the bands that played Woodstock 99 out of all of them Korn was by far one of the best.
Going down memory lane ! Can't wait 🎃
Woodstock 99 was my first festival concert. Needless to say that weekend was amazing for both good and bad reasons.
I saw these guys at the Warfield in San Francisco back in 1995. They were the opening act for Marilyn Manson and Danzig. I gotta say, KoRn was fucking amazing! The adrenalin rush was intense; Jonathan Davis always puts on one hell of a show.
I was lucky enough to see them live before they blew up! Small club in Ft Lauderdale.. then they were one of the opening bands for Megadeth at Bicentennial Park in Miami.. and then a handful of other venues.... always 100% badass!!!
Awesome! One of their most iconic songs (pretty much the birth of nu-metal, being Korn's first single back in 1994) and one of their most famous performances as well. Definitely check out the album version too, when you get a chance. This live version is great, especially seeing the crazy energy Korn has live. But I think the album version is incredible, and you can hear little details more clearly. Particularly the vocal layering, how the guitars sound and how they were mixed sounds even better in the studio (in my opinion), how Jonathan sings the "What if I should die?" part (since during their concerts the audience always sings that section), the way each instrument slowly adds to the explosive intro, a particular snare drum sound that is also on Slipknot's self-titled album (Korn and Slipknot had the same producer for their major label debut albums), and a short instrumental outro that isn't on the live version. Sorry, I know that was long-winded, haha. I just love their self-titled album and how it sounds.
every1 should experience woodstock once in their life, whoever - if U enjoy the music - its awesome!
This was such a legendary performance
the bass lines and james shaffer and heads guitar that really heavy sound funky they were so good at harnessing some of that aggression
What a performance 🤘🏻
I love your Korn and NF reactions!!
At 57 yr.s I saw Korn awesome concert.
OMG it's so fun to find Korn's "blind" here ah ah. I'm happy that you liked that pur moment of nu metal ! Kiss from Paris.
