me and my brother let Leo die and i told him to get it done quickly but he looked at me with so much sadness because i saw his lip moving so i gave a silent moment with leo's death and i broke down crying
Funny enough, when my best friend and I were playing, two things were deciding factors to make me "try" without winning against Leo. Vincent's tone when she told him to just go stuck with me and how much Leo and wife been through and still love each other as they take on the world...and, my letter is a farewell, Leo didn't get that with his wife and so with those two things I played in my head "No, Leo, kill me...You have more to live for." and that is why I consider things like how you say goodbye to be so impactful, if she verbally and emotionally told me to return? I would have done everything I could to beat Leo, but with how I saw my/Vincent's life, I was like "And now I will have this to haunt me for life? No...just kill me."
Something I absolutely love about this ending that I'm not sure a lot of people noticed (or maybe they did notice and just didn't say it) is the way Vincent tells Leo to take his letter to his wife. He's not *asking* Leo to do it, or threatening him or anything like it, he's outright *telling* Leo to take his last written words to his widowed wife who is left with their only child. Vincent putting all his faith that his last written words will be delivered to his wife in the hands of the man who hates him the most at that moment. *And Leo obliges without a word.* A lot of people on Vincent's side argue that Leo is a criminal, and thus a scumbag who deserved to get used. This is utter garbage. We see throughout the game that Leo, while definitely not being a saint, is still a mostly good person who is kind and caring to people he's close to and is loyal to those he thinks are loyal to him. He had a healthy, loving relationship with both his wife and his son, and always had Vincent's back throughout their adventures (let me just say right now that the argument that Vincent has better morals is almost total BS; he can choose to go along with Leo's violent solutions and ideas at every turn rather than try to talk him out of it, just like Leo can choose to go with Vincent's more peaceful solutions and throw away his own ideas at any point). Let it be known that Leo could've easily chosen not have delivered the letter; he could've slapped the letter out of Vincent's weak hand and into the wind where there would've been no chance for either of them to retreive it and told Vincent to suck it, or he could've taken it and tossed it into a random garbage can and cursed Vincent under his breath, or any number of things that don't involve him carrying out the wish of the man who pretty much destroyed his trust and pursued his return to prison for ten minutes and earned his utter hatred. But no, Leo took the time to visit the wife of someone he once trusted - a woman who would see him executed for killing her husband - to deliver a letter that showed how Vincent felt about her and their relationship. Even if driving to Carol's and driving away took a small amount of time, it still risked the safety of himself and his family from the bureau's searching eyes and could've been enough time for the FBI to find and capture Leo. Leo still respected Vincent that much, or at least felt he owed him that even after Vincent betrayed him and revealed that he used him almost exactly like how Harvey used him. It might seem small, but it isn't if it's an integral part of one ending out of two in an amazing game.
While what you say may indeed have some weight, the opposite is also true. Both men display a great amount of courage in the face of danger, as well showing great care and responsibility towards their family. In my eyes both are to be commended in that respect, yet, it is not unreasonable for one to think of Leo in a subpar way compared to Vincent. For one, Leo is indeed a criminal, a thief, and in this case a murderer. Neither of these traits are admirable and rightfully so, I don't have much sympathy for thieves and even less for a murderer. Vincent on the other hand is neither of these things. I believe it is important to remember that Vincent is a dedicated officer willing to go through the most perilous dangers in order to bring criminals to justice. Was it wrong of him to go through this adventure to kill Harvey? Maybe. Was is wrong of him to (Optionally) choose Leo's way? Possibly, although officers undercover often have to do things that aren't moral in the first place. Could a different officer succeed at this task? Unlikely. Was it wrong for Vincent to turn Leo in to the police? Not in the slightest, to say that law enforcement aren't liable to trick or deceive criminals in the advancement of their duty would be a deterrent to their work. It doesn't do Vincent any justice to say his ending was the classical case of Good triumphs over Evil. All throughout their confrontation he pleaded with Leo to stop and give himself in, that indeed he was sorry that it had to end this way. The way they both reached for each others hand is a sign that Vincent did indeed care for Leo. Vincent could've looked at Leo with moral contempt who had just took him hostage and nearly killed him. He could've swatted Leo's hand away to deny him any comfort in his final moments alive. Heck, he could've shot him between the eyes and put him out of his misery, and no one would've questioned him about it. Yet he did none of those things. Without Leo even asking him he took it upon himself to tell his wife the news. He could've asked another officer to tell her in his place, but he didn't, because he respected the man who helped him achieve vengeance for both families. Few men would do such a thing, to look at the wife of the man he killed and tell her that he killed him not out of hatred but because he had no choice. I believe Vincent for the first time hated to be an officer after that. To have gone through hell and back only to kill his partner? It's no wonder he resigned from the force. The protagonists in this game are well written, even more so in a fantastic game of teamwork, friendship and betrayal. I do hope this reply finds you well. Not to start an argument of any kind, but that there are indeed different valid points of view.
