I keep thinking I should put a winch on mine, for now I have 60' of 3/8 (10mm) with 3 eyes at 20' intervals, and a choker bell... use the loader to pull logs, it works but you need somebody with something resembling a clue on the ground... so most of the time its a total PITA... but I've yarded some huge wood with it... always skairt tis gonna break and whack out muh teefs... I do wonder if hanging a block from the main boom would be an asset or a hindrance?
There is one hanging on the truck, doesn't get used though. Not much winching goes on .This was first winch use in just over a year. The cable is so full of jaggers that the grapple doesnt hurt it much more.
