Such a good band, Scot!!! All the songs I've heard I love them. Who cares if the music is dated??!! I'm impressed with the quality of the music . Who said it is easy to make music from other decades??!!! If it was easy there would be thousand of bands just like the Beatles and in truth there is none!!!
Thanks to RUclipsrs like you, getting up to speed with these guys; great band! I had the most recent release, the other four showed up yesterday from Karisma. Will listen to your top 2 later today, looking forward to more of the Norwegian winter day vibe! Suggestions; have you done Lunatic Soul, the Riverside side project? Great stuff. Also, I am enjoying the Anathema discography; the more recent recordings. Apparently they were more metal early in their career, which is not my thing. By the way, I meant to mention that I saw Terry Luttrell (from Starcastle) perform with the original REO at a small club in Indianapolis in 1971 about the time their first album came out. I was sitting on the floor about 10 feet from the band and they were PHENOMENAL. I went out the next day and bought the record. It is still my favorite REO record and, though I like Kevin Cronin, I wish that original line-up and stayed together longer. Keep up the great work, always look forward to your videos.
Lunatic Soul and Riverside. You’re speaking my language!!! That first REO album isn’t half bad. Too bad he got fired. Oh well, we got Starcastle out of the deal!!!
On 8th of March 2022 I visited the Seconds Out concert in the Netherlands from Steve Hackett after 2 years without concerts. A great show with Supper's Ready as the highlight of the show. Nice show about Wobbler. I have all 5 albums.
Scot..I just picked up Hinterland on CD and was blown away by my first listen to Wobbler..If this is your number five, the others must be incredible..I am off to Amazon..talk to you later❤❤❤❤❤glen
Great vid!🤘 They’re certainly my favorite prog band of the 21st schizoid century. I’d go same line-up except our ‘Rites At Dawn’ in the no. 2 spot…. Upon first listen back in 2017 I didn’t appreciate ‘Silence to Somewhere’……now, because of that title track, it’s most certainly their Magnum Opus! Keep churning out the goods Scott! Appreciate you🙏 ✌️❤️🤘 Enter my CONTEST! Would love to see your ‘Desert Island 4’!!!!
Marius, the guitarist of Wobbler, recently announced on Reddit, that they will be hitting the studio in the new year and a new album will probably be released before 2024 is over!!! YEEEEES
I like the vinyl opening technique! That’s a new one for me. I’m just starting to check these guys out. I’m likin it. The Nordic prog bands are all excellent. Maybe it’s the weather. Nothing else to do but practice your instrument and write epic tunes…
PS Pretty pretty Wobbler vinyl. And seeing your vinyl Please Don't Touch over your shoulder reminds me some b*stard has failed to return mine after borrowing it aeons ago...
Afterglow... we got Genesis and Wobbler in the same video and a live chat with the Canadian Studmuffin and the Prog Corner in the same day! This will be great!
Was just listening to some of my Wobbler tracks today. Absolutely agree with your top three, I think that From Silence to Somewhere is without doubt their best work. Now where did the music industry go wrong? I see from many of the comments below that people had so little exposure to the band in the UK. In terms of prog that is almost criminal, they are outstanding good.
Hi, there. Dwellers of the deep is my favourite, BUT, I agree with everything you said. Can't go wrong with this band, for sure. If you like prog, you have to love this one. Thanks for the video!!!
Scot, I know this video was posted a long time ago but I searched it out on your channel to send you a specific and relavent thank you. I never know how some PROG bands I know everything they ever do and some I just miss completely. I had missed Wobbler. Since you sparked my interest I first ordered one CD then the rest and then just had to order the vinyl too. Thank you for the direction. I just saw your video announcing Tusmorke, Ritual and Meer. I know nothing about any of them but I think I will dive in. It seems like you have tapped a well for me. Why not? I get free flyer miles too! [That's what I tell myself anyway].
@@TheProgCorner You are absolutely correct. So many bands making good stuff, Kaipa, The Tangent, The Flower Kings, Big Big Train, Peter Gabriel [Its been so long it counts as new for a long time!], Steve Hackett, Riverside, Airbag to just name a few!
Just starting to listen to this band this week, thank you Scott for introducing me ! Where do you purchase your new prog vinyl from usually ? Must pay a pretty price and even more so for me up here in Ontario 🥴
Hi Scott. Darn! My vinyl copy of Dweller has just arrived. Basic lightweight clear vinyl (no amazing volcanic effect like yours). Plus no plastic inner lining either. Not so bad one could think; except it was 35 euros! Keep safe. DC
My box set of the 3 rereleases is finally in the mail after delays, and I cannot wait. Love Wobbler. I see you have some other quality Norwegian prog with Jordsjø in the background as well. I am looking forward their next one "Salighet" (Bliss)
Huge Norwegian Prog fan!!! Caligonaut, Meer, Jorsjo, Tusmorke, Motorpsycho, Wobbler, Airbag, Gazpacho, etc. Who has a new album coming out? Jordsjo or Wobbler?
@@TheProgCorner Jordsjø is scheduled to go to studio after Easter to record their next one. Jordsjø's close relative Elds Mark is due out with a new one March or April.
Hey Scott. Sorry; I forgot to ask you... Are you familiar with Gazpacho (also from Oslo) and with No-Sound (Italy/UK) and Giancarlo Erra in general? I think you might like them both.. All the best And keep up the great work on this great channel you've got going and growing!
Nailed it, btw their so called new vocalist have been working for 20 years on a triple LP, go to soundcloud and search : Twilight Fields 12" - The Chronicles of Father Robin
Scott
Love the energy and love your love for prog. Love Wobbler. man. It's like finding lost Yes, Genesis albums.
So good, right??? 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴

When Hinterland is number five... you're on to something good!
I purchased Hinterland when it first came out...Love at first listen.
What a band!!! I love them too much.