people who argue the leo criminal part should face the reality of how shitty of a cop you have to be to use and screw someone completely over for no good reason that results in someones whole fam getting fucked up
I played this with my best friend, I played Vincent and he played Leo, matching characters for the both of us. We interacted with ALL the stuff in the game, had so much fun discussing the various decisions and interacting with everything in general. And when this last chapter began, and the health bars appeared, we were already crying. This game is a wonderful experience if you play it with a right friend. It was SO good. Great work, Hazelight.
This is the best ending even from a cynical point of view: With Vincent dying the wife gets his pension and his young daughter never knew him anyway. With Leo dying there's only another single mother and child stuck in poverty, and the son actually grew up with his father.
@@anonymous5409 Yes, she has no emotional attachment to him built up already, she'll always be sad she doesn't have one, but she'll never miss having one. And by fine I mean more fine than the other option
MilkShake well, Alex experienced the joy of having a father, sure, he’ll miss Leo after he dies, but he made memories with his father. However, Vincent’s daughter needs to know her father at least. My way of thinking is that it is better to experience things and lose it later than not experiencing it at all ( sorry, I know my English is bad, I’m not a native English speaker )
@@anonymous5409 for not being native, your English is really good! But I think it's easier to live with something you never had that to live without something you once had. Alex will be more emotionally scarred than Vincent's daughter (idk her name)
Travis Ritz Ain't said that... An some people could label this as a masterpiece due to how much they enjoyed it. So I love until dawn, think it's a fantastic game and definitely a masterpiece of gaming. But others may not think the same as I do...
My best friend and I played this game. We went in, expecting an easy ride with some fun and hilarious shenanigans. He picked Leo and I picked Vincent. We did have some of those...but when that moment came around, and the health bars appeared...we were on the verge of tears. We didn’t want to kill each other, and as we fought each other, we kept apologizing to each other for every bullet we fired. Every hit we landed felt like a betrayal as we both cried endlessly. And when Leo took Vincent’s letter, as the last sign of coop in the game, with us actually perfectly syncing the buttons...we were devastated. This game was an absolute masterpiece, guaranteed to bring all the friends who play it to tears. Well done, Josef Fares. Well done.
Damn...I loved them both and I didn’t want either of them to die. The hurt in Leo’s voice when he found out Vincent was a cop was so heart wrenching. I prefer this ending, because Leo has a chance to start over.
Dude, a buddy of mine and I were torn to see the twist at the end. I was Vincent and had somehow won the ending event, but damn were we shook. It was one hell of a storyline.
I be honest I like Leo’s ending a lot better because at the end when him and his family leave it really feels like what the title of game is, “A Way Out”. Actually thinking about it Leo was the only one who was truly trying to find a way out, not that Vincent wasn’t since he too was trying to escape the prison of course but Vince is a cop who was trying to convince Leo to lead him to Harvey for revenge, while Leo was also looking for revenge he was also looking for the diamond so him and his family can escape for a better life. All in all I love both characters very much because of their personality, their story, and their relationship, sad it had to go done the way it did, but I think Leo’s ending is more dramatic and fulfilling.
