Love your bird feeder, I’m going to make plans to use cedar fence boards, a lot cheaper, roof needs to extend farther out to keep rain out of seed tray. It rains a lot here on the Olympic peninsula. Lol
Thank you so much for making this video. This will be mine and my 13-year-old son‘s first birdhouse. Your video was perfect! My son plans on giving the birdfeeder away to a family member for Christmas
great work, this turned out beautiful. i made a bird feeder a few months ago but i made a mistake measuring the roof and now the bottom fills up with rain water. 😅 so, maybe i'll give yours a try, thanks for sharing buddy! 😀✌
There could be some water leak at the seam. This could be quickly fixed with a tarp/shingle/etc tacked into place that could be removed when filling. The birds would empty this feeder so quickly that the seed getting wet never really crossed my mind
@@mmcc_woodshop6288 So that means the parts are actually smaller then your dimension - correct? For example when you show the base 12" x 18 it is actually 11 1/4" x 18". Did you take this into the dimensions you show in the video? Please advise
I have lost count of how many bird feeders i have on my windows, sherpherd hooks tree and I just bought a ground feeder from Amazon.@@mmcc_woodshop6288

Awesome, sounds like a cool modification! Thanks for the feedback and good luck with your build!

Awesome man! This would make a great Christmas gift... thanks for your feedback and good luck with the build!
Very nice! Good variety of birds in your yard too!
Thanks! And yeah! Filming all of them was a blast for this one!
Always good to feed the birdies
Good job on the feeder.
Thanks J Fred! Figured they could use a feeder with all the snow and ice recently!
Thats a really great birdhouse, i like the design and how accessible you make it look to make
Thank you! The birds loved it for sure!
Loved this build, seems to be working out for the birds
Thanks buddy! They were definitely a fan haha
Great work!
Thanks Robert!
That's a nice job but you must have doubled the weight of the bird feeder with all those brad nails 😉
😂😂 extra stability!
Did it leak water in your roof?
No, if water leak was an issue though the top seam could just be covered by a scrap shingle, sheet metal, etc 👍🏻
How deep is the dado and how far in from edge of the wood is it?
please advise
Are you referring to groves cut at ~1:55? They’re ~3/8” deep and ~3/8” inward from the edge of the board.
Thank you good video. Cut out the saw sound or turn way down.
Thanks for the feedback Nick, I’ve adjusted the volume much more in my more recent videos 👍🏻

Thanks buddy! And nice! I'll check that video out!
Will/does the roof leak at the seam? (Where it’s hinged)
Love the video and design:)

good job
Thanks!
The wood size 1 x 12 is that nominal or actual?
A 1x12” true size is typically 0.75” x 11.25”

Perfect!
Thanks!
Nice job. Did you treat it?
Thanks! I didn't, from what I understand cedar is weather resistant so I figured it would be okay as is.
This is not a birdhouse folks. Irs a feeder.
Correct. As stated in the title 👍🏻
Nice idea. I've got a new project.
Thanks Kieran! Good luck with your build!
Nice work, but most people don’t have any of the tools you have! Therefore, making one is almost impossible!
Thanks for watching and the feedback!
If you wer my neighbor I would ask you to make me one.
You might be able to talk one of your neighbors into making one for you!
