The best part about waiting for games to go on sale (besides the price) is typically by that point the games have been updated, patched, bugs have been fixed and there's been upgrades, tweaks and sometimes even full DLC expansions thrown in. I never pre order and very rarely play day 1 at full price. I don't have any fomo for video games. Typically I wait between 6-12 months or more before buying any game.
With the backlog of games I have, I don't worry about getting new games too often and when I do, they're usually 60% off or more by the time I buy them. I've gotten 14 of the games on this list for free over the past year or two on EGS and Prime Gaming.
Don't forget mods. By the time the average game goes on sale, it's also had plenty of time to get whatever mods it'll probably ever have. Which is great for those games that are mostly good but have one annoying, easily fixed problem like overly limited inventory capacity or the like. Even if most games don't get significant or any mod support at all, very minor QoL mods like the inventory thing tend to get figured out eventually regardless, and have improved so many games for me. And those aren't exactly made on launch day.
I played it on the 360 when it was for "free" with XBL Gold back then, a game I fondly remember and where I don't get why it never got a follow up. I even played through it in one go - which at that time already was rare for me as I usually forget to continue games. But now reading it... I'll just have to add it to my wishlist to get it again (and then download a "backup" copy because sadly the publisher still don't allow my region to get the uncut version despite censorship in games being a thing of at this point long past in my country).
I got The Witcher 3 Complete Edition for $10 and Fallout 3 GOTY Edition for $6 on GOG, spent countless hours on them. The platform has some of the most ridiculous deals.
Dredge is legitimately one of those games where you go in blind thinking its not really your style but everyone keeps suggesting it, and the next thing you know it's 6 am and the birds are chirping because you just accidentally pulled an all nighter glued to your screen trying to catch eldritch abominations while running from your own encroaching insanity.
$1.70 for Dredge is an incredible steal. I played it on PS+ and wasn’t really thinking it was going to be much I was just bored but genuinely enjoyed it after about 10 minutes. Can’t wait for more of it.
I remember playing the first Arkham game a few years after it came out on 360 and absolutely loved it. I picked up that trilogy on steam and played through the first game again and maaaaaaaaaan, it's wild how well it holds up. That's definitely one of those absolute gems for someone who hasn't played those games yet.
I've got some insane thalassophobia. Can't look at pictures or videos of the ocean or lakes or sometimes even just a picture of fucking fish. But I tried this game because of the eldritch horror elements and because I want to overcome my thalassophobia. Not the best game to do it, probably, but I forced myself through it and I did enjoy it. It was probably much more of a horror game for me than for others, but still good. At least you didn't go _in or under_ the water. That's what made it bearable for me.

The last time I paid full price for a game (on day one, as well), was in 2015 with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but I'm afraid it's been nine years.
A few corrections: • Resident Evil Village is a first-person *and* a third-person game. • All of these sales can be found on Xbox and PlayStation on the Xbox storefront, PlayStation storefront, CDKeys storefront, and Eneba storefronts. (And maybe a few others as well.)
@@onesowngrief Precisely. I actually skipped that game myself because of the first-person viewpoint. Of course, when they added third-person back to the game, I ended up picking it up. Really wish they would add third-person back to Resident Evil 7 as well. But, oh well.

Guardians of the Galaxy was awesome! Had so much fun playing it. I need M0AR tho
The best!
@@gameranxTV Got it when it first came out on PS Plus...lemme check...Yep it's still on PS Plus XD
Guardians was an AMAZING game! Just PLAY IT ALREADY!
9:03 I feel attacked.
Dredge didn't get as much goty love, but it IS GOATY. So playable and enjoyably at that. Great pick, especially if you can pick it up cheap. The two DLCs are worth it too.
Thanks for the list gameranx. Y'all should do this more often.
Falcon is the most serious, straight to the point, done with his job critic I have ever seen..........
I was hesitant about Hogwarts. Gotta say if you grew up watching Harry Potter and playing Spyro the dragon this is the game you wanted as a kid. Id wait for a sale but I wouldn't of been upset if I bought it when it came out
Loved Inscription, highly recommend that game
I just bought a PS4 Pro and I have been going through the ENTIRE catalogue of what's used/on sale. I got tired of hearing about Bloodborne, so I bought it. Hear that Sony? I dropped a chunk of change on all your old games and you could have just sold me a PC port.
