Best Korn story in history happened in Zeeland Michigan. Student wore his Korn shirt (black, with just the band name) to school and was suspended. Had something to do with the K being backwards. A made up reason that made no sense. Word travelled and Korn made a detour in their tour and drove up to Zeeland and handed concert shirt out the back of their truck to as many students that wanted one. Right outside the schools parking lot. I've never been a fan (not my kind of music), but these are some really good guys here. Each and everyone of them. Had a pleasure of working with them a couple of shows back then.
Can confirm this! also, was supposed to see Korn at Lollapalooza in 96 at Mears,Mi (val du lakes) Monkey was ‘sick’ so Korn wasn’t there, but that gave Tool extra stage time (Maynard of Tool lived a few mins away from there at one point)
I was there near the front on the right side. I became a huge fan since that night (hence my name). They have dozens of bangin songs with killer music videos. Go down the rabbit hole 😉
While mosh pits look violent on the surface, the metal crowd is not at all violent.. The goal is never to hurt people, you pick people up if they fall over ect. The issue is when a pop crowd moshes and doesn't understand the culture/etiquette. I remember having a young girl at the front one year, and the crowd basically parts way to let her back out since she clearly shouldn't of been in there lol
While this is normally true, the pit at Woodstock 99 was absolutely dangerous. A lot of people got serious injuries and what made it worse was how big the pit was
@@EnergeticxCheeseinsufficient security, no D barrier and a “we can do whatever the fuck we want” attitude will always lead to disaster. Case in point: Woodstock 99
crazy 3 days me and friends where to left of tower when it went off it dropped I went right they all went left the crowd heave was Insane met up with them back at the tents sometime before sunrise =)
It's a kilt, Davis went to Highland High in Bakersfield Ca, the mascot were the Scots and he learned bagpipes there. Watch the videp for Blind, the vocals are cleaner but that moment is the Birth of NuMetal
When this genre started in early 90s (NuMetal) what made it unique is they took certain elements of Hip Hop and made rock out of it. It's not Rap Rock, like Rage or Linkin Park. But the way the drums and bass is used to create the song structure and the rhythm guitars is how hip hop is structured. Very unique at the time.
Peak KoRn was as heavy as anything out there. They may not be the fastest but they... were... HEAAAAVVVYYYY. As for the mosh pit, it was so much fun in the early 90's. So many good hard bands and a lot of incredible music. The only thing that tops this is Pantera and Metallica in Russia which was about as insane as it gets.
These were Jonatham's kilt days. Loved his kilts. He is not scottish. He does, however, play bagpipes. He brings my rage out. He sings alot about shitty mental health, which we all tend to have. Loved his Adidas kilt outfit he wore to the MTV music awards. Speaking of ADIDAS, that's a good one to check out as well.
If you want to see an insane side of moshing you should look at the videoclip from Irate with the song Vendetta. Legends in the NYC Hardcore scene, they have a different way of moshing its like a dance but very violent, they don't really target people on purpose but wildly spin kick and punch around or 2 step. Most metal guys hate it, I love it. Everyone is brothers after the show ends anyways even if you break a nose.
Woodstock 99 was an experience, and you had to be there to truly understand what it was like and what happened. I spent 3 days living among the Mud People, a sort of impromptu tribe of mostly Pacifists that came together, called that because we were covered in mud from the torrential rains that happened on the dirt field during the festival. Among my time there, I saw more than my share of the best and worst of humanity. Attempted sexual assault and fist fights were common, as was heavy drinking and substance abuse, which often led to overdoses, then there were the injuries and sickness that came from people in the mosh pits. The price gouging of $15-25 bottles of water, crowded or non-existent porta potties, toilets, or other outhouses, the complete absence of food for that many people for the duration. When people started setting fires and rocking the tower until it fell down, it was simultaneously awesome, inspiring, and terrifying. In the aftermath, the muddy puddles and trash everywhere made it look less like a concert venue and more like a battlefield. But the things I experienced there are the type to haunt you and shape your character for life. And I wouldn't do it differently if I could.
Are you talking about 94 or 99. There was no torrential rain during 99, only a brief downpour on Saturday night and Sunday. The “mud” was caused by a smashed water main mixed with human waste.
@@Demonico-j7x Exactly right. I was 16 at the time and I was there with my older siblings and some friends. It was a crazy 3 days to say the least. Dude is either getting the two confused or is talking about his Netflix experience.

Korn "Faget", "Daddy", "Need To", "Good God", "here to stay", "cold", "sean olson", Got the life", "BBK". Always do album version of Korn songs first to get the feel of the emotion.
If you ever get a chance you should see them. They still tour and still put on a fuck of a show. Tickets tend to be pretty cheap for a band their size too

Prof is unique forsure. Idk if parody would be the right word. He doesn't shy away from using humor and irony in his music and videos. His serious stuff is just as powerful as well, though. The song "Louisiana" is a great example of that.