I played Leo and I really regret taking the shot. When I reached for the gun, I was all like "ok, gotta pop his kneecap and then make an escape". Imagine how I felt when I realized that this is impossible. Played this with a good buddy of mine and I think he's still angry with me :D I hoped for a kind of "good" ending where both part ways after having a good fistfight and that's it. well played Hazelight... well played... knew it like ten minutes into the game but hey, still can't deny that it was heartbreaking.
I’m seeing a lot of comments wishing for a third ending where they both survive, and personally, I’m glad they didn’t. The story would lose a lot of its punch if there were no consequences. All the fun things you can do along the way further the friendship between the two (seesaw, basketball, splashing each other), and it makes the end that much more potent. This one’s gonna stick with me for a while.
Vincent was doing his job, and he didn't lie about Harvy killing his brother. He also didn't have to hold Leo's hand as he died or go tell his girlfriend what happened. Hell, he even partially could've blamed Leo for what happened to his brother since Leo was there too but his actions prove he didn't. I believe they truly were friends by the end and the ending is an emotionally destructive masterpiece no matter who you go with, although Vincent's hits me harder personally.
I think this is the canon ending, since it has the detail of the letter, it fits more with Leo's anti-hero arc , and Vincent's wife and daughter being left without him feels more impactful.
It also feels more fitting just because of how Leo looked and felt when he was with his family. Leo looks like he's emotionally scarred from the betrayal.
Yes. In the scene when he leaves the letter at Carol's door and when he's driving his family somewhere safe, I think he's realizing that he regrets killing Vincent. He's still pissed at his betrayal, but afterwards he's remorseful that he just left a woman and her child without their husband/father when they needed Vincent most. I don't think Leo would realy forgive Vincent, at least not for a while, but if he had the chance to do it again, he'd just shoot Vincent in the knee and escape while still leaving Vincent alive.
For sure. Yes, Leo hates Vincent for betraying him just like Harvey did, but at the same time, he clearly took no pleasure in killing Vincent. And when you see him deliver Vincent's apology letter to Carol, you can see the guilt on his face, and he is unable to face the now-widowed Carol. It's possible that, even with the betrayal, deep down, there was still a part of Leo who enjoyed his time with his former friend.
I was leo, I died, I cried and I'm so so devastated, I don't know which ending is sadder, I'm just sad and I love this game. Thank you Joesf Fares and tears, that's all.
I finished this game a couple days ago with the Vincent ending (I know, I'm MEGA late to the party. I only found out about this game a few weeks ago). It was so sad. I came here to watch the Leo ending so I could see both. Man, such a sad way to end the game. No matter who "wins" in the final battle, they both lose. They formed a real bond and could have been great friends if there could have been a way for both of them to live and be set free from prison/police work. In their respective endings, they both realised they had lost a friend. Leo and Vincent weren't dissimilar. What a brilliant game and even better story line. Well done developers!
I think it did make him happy to a certain extent, but not for reasons you'd think. He's glad he's back with his family, and happy that two potential enemies are gone from the world, but it's obvious he regrets not simply escaping rather than confronting and killing Vincent. After delivering the letter to Carol, Leo is remorseful that he took away a husband and father when Carol and Julie needed him most, and if he could do it again he would let Vincent live if only so he could be there for his wife and daughter while Leo took his family somewhere safe.
@@mrreyes5004 and especially considering Leo *was* trying to escape, and even disarmed Vincent before Vincent attacked him. killing him was the only way out.
You know what, when I saw the headlines that this game only needed one copy for online coop, I didn't believe it, EA is a terrible company that only care about making a profit. But every now and again... They come out of nowhere and deliver something so deep and meaningful, I didn't even watch the full trailer, that's how little interest I had in this game, but my brother bought it and we played it and just wow. I fucking love this game.
My brother and I played this, he watched about half a play through of it and he picked Leo and I was Vincent..... We got the other ending. For both of these I feel like I had my heartstrings yanked out and played like a banjo
Doesn’t matter who betrayed who, a way out means, only one will live, that two faced snake and that criminal had a relationship but it ended, don’t hate Vincent, he made Leo the man he is today.