@UnderwaterOwlGod *Steeples fingers*.
@@AeroZephron acting like Sony is the developer. Illiteracy at its finest.
And btw consoles do have deals with companies which is why they get certain games that PC don’t.
Im so happy you mentioned GoTG
Gameranx... Y'all... For the love of our eyes: can the countdown cards please be put into dark mode like the rest of the video? Games have gotten super dark, which means the vid captures are dark... even the website showing the prices in this video is dark. Then the next number comes up and assaults my eyes.
Probably on purpose so it's easy to see when a new segment starts. Lotta folk like me watch this on a 2nd monitor. Probably helps with viewer retention too and stuff.
Glad to see marvel Midnight suns being mentioned. I played it earlier this year and enjoyed it a lot. Truly an underrated game.
"If the pizza is on him, I guess the joke's on me 🤣🥠🎂🥳"
Ghostwire Tokyo is FREE right now on the Epic games store, until Nov. 7.
0:43 Shoutout to Isthereanydeal, Falcon!
Excellent video, guys! More content like this please!
Really appreciate the practical advice
I just got red dead two online AND story TOGETHER for $30…. It’s definitely worth being on the list
You got robbed.
where?
@UnderwaterOwlGod story mode on its own was $60 so $30 for it was better
@@TristanBrooker You don't need to buy Red Dead Online if you buy Red Dead Redemption 2 (Storymode Version). As the Storymode version also includes online. And it is regularely on sale for $19.79 on Steam.
@@Pizzerinoo I’m on ps5
4:07 I got this for my son based on the last money saving video. He loves it.❤
10:58 its got a Big Woman. Who cares about upgrades?
The only time I buy games full stop is if they are at least 50% off! I never miss out because I am busy playing my back catalogue 👍🏻
Dredge was my favorite indie game since Limbo and Inside. Really hope to see more from that studio. Also, because I owned dredge bought Dave the Diver for around 10 bucks. Both are absolute gems.
Of these, I have Sniper Elite 5, Blasphemous 2, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Gravity Circuit, Doom Eternal, and Severed Steel, and I purchased every one of those at a deep discount. Discounts and demos are what convinces me to buy games, especially those outside my usual comfort zone. The last time I paid full price for a game (on day one, as well), was in 2015 with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but I'm afraid it's been nine years.
Dead Space remake is free on PS plus right now
Dead island 2 also
The ideas for videos that you come up with are top notch.
Only Nintendo games stay at full price. If you get $5-$10 off a Nintendo game, it’s a deal… but so many games come on great sales
Ender Lilies is very good too. i like it
A few corrections:
• Resident Evil Village is a first-person *and* a third-person game.
• All of these sales can be found on Xbox and PlayStation on the Xbox storefront, PlayStation storefront, CDKeys storefront, and Eneba storefronts. (And maybe a few others as well.)
Did you mean trashbox 😂
This. Shouldn't ignore the fact that was added to the game for anyone who is planning to buy the title now.
@@onesowngrief
Precisely.
I actually skipped that game myself because of the first-person viewpoint. Of course, when they added third-person back to the game, I ended up picking it up.
Really wish they would add third-person back to Resident Evil 7 as well. But, oh well.
Guardians of the Galaxy was free on Epic just FYI, great game. So was Ghostwire Tokyo lol, and Marvel's Midnight Suns. I believe Inscyption was too but not positive on that one
Got Marvel's Midnight Suns for free on Epic a few months back! Ended up paying (I think around 30 bucks) for the DLC characters, but it was worth it!
Very smart video to release as I’m looking at the sale of these games
Used to wait for game prices to drop and thats when I buy the game I want
Yay warhammer 40k darktide is finally mentioned here! It’s so good! And the music is so well done, super pumps you up on the missions
2:41 Bruv thats my gamer tag tf🤣
About9dollarsand24cents?
@@jordon4194 nah, fanatical brev
I got both marvel games and ghostwire tokyo for FREE, along with Ghost Runner 1 (in the video it's the 2nd). About 70% of my game collection is games I got for free (paid and F2P)
The title should mention that the discounts you mention in the video are for games on PC
Guardians of the Galaxy is a great game. Sucks so hard that it didn't do well enough to get a sequel. Ghostrunner 2 is great as well and they just added a new unending bike mode that's fun as hell.
hell yeah uploaded 31 seconds ago
Im so happy you mentioned ghostrunner 2
