Unbelievable rendition. Jon's angelic voice, Chris's acoustic bass and harmonizing, Steve's mandolin playing, Rick's beautiful piano and Alans percussion. Might be one of my favorite Utube videos.
Chris was perfect. Damn. His voice was as powerful as his bass playing. What a gift to humanity he was. I still cry about losing him. I’m grateful for the inspiration he still gives me. RIP.
@@johnarcarese172 It's called a joke. With two singers named Jon, both with that same spelling, the "No Jon No Yes" is going to have to find a new slogan. lol. I like both Jons btw, but of course it easy to tell the difference.
Jon has the most amazing ecstatic energy as though it’s even grown with time if possible. What a beautiful and extremely talented man. There is never a doubt of his pureness, happiness and authenticity. I’ve loved this band for too long to even say.
I’m 60 years old now and I think getting old sucks and is cruel . I want to go back to these days so bad but we know we can’t . So instead I’ll smoke a joint and go back in my mind thanks to music like this
The most AWESOME song with Jons voice and Rick on keyboards! YES!!! They sound as superb as ever! Such a shame though as Steves balance was way too low - his closing riffs on the Les Paul are legendary. Still brilliant though!
What a beautiful tune right? I remember My best friend, a Cockateil bird named Dusty Bird, flew to the heavens, a few years later he came back to say goodbye.
Just sitting here thinking! Is there a better song? Has there ever been a better group of of musicians and a better vocalist? Glad I found this At an early age!
@PAULA Rowe Ms. Rowe, not that you asked, but if you will gracefully oblige me, I saw Yes in Providence, RI, in 1978. Center revolving stage. Wakeman’s keyboards were present, however they were silent, UNTIL Mr. Wakeman made his appearance about 20 minutes into the first set. He was still heavy, dressed in black robe. “The Fish” was incredible!! The lights went out for but one spotlight focused on bassist as his platform slowly ascended!
It's truly sad to see the members of this incredible group of musicians, start to fade into eternity! I've seen YES no less than 13 times in concert, and I walked away totally amazed each time! RIP Chris and Alan!
Went to see Nice in the Ulster Hall in Belfast possibly late 60s. Yes and bongo dog were among the supporting acts. Yes came on just before Nice and blew us away!! They were a class act!! Keith Emerson and the boys didn’t have a chance. I rushed out immediately and bought the “YES” album and to this day it’s still my favourite album of all time.
What a wonderful later version of this eternal amazing YES classic with the original lineup, just 27 years later: Jon still at his vocal heights at the age of 60, this time with the classical guitar, Steve still with his legendary Portuguese guitar, this time not changing over to his Gibson ES-175 for the end solo, Rick still playful and full of ornaments, this time trading his synth for the e-piano, Alan with a relatively simple drum set-up that fits in nice'n'easy, and the unforgettable Chris, this time trading his legendary white Rickenbacker bass for his (Martin?) acoustic-electric ... The entire setting almost has a sort of "unplugged" character to it ... yet conserving the same spirit and these amazing vocal arrangements ...Wow! Thank you, YES! And thank you, Eagle Rock, for uploading it here.
I am sooo glad I got to be at this show with my prog-rock buddies! Really good seats, classic lineup, and this song was part of an unexpected acoustic set that was just really magic.
I was privileged to see this line-up on the 35th Anniversary tour. Just phenomenal. Some concerts are so perfect that you don't want to see the band again, but for that one concert to live in your memory undiluted forever.
This made me so happy. to see them performing together again. To see Jon looking so happy, they all look happy to be together again, except Steve, who has never looked happy, but he was. I know he was.
This song is very simple that's why I love its chords, I"m a fan of the band "YES" they are song that we never get tired of appreciating and enjoying, I miss this progressive rock band I'm gld I have RUclips to remeber.
I always thought Jon Anderson's voice was another instrument. Age has taken a toll, my favorite band in the 70's. Saw them in Louisville, KY with Rick Wakeman...sweet memories
What do you mean, age has taken a toll? Jon's voice is sweet and strong as he begins a tour and project with Jean Luc Ponty as frontman for the Anderson Ponty Band that may last for quite a while. Meanwhile, Yes has just released a new album and continues to tour strong - rocking out 3 hour shows!
Gosh, I wish this lineup was still together. Rest easy Chris...
You're so right, 02R96!
Agreed!!
And Alan too 😢
What an amazing concert in Heaven ❤
Unbelievable rendition. Jon's angelic voice, Chris's acoustic bass and harmonizing, Steve's mandolin playing, Rick's beautiful piano and Alans percussion. Might be one of my favorite Utube videos.
Wonderful message brother. I strongly agree.
The fabulous Rick Wakeman…..long live the Royal College of Music…….
Chris was perfect. Damn. His voice was as powerful as his bass playing. What a gift to humanity he was. I still cry about losing him. I’m grateful for the inspiration he still gives me. RIP.
“They all are!”
no one can sing like Jon.
Diddo
Indeed. Jon Davison is excellent.
No one.
@@whackinesstomfooleryinc.7854 Anderson, not Davidson. You must be tone deaf…

