I have 3 of these 2000PG, F Custom, and 4000PG. I've tried many other jigging reels like Maxel, JM, and Accurates but I always come back to the Ocea Jiggers. They're super smooth and fun to use.

@@sab35263 definitely PG for speed jigging as the jig will stay in the strike zone longer and less tiring on the body. For SPJ, you'd need approx 39" per crank for techniques such as 1/4 pitch, however, if you're doing high pitch jerks or long fall (like most people) whatever is fine.

The Ocea is hands down an excellent reel. Might very well be best in class. But the Torium is a pretty good reel for anyone on a tighter budget. However, the stock handle on the HG is not that great. Upgrade the handle and you can stay well below the price of an Ocea.

i have bought Accurate and it failed on first bite, the reel could not take 20kg halibut out of 80m of water. was very disapointed and looking for replacement. your video helped to make a final decision, thanks
HG vs PG - I understand the differences in wind ratios and torque in both reels. But how do you decide when you want to use a reel with high ratio / retrieve and lower torque vs a reel with lower retrieve ratio and higher torque in the 2000 Ocea jigger range? Cameron

To be fair. The Ocea is better than anything Daiwa makes. And now Daiwa reels cost the same if not more than Shimano. For that much money, I would just go with Shimano.
@@kenth6140 higher drag on a SPJ reel dosen't mean better. Once you pass a certain amount of drag it's just wasted because your line will break. Fishing with such thin line will cause that effect.

I hear you want the slower not the HG for jogging. You need about 36” - 42” only for jigging.

Torium is more comparable to the Trinidad not the Ocea
@@bucac1213 True, but still pretty expensive when compared to the Torium. The Torium will do about 95% what you can do with the Ocea.

Just got an ocea jigger 1001hg and an f custom 1501hg and I love them..... went thru seiglers, maxel, daiwas. Totally changed the way the rods feel!
Been using that reel since 2017, yep the best spj reel for me so far

I recently landed a 60 lb Giant trevally in Sri Lanka on this reel and it did not fail was so glad I was using this reel and not a spinning.
2000 or 4000 version ?Thinking the 2000 just not sure 20lbs (10kg) drag is enuf, whats ur experience