WOW I nver thought about it like that. if I were to step on a bag of dogshit and stay with me here. I think it would mean the point of the game for everyone is to BE! YOU know what mean? like think about it real hard. it would mean that you the player understand the thing the game was saying like think about it. if you were in a situation where you needed to ''BE'' you would do it right? it's so great a game came along that really gets it. THEY GET IT DO YOU?
Ik it’s a co-op game but Leo is without a doubt the main character, and I felt that throughout the whole game. This is coming from someone who played Vincent throughout the game and ended up killing Leo. Just didn’t feel right even if I was playing him.
Even though I dislike both endings, I think this one is better. Leo finally gets a chance to be a better father. Not that Vincent didn't deserve the same, but at some point I felt like he was a traitor all along.
Both endings were sad There is no better one Leo got back with his family but they still have to run away But because he killed Vincent, Carol’s family will never be whole again and her daughter will never have a dad Vincent finally can join his wife and become a dad and a good husband, he vows to never leave them again But Leo’s death has caused Linda to lose his husband and become alone with her son again
I don't really get the hate on Vincent. At the end of the day he was a cop and Leo was a criminal. Vincent using Leo like that was cruel, but he did offer to reduce Leo's sentence (which was for life anyway). Neither of them would have needed to die if Leo didn't start the shootout.
It has always been Leo against the world. Not everyone is bad because they are a criminal. Leo trusted Vincent, Leo probably loved Vincent. Leo loves his family and is loyal to those who are loyal to him back. He was put in a disadvantaged situation and God knows that during the 70s that shit would be hard to get out of. I personally see Leo as the far superior one. Vincent knew damn well he would be ruining Leo's life by putting him back in the cell. Vincent knew damn well what he was doing. Leo was innocent.
Vincent shouldve told leo to run, and tell his people he couldnt find him. That way they both live and they both win. and it also sets the game up for a possible sequal sigh sigh
Leo was not innocent at all. No amount of hardship justifies crime. Leo stole for a thug, suggested beating up an old couple, and generally just had violent solutions to every problem he was faced. Who held him back from that? Vincent. Every time. From releasing the horses, to choosing to talk their way out of problems instead of sorting them out the "easy way" (with fists). Vincent even washes the dishes for the old couple they're forced to rob. What does Leo do? He draws a moustaches on their pictures and eats their food. Yes, Leo had a hard upbringing, and it was all very sad. But regardless of what made you an asshole, that doesn't mean you get to be an asshole and walk away each time. Vincent avenged his brother and protected his family from a murderer who may have one day come back to finish the job. He lied to a criminal to achieve this, and everyone thinks he's the bad guy in all of this. Honestly...
Vincent's end seems like the slightly better of the two, but I feel like in that scenario, Alex will grow up seeking revenge for his father's death, whereas Julie would be too young to even consider such a thing.
Jesus.. I finished this a few days ago with a friend and Leo's was soooo much sadder than Vincent's. . I had one of the moments when you try catching your breath while crying.. Yeahh. A game has never made me cry so hard
hey guys combat jay here will like to tell to i got cloud amiibo my mom and i ahead to a metro town my mom ask me to go EB games and i was buy steam gift card and then i got Cloud amiibo
This endings better just artistically, i dont hold any spite for any character, this just ends in a beautiful and satisfying resolution, much better than the other
I know you get these two endings because it's the most realistic, but I still wish you could have gotten an ending where Vincent could let Leo escape. Vincent having avenged his brother and Leo getting to go back to his family.
This game broke my five year streak of not crying when I played it with a friend. I was 16 then, and it's genuinely such a core memory to me it's unbelievable. I remember the exact time, 1:04 in the morning in July during the summer break, and I stood up, leaned against a wall, and fucking cried my eyes out like an infant. Not sobbing or anything, but I was heaving with silent tears. What a fucking game. Its a weird feeling. Part of me hates that it had to end, like I want a sequel of some kind. The other half realises just how unbelievably good the ending for the game is and wouldn't have it changed in anyway. God I fucking love this game.
