Today we are installing a TMI Headliner fitting all 1965, 1966, 1967 or 1968 Fastback Mustangs. We will be installing it on a 1968 GT Fastback. Installing a headliner on a coupe or fastback is a very delicate progress, we have received a number of requests for a video on how to install one. This is a very involved installation and we would not recommend it for a first time installer, however, should you choose to attempt installing one on your Mustang, this video gives you the basic steps for your installation.
TMI's Headliner is a premium quality vinyl that looks just like the factory original. These headliners are available in all factory correct colors to match any interior.
Again, in this video we are showing you the basics for installation. Installing a new headliner does take a little time and lot of patience, we hope you find this video helpful to install your headliner.

Just recently talked with an older gentleman who worked the assembly line at Ford doing just this, installing headliners. I asked how fast could he do a headliner. He said…3 minutes! Although he did say it was prepped for him. I asked “did you have a helper?” No he replied, just get out of the car and walk up 8 cars and get in the next one!
Thanks man for these videos! This is great, I only wish I has seen this prior to my headliner install a couple years ago. I now know why my wind shield is leaking. That one piece from TMI is tempting but you can not beat the look of the original.
I’ll be doing this project very soon, my modified 65’ needs new front glass so I might as well replace the torn headliner while I’m there.
Thanks CJ Pony for the parts and thanks Bill for the instructional video. Great job guys!!
you all probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account??
I was stupid forgot my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Yehuda Jacob instablaster =)
@Dustin Edward i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Dustin Edward It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass!
@Yehuda Jacob no problem :D
Congratulations for the vídeo guy. From Brazil!!!Nice...
Use a little soapy water when you are putting weather stripping on the glass.
Very interesting video!!!
for those who have always wondered how this is a interesting video!
Holy moly ! I will pay somebody
Thank you...
If 'You'll be back on the road in no time" Bill tells you that this is harder than it looks and you're gonna need a helper, you betcha ass it's hard!!
Man that was hard, I'll just take it too a glass guy
I changed mine without removing any windows.
Thanks for the video.
What are the 3 braces for in the rear window? The aprox 3" brackets going inwards in the cabin, are they not in use when installing the headliner?
Thanks and greetings from Denmark
TMI is right...this is getting hired out :)
you should be earning that a day !
What thickness of strip caulk did you use to go around the weather stripping for the install?
Hey Bill. I have a 1967 coupe I'm restoring but, I have no clue on how to restore the air-conditioning. Could you, if you have the time, please do a how-to video (installation) on how to restore your mustang's air-conditioning. Thanks!
That could be a tough one since there are a lot of variables there but I will keep it in mind. Most likely we would do a video on adding AC vs restoring an original though.
What color is the car?
working on a similar 68 FB Gt 390, what color is this car? Looks nice!
What color blue is that?
I can't thank you enough!! By the way, I thought of using a hot air blower or a steamer to straighten the wrinkled new headliner, but wouldn't this cause any damage like shrinkage or so? I don't know but I'll try.
celle ci de voiture est une des plus belle américaine
LED headlights please (maybe alternator recommendation too) 1966 coupe
Do a search, we just did LED headlights a couple weeks ago :)
How about a CD player in a classic Mustang