The best line up of all times 😍❤ RIP Chris and Alan 😭

He is not the only one! Mention the rest of the band! All equals.
@@michaelcraig9449 All amazingly talented, true originals.
He was beaming his joy!
Hearing Chris's vocals shadow Jon Anderson still gives me the chills.
My thought exactly
Me too.....been listening since 78......
When Chris died about 50% of Yes' essence died along with him.
Ladies and gentlemen Chris Squire and Yes the greatest show on earth
I’m 60 years old now and I think getting old sucks and is cruel . I want to go back to these days so bad but we know we can’t . So instead I’ll smoke a joint and go back in my mind thanks to music like this
Ha ha i know exactly where u r coming from, but i dont need any substances. Loved this song as a kid. Still love it in 2024❤
Save some for me ❤
your dragon energy is still powerful, just touch some wood and earth, and there you have it:)
My favorite progressive rock band, and probably my favorite band of all! Saw them in 1974 and again in 1984.
Luck you! Them and Asia!
No other vocalist should ever be allowed to sing this song, or any other Yes song.
Jon Andersons voice is truly unique.
Break the news to that hack Jon Davison
Surprised the stage didn't collapse from the weight of all that talent! Oh My!!🥰😎
I do love all the YES members but RICK WAKEMAN was FANTASTIC on this performance !!
Thanks to countless hours of video, Chris Squire is still with us. What a thing!
I'm so glad that I was born when I was!
The most AWESOME song with Jons voice and Rick on keyboards! YES!!! They sound as superb as ever! Such a shame though as Steves balance was way too low - his closing riffs on the Les Paul are legendary. Still brilliant though!
Love Chris Squire's acoustic bass on here. The whole performance is stellar.

Utterly fabulous; that voice; I love this song, and this rendition. Makes me happy. Thanx guys.
That is such what it did for me in this time. A warm-faced boyish grin with welling joyous tear. Love these gents, but Jon more to the infinite. :-)
this is definitely the CLASSIC lineup.....
Alan's great but Bill is the original drummer
Jon and Chris complement one another perfectly. ♥ Pure magic ♥
Chris, you are missed down here. And what an incredible version of that song this is! I love to listen to all their wonderous stories for hours
Don't worry ! They play this in Heaven.
Is Jon Anderson an Angel ?? Sent from the heavens to sing his wonderous stories . ???
Yes!
Whaou! Jon Anderson. ,Wakeman, Yes, !!!!!!!
Love them all
Like 1977 all over again. Brilliant Jon, Rick, etc...
Only an angel can sing like john
This man is a prophet, much wisdom in his words..
They were perfect together. Awesome
This group’s incredible music catalogueis the result of superior talents recording together! Not a weak spot to be found. Love this song.
Chris I never missed a musician more than I miss you. That voice and bass- such beauty and eloquence. You’ll always be the best and my fav.
Just sitting here thinking! Is there a better song? Has there ever been a better group of of musicians and a better vocalist? Glad I found this At an early age!
Beautiful, I love the tune. And so do my brothers.
I saw YES live in the '70s and something has always stuck with me - They sound better live than on a recording. Perfectly flawless!
KLM Builders so did I at Bingley Hall. Where did you see them?

Brings tears to my eyes. Perfection, the perfect storm.
Amazingly, the sound never changes ❤❤❤

best band ever i was 12 years and bought Tales From the Topografic Oceans
What I would give to hear these 5 live one more time. Thank you for the video
I was captivated by this song in 1978. Imagine my surprise today, 47 years later learning the word is actually “wondrous”.
Yes at its best
Entertaining how different the song sounds now that chris takes a lower harmony than he once did. Chris really was an integral part of this band.
Superb. Anderson's voice beautiful as ever...
They still sound fantastic! The last time I saw them was 20 years ago (same lineup) at the Tower Theater in Philly... what a show!
A classic rock song brilliantly performed by the classic rock band YES.

When my wife (then fiance) was studying at Goldsmiths College in London in the the very early 1970s, she saw Yes in concert there.
amazing band
His voice is absolutely amazing and Chris's voice blends beautifully with it.
Beautiful song
Oh YES I love this song ❤
Linda música! Yes forever!
What a pity...!
Chris...dont stay.
Miss you.
Gives me goosebumps…. 🌠❤🔥🌠
Among my several basses, is a Martin acoustic like the one CS is playing in this song.
YES de mis bandas consentidas desde que escuche su álbum Frágil allá por los años 70's hoy tengo ya 71 años