Me and my mate were so shocked when they made the sort of truce at the end. It touched my heart really hard, I wasn’t expecting it, plus the music makes it a whole lot sadder. We were also shocked when Vincent betrayed. Man I love this game
Japanese shibe Yes, this is the good ending. Let me explain: Leo has been imprisoned for almost all of his life after being betrayed, he found a person that was willing to help him to get out if the facility so Leo can finally meet his loved family. After Leo killing the man that Betrayed him (Harvey) He is once again betrayed by Vincent, Vincent dies. Also, note: Vincent did not truly love his family therefore he is the bad character of this game. With Leo FINALLY Escaping the police and succesfully killing Vincent him and his family meet in a motel. They pack up and leave forever, Leo finally returning to his family for once and for all. Leo trusted Vincent all along, all Vincent wanted was revenge for his brother (which he did) but then he wrongfully snitches on Leo. Vincent is a back stabbing traitor.
Vincent did love his family did you miss the letter? He wanted to reduce Leo's sentence he cared for Leo he didn't snitch he was undercover do you know what snitch implies they knew all along they needed Leo to get to Harvey a greater evil but Vincent is a cop and had to do his job he tried to convince Leo to stop and take the jail time yea he got betrayed but it was needed neither ending are "good"
VideoGameFreak there are no good endings. On one hand you kill a person who did betray you but is willing to give you less jail time when you don’t deserve it because of your short temper. You leave a newborn baby without a father and a new mother without a husband. On the other hand you go with the person that betrayed someone who actually trusted you. You leave a boy without his father and a struggling wife alone. You regret your actions in the end and resign, hopefully to live peacefully with your wife. Neither ending is good, there is no bad guy in the end because you already took him out. The ending is just sad, and sadly pretty realistic
You can tell who's a lil kid and who's a grown up in these comments based on wether or not they think the game had a good ending. Not that it's a bad thing, proves that the younger ones enjoy good stuff too
Played this with my friend with no idea of how it was going to end. Once we got there, it was so sad watching these two strangers turned brothers have to kill each other.
We thought we beat the game on the plane, so my friend went to go take a shit while all the fucking bombshells were dropping lmao. He didn't believe me when I said he was a nark lmao
Ngl Leo's death was more heartbreaking cuz atleast Vincent funeral he got some attention.. but in Leo's death noone showed up expect his wife and his son
I don't wanna spoil the moment but it's raining pretty hard and Vincent had to swim out of a sunken vehicle like fifteen minutes ago, that letter is Ruined.
There are a lot of reasons why this ending is better, but the main one is that leo got a beard so he no longer has those atrocious sideburns just there
Vincent dies and still have all the honor from the police department as a hero. even the daughter one day will know him as a hero instead of a traitor while leo dies with no one's honoring him, just his family and forever he'll be known as a criminal than a hero
Just finished playing this game with my husband (I was Leo, he was Vincent), and I’m still pissed he was a cop the whole time. AND he just barely beat me at the end. Gutted. 10/10 game.
Japanese shibe because it sucked! It was so sad! It was like the bad ending, where the young kid and the hopeful wife lost their husband/father right after he went through the trials of escaping the jail during the entire game. The entire point of the Game was worthless almost with that ending
Vince Moscar first of all Leo and his wife have been together ever since they were 12 because they were in an orphanage. And they were brought into that life of robbing because they had nothing. And if Vincent is such a good cop how come he got his brother Corey killed. And if Vincent would’ve left Leo alone and he would still be alive and being with his daughter
I wish it didn't have to end with one of them dying, IRL there definitely would've been another way. But it is a really powerful and affecting ending and I am currently crying after watching both versions.
I saw the game grumps get the Vincent ending, which made me cry. So I came to see the leo ending, just so I'd know it. I wasn't expecting to cry to this one cause I already saw the other but god, I lost it at the love letter. This was a good game.
I finished this game with a cousin. From the start we guessed Vincent was a cop. But the twist in the end was so clichee and bad that my cousin didn't even bother to stop or attack me. His exact words were "Dude my character is a fucking douchebag. Leo doesn't deserve this shit I feel bad for him." and "I'm not shooting. I'll stand still and you headshot me." Also when Vincent asked Leo to give the letter to his wife he said "Don't fucking dare pick up that letter, that cun't doesn't deserve it."