All five are amazing!!! They go from that Änglagård sound to a more Yes-like thing. So great!!!
Its thanks to you i even know about Wobbler. Real old-school prog with feeling! 😄
I love it!!!!
Thanks Scot.
Do you have a video review of Dwellers in the Deep in your archives?
I do not!!! What an album!!!!

"21st schizoid century" that's clever 😂

Oh yeah!!!!! I’m ready!!!
Recent I just discover this band, its awesome band...
Love love love Wobbler!!!
Agree completely, Scot. With the reissues I finally got a copy of Afterglow just today to listen to later! I've had all the others for a while now.
I love all five!!! They are one of my favorite bands. For sure!!!
I like the vinyl opening technique! That’s a new one for me. I’m just starting to check these guys out. I’m likin it. The Nordic prog bands are all excellent. Maybe it’s the weather. Nothing else to do but practice your instrument and write epic tunes…
That’s definitely part of it: the cold!!! But I also think those Nordic countries look to subsidize the arts and the artist.
Love the band, been into them from the get go, got them all. Personally, I think each album as got a little better each time so far. 👍👌
Such an amazing band. It’s time for a new Wobbler album!!! (There’s no new Wobbler album on the horizon…damn it.)
Love Wobbler tons! Very cool colored vinyl you got there my friend :D
Big fan here!!!
PS Pretty pretty Wobbler vinyl.
And seeing your vinyl Please Don't Touch over your shoulder reminds me some b*stard has failed to return mine after borrowing it aeons ago...
Not cool. The death penalty seems appropriate.
Afterglow... we got Genesis and Wobbler in the same video and a live chat with the Canadian Studmuffin and the Prog Corner in the same day! This will be great!
And we also have Thin Lizzy... 4:53.
And the Grateful Dead? 5:41
Okay! I grew up with vinyl in the '60s and '70s (man!) and I have never seen ANYONE open a record like that! Thanks for introducing me to Wobbler!

Karisma Records has a US store!!! I also order from Burning Shed (UK) and Lasers Edge (US.) it definitely gets expensive!!!
Great video and great band. I only own the last two. I can't find their first three (in a reasonable price)
You might have more luck now with the reissues!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Vinyl is ridiculously priced these days!!! Why do we do this to ourselves???
I need to check these guys out. Great shirt, btw, my home town
Nice!!! I’m just up the road in Bellefontaine.
@@TheProgCorner yep, moved to the Cincinnati area many years ago but still have friends and family up Dayton way.
Nice one Scott. Thanks!
Never saw that trick for opening sealed records! Wish I'd known that back in the day. Do you have any good tricks for unwrapping CDs? Seriously.
I’m a vinyl guy so I don’t have any suggestions there!!! Back in the 80s I worked in a record store so I learned that trick with vinyl!!!

Hey Scott
What's a good entry point album for someone new to wobbler?
I would say start with the new one, Dwellers Of The Deep!!! If you like it, keep going backwards!!! (You’ll love them!!!)
I'd say Rites at Dawn works as a perfect introduction.
For sure. Any of the last three would work!!!
Time for a Gong / Steve Hillage / Tim Blake / Daevid Allen / Pierre Moerlen Special !!!?
I love Gong!!! The rabbit hole is deep.
A great album is even nicer in a pretty colour!
That’s what I think!!!
They make great records but they are a brilliant live band - one of the best I have seen.
I’ve watched some RUclips videos and yeah: OMG!!!
I can confirm that. Being from Norway, I have had the opportunity to see them quite frequently.
Those look great! I need them! 😁
I was priced out of the originals!!! So this will more than do!!!
@@TheProgCorner Yes, I'm glad I didn't - I've got the last two on CD, but really wanted the early ones - Afterglow might be with me tomorrow
I almost bought the first three a couple years ago but the price talked me out of it. Now I’m a happy man!!!
Scott where did you get the vinyl.
Karisma has a US shop now!!!
thanks Scott

Hey, Dale. Big fan of Gazpacho!!! I need to spend some time with No-Sound. Afterthoughts is the only thing I’ve heard. So far!!!!
So next it's Jordso? If u find first two :D
I have the double vinyl that includes both (plus their half of the Songs From The Northern Lights cassette.)
Anyone remember Toy Matinee?
Kevin Gilbert!!!
Has wobbler ever toured the United States?
They almost did once but there were visa issues…if I recall correctly.
