They needed to make the frame with a way to roll the fabric to keep the fabric taught. That frame doesn't have a way to keep the quilt tight while embroidering.
The clamps and clips are designed to help keep your quilt in place. When you're quilting, you don't want your sandwich to be so tight you could play it like a drum - just taught enough to keep tension. The new Grace Cutie Breeze has some great improvements though - we can't wait until they come in so we can show you!
