    Been welding for a lot of years...50 plus, so it's getting time to retire. Great to know there are folks out there with the passion to keep the trade alive. Loved the video. I still can't pronounce that young man's name, but he's a joy to watch.

    That was a great video! The best statement I heard was that you all are Top Tier Welders with different styles and methods, but getting the work done at the highest level and quality. I've been a welder longer then all of you except Bob have been alive, and I'm proud to say I learn from everyone of y'alls videos. I'm not afraid to learn from young pups. I wish we had more pups like you in our industry to carry on the metalworking industry as a whole. Goodonya!

      I’ve learned a lot from watching others. You don’t know what you don’t know. If you don’t watch someone else do something you want to do, and no one is there to teach you, how will you know what to practice? Likewise I’ve learned a lot of what not to do by watching others and have avoided making a lot of the same mistakes.

    • @rolltide2937
      @rolltide2937 5 лет назад +1

      Sheraz Mughal it’s a American pipeline procedure it’s out dated but we still use this method in the US to weld gas & oil transmission lines throughout the United States it’s fast and cost effective and the code is very lenient toward defeats.... very few schools teach this but a few here in the states still do it’s a art to be able to make this weld look good and pass x-ray!!!!!!

      @@rolltide2937 plz share me welding rod number

    • @rolltide2937
      @rolltide2937 5 лет назад

      Sheraz Mughal it depends on the code but here in the states you can make this weld with the E6010 5p+ all the way out 3/32 gap and a 30 degree bevel with a very light landing on the face of the bevel we use the thickness of a small coin to get a good land about the thickness of a dime or Rupee in Pakistan. 1/8 or 5/32 Electrode for the root and hot pass and 5/32 or 3/16 electrode for the fill and cap all down hill progression !!!!! We use other rods also for the fill and cap but it all depends on the service of the pipe 7010 & 8010.....there are two different types of E6010 a red coated rod that’s used for iron are structural and the E6010 5P+ its a uphill or downhill rod for pipe ... the E6011 is a more common Electrode used outside the US because it’s a AC or DC Electrode not ideal for this procedure but if you have them they also can be used for practice but very difficult to make look good on AC but it can be done!!!!!!!!! If you look around RUclips you may find someone giving a proper demonstration on how this downhill procedure is done Hope that helps !!!!!!! Sorry but all I know is inches we don’t use the metric system here much!!!!!!!!!