When i remembered that this was made by the same guys that made Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, I tried so hard to mentally prepare myself for the ending. But this...I was not prepared for...so just like I did with Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, I cried like a baby TvT
"canon" is such a silly word. It's fiction. None of this happened, and it's strange to treat a writer as a god of a fictional universe, when the fiction plays out in YOUR head. "canon" is whatever you want to be "canon".
It seems as though Leo’s ending is preferable to a lot of if not most players . In this comments section I find people either making jokes or discussing why they felt this ending was better. The videos of Vincent’s ending have a lot more comments about how sad the game is.
This ending was unfair cuz when they crawled to the gun leo's nose game him an aerodynamic advantage
did you know the guy who voices Leo actually looks exactly like Leo because the guy who voices him is the director for the game’s brother
This is the best comment ever 🤣
😂
its because leo has more health
*SHART1*
Leo's ending must be so genuinely scarring, to have someone you genuinely trusted turn on you like that and to make it out alive. Jesus christ it's so freaking sad this game was so well done
Not to make it out alive, cause Vincent could've just let him free or something but he chose to shoot him when he barely had any strength left 😭😭😭😭😭

We interacted with ALL the stuff in the game, had so much fun discussing the various decisions and interacting with everything in general. And when this last chapter began, and the health bars appeared, we were already crying.
This game is a wonderful experience if you play it with a right friend. It was SO good. Great work, Hazelight.

the ending is actually very sad
This is the best ending even from a cynical point of view: With Vincent dying the wife gets his pension and his young daughter never knew him anyway. With Leo dying there's only another single mother and child stuck in poverty, and the son actually grew up with his father.
The Hero of Goats So, it’s fine with a daughter growing up without her even knowing her father?
@@anonymous5409 Yes.

Well done.
Sytion shut up... maybe your mad cuz u can't have that good of a bond between you and your friends

Bioshocker N7 bruh chill it's just a game
Damn...I loved them both and I didn’t want either of them to die. The hurt in Leo’s voice when he found out Vincent was a cop was so heart wrenching. I prefer this ending, because Leo has a chance to start over.
Passed this game in 1 day with my brother and it was a great experience just wish they had an ending were there both free and good friends.
You want be friend with who backstabbed you?
This game is a friendship killer.
Same
Dude, a buddy of mine and I were torn to see the twist at the end. I was Vincent and had somehow won the ending event, but damn were we shook. It was one hell of a storyline.
agreed
Played this with a good buddy of mine and I think he's still angry with me :D
I hoped for a kind of "good" ending where both part ways after having a good fistfight and that's it.
well played Hazelight... well played... knew it like ten minutes into the game but hey, still can't deny that it was heartbreaking.
YEAH TOTES (FART NOISES!!!!!!)
Step 1:lay down
Step 2:try not to cry
Step 3:cry a lot
@@Bloodhurl67he definitely is scarred, especially with how he greets his family. No energy, just bittersweetness.
You think leo misses vincent to an extent?
I'm sad for both, but I like the game. I liked both ending
Man they trusted each other :(
Great story though 10/10.1
Same I finish it yesterday with my cousin
this is one of the most well done games ive seen in years
“Are you ready to go?”

“Everything.”
9:39 - 9:53
Looks like killing Vincent did not make Leo happy.
That's the meaning of the TV Trope, Vengeance Feels Empty.
I think it did make him happy to a certain extent, but not for reasons you'd think. He's glad he's back with his family, and happy that two potential enemies are gone from the world, but it's obvious he regrets not simply escaping rather than confronting and killing Vincent. After delivering the letter to Carol, Leo is remorseful that he took away a husband and father when Carol and Julie needed him most, and if he could do it again he would let Vincent live if only so he could be there for his wife and daughter while Leo took his family somewhere safe.
yeah but being the one who played as Leo, it sure as hell made me happy.
@@mrreyes5004 and especially considering Leo *was* trying to escape, and even disarmed Vincent before Vincent attacked him. killing him was the only way out.
The way Vincents screen fades to black is beautiful, very well done. Great game.

I fucking love this game.
you think all these people not wearing Mask Fuck that!
We Need to Wearing Mask for Safety.
My brother and I played this, he watched about half a play through of it and he picked Leo and I was Vincent..... We got the other ending. For both of these I feel like I had my heartstrings yanked out and played like a banjo
Did he cry when I foamed at the mouth yeetserday -Apple-
This is the best ending
Yeah.
It feels more right rather than Vincent ending!
Doesn’t matter who betrayed who, a way out means, only one will live, that two faced snake and that criminal had a relationship but it ended, don’t hate Vincent, he made Leo the man he is today.
So when a cop goes undercover, he's a "two faced snake"? Cold
In a way he is
WOW I nver thought about it like that. if I were to step on a bag of dogshit and stay with me here.
@@Dustaroo what is bro even saying 💀
WOW. Deep.
Ik it’s a co-op game but Leo is without a doubt the main character, and I felt that throughout the whole game. This is coming from someone who played Vincent throughout the game and ended up killing Leo. Just didn’t feel right even if I was playing him.
bruh no way did I go a whole year without knowing there were multiple endings to this game
Even though I dislike both endings, I think this one is better. Leo finally gets a chance to be a better father. Not that Vincent didn't deserve the same, but at some point I felt like he was a traitor all along.
This is the true ending.
coolguy7996 no
@coolguy7996 no
Yup
Yes
Imagine using vincent
Both endings were sad
There is no better one
Leo got back with his family but they still have to run away
But because he killed Vincent, Carol’s family will never be whole again and her daughter will never have a dad
Vincent finally can join his wife and become a dad and a good husband, he vows to never leave them again
But Leo’s death has caused Linda to lose his husband and become alone with her son again
Just which ending is worse
Honestly...
moltlom Leo was a criminal... lol
Tấn Đức Đặng "dont really get the hate"
"Was a cop"
Pick one
Vincent's end seems like the slightly better of the two, but I feel like in that scenario, Alex will grow up seeking revenge for his father's death, whereas Julie would be too young to even consider such a thing.
I love how when vincent gives leo his letter his subtitles are only and only on leo's side so the player and leo remember
Jesus.. I finished this a few days ago with a friend and Leo's was soooo much sadder than Vincent's. . I had one of the moments when you try catching your breath while crying.. Yeahh. A game has never made me cry so hard
hey guys combat jay here will like to tell to i got cloud amiibo my mom and i ahead to a metro town my mom ask me to go EB games and i was buy steam gift card and then i got Cloud amiibo
fu*k who is cutting onions😭
I want a happy ending but that wouldn't be necessary. Because if there was a happy ending these endings won't give as much as an impact as it did
3:59. The fucking music gets me everytime.
They went through hell together and survived. The only thing that could kill one of them, was the other.
Me and my mate were so shocked when they made the sort of truce at the end. It touched my heart really hard, I wasn’t expecting it, plus the music makes it a whole lot sadder. We were also shocked when Vincent betrayed. Man I love this game
As Leo I fcking destroyed my key to reach the gun. And I'm glad I did, this is the best ending
also I wanted my revenge for the connect 4 I lost
That's the good ending
Japanese shibe Yes, this is the good ending. Let me explain:
Leo has been imprisoned for almost all of his life after being betrayed, he found a person that was willing to help him to get out if the facility so Leo can finally meet his loved family. After Leo killing the man that Betrayed him (Harvey)
He is once again betrayed by Vincent, Vincent dies.
VideoGameFreak what makes you think Vincent didn’t love his family?
Not that it's a bad thing, proves that the younger ones enjoy good stuff too
I feel like them killing each other was pointless. They could have easily just when their separate ways.
But then it wouldn't be as sad and emotional.
Played this with my friend with no idea of how it was going to end. Once we got there, it was so sad watching these two strangers turned brothers have to kill each other.
I like both ending and they both made me cry
and me. I waddled and waped and even danderd
Man, both ending are sad! Ugh.

We thought we beat the game on the plane, so my friend went to go take a shit while all the fucking bombshells were dropping lmao. He didn't believe me when I said he was a nark lmao
I played this game with my sister and we cried... pretty much at this end... and.... i loved this game❤😭
Ngl Leo's death was more heartbreaking cuz atleast Vincent funeral he got some attention.. but in Leo's death noone showed up expect his wife and his son
Because Leo is a shtty a person and a criminal.
It almost feels like this was the intended ending with the Extra Complexity Involved in the Scene.
Leos ending is better but both are sad 😥
The tears started coming when i felt the heartbeat in the controller
I don't wanna spoil the moment but it's raining pretty hard and Vincent had to swim out of a sunken vehicle like fifteen minutes ago, that letter is Ruined.
There are a lot of reasons why this ending is better, but the main one is that leo got a beard so he no longer has those atrocious sideburns just there
smh Carol didn't even dress the baby for the funeral...
you think that's a priority after losing her husband ?
@@Welsen971 r/whooosh
Vincent dies and still have all the honor from the police department as a hero. even the daughter one day will know him as a hero instead of a traitor
while leo dies with no one's honoring him, just his family and forever he'll be known as a criminal than a hero
i feel like this ending is 10x more satisfying
I'm actually so sad this is like the only game that had moved me
Just finished playing this game with my husband (I was Leo, he was Vincent), and I’m still pissed he was a cop the whole time. AND he just barely beat me at the end. Gutted. 10/10 game.
I wish there were more games like this
Leo and Vincent were a great couple.
Couple of cards.
i don't know why but i find this ending a lot more sad than Vincent's ending
true ending is leo just see the story when he meet and ending you will know that
I wish there was a third ending where they both live and are friends forever
confront those feelings don't run to the happy ending XD but i can see where your coming from.
This is the better ending
The other ending sucked
who try hard on vincent to win. its a fucking snitch
Big facts 💯
Japanese shibe because it sucked! It was so sad! It was like the bad ending, where the young kid and the hopeful wife lost their husband/father right after he went through the trials of escaping the jail during the entire game. The entire point of the Game was worthless almost with that ending
nah the other ending was better. leo and his wife were scumbags who robbed innocent people and vincent was the good guy cop.
Damn I wish Danny and Arin got this ending
I wish it didn't have to end with one of them dying, IRL there definitely would've been another way. But it is a really powerful and affecting ending and I am currently crying after watching both versions.
WHY so you could have a bake sale with them yeah right get over mr. Tajmahall!
Respect for the creaters of this game👐
This game was about my life ... 10/10 great game thanks
I saw the game grumps get the Vincent ending, which made me cry. So I came to see the leo ending, just so I'd know it. I wasn't expecting to cry to this one cause I already saw the other but god, I lost it at the love letter. This was a good game.
music did everything
They would both be alive if Leo didn't have a temper tantrum every 5 minutes
I finished this game with a cousin. From the start we guessed Vincent was a cop.
But the twist in the end was so clichee and bad that my cousin didn't even bother to stop or attack me.
His exact words were "Dude my character is a fucking douchebag. Leo doesn't deserve this shit I feel bad for him." and "I'm not shooting. I'll stand still and you headshot me." Also when Vincent asked Leo to give the letter to his wife he said "Don't fucking dare pick up that letter, that cun't doesn't deserve it."
The best ending hand down
When i remembered that this was made by the same guys that made Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, I tried so hard to mentally prepare myself for the ending. But this...I was not prepared for...so just like I did with Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, I cried like a baby TvT
Michael and Gavin had the Cannon ending but i appreciate you posting the non cannon ending for those who were curious.
TheJazzhands what’s the canon ending?
What? You mean the Vincent ending? Neither ending is canon, but if there was a canon ending, then it would be Leo’s.
Just looked it up. I saw the fandom wikia for both characters and I think that Leo getting killed is actually canon. My mistake.

I’d rather this ending. Honestly. To get betrayed by someone you really trust. Must be scarring. I still can’t believe either one dies.
