    I used this video to install my front and rear glass on my 67 fastback. Did it will no help. First time by myself. Worked perfect!!!
    No leaks and turned out very clean.

      The video I do on the gasket set would have been more helpful.

    Why the 5504 when the U-418HV is supposedly a non primer install? Also, is a specific gun required or will a standard caulking gun work? Thank you, very helpful vid.

      @RS-gh2mf 3 года назад

      Even though the U-418 HV says it's primer less, it's still better to use the adhesive promoter. You need at least a 26: 1 ratio gun to pump this urethane. Michele and I have sold MTF last August, I won't be answering questions anymore.

    wow. Nice job. I need to install my 70 windshield. Do you have a material url we can use to purchase the sealer? And can you cut my V? Or will I need your V? Nice clean install. But...It its hard to believe that tape stuck to the paint that hard. Perhaps not the good stuff?

    • @RS-gh2mf

      Michele and I sold MTF last August, the new owner isn't carrying the urethane needed to do the install on the 69-70.

    I think this method is probably okay if you don't have a dash pad in already. Just did it this weekend and it got urethane all over the dash and left the bottom edge looking awful. If I did it again, I'd put the urethane on the car first like you had mentioned. Not sure if I want to redo it just yet, but not happy with the results. Just a heads up to anyone else that may attempt to do themselves, the bottom does NOT need as much urethane as the rest of the windshield as it will bulge out inconsistently across it. Would also recommend a powered caulking gun because that high viscosity is a PITA to get flowing!

      What you needed was a 26 to 1 ratio gun, it comes out like butter.

      @@RS-gh2mf I pulled it out and redid it, putting urethane on the car first. Worked flawlessly!

      Putting it on the glass will give you a perfect straight bead, can't get it as perfect doing it on the pinch weld.

      @@RS-gh2mf I’m not trying to argue, just wanted to give a different perspective as it worked just the opposite for me. When I put it on the windshield first, it was a disaster. When I did pinchweld first, it came out perfect.

    Always enjoy your videos mate. But it's funny how in most videos, things just seem to click in and fit. In reality, it's really a hard job as most of the repro clips are too hard to give the trim a chance to click itself in. You end up using rubber mallet and i certainly don't like doing that. What are your thoughts on that mate?
    Cheers.

      Michele and I sold MTF in August of 2020 and started a new company called Patriot Classic 4x4. We manufacture a lot of new parts for the 66-77 Bronco, similar to the over 400 parts we did for the 65-70 Mustangs. It's up to the new owner to answer all the questions now.

    So you don't need the 7 molding brackets that go along the bottom of cowl? I guess one tube is enough to do one windshield?

    • @RS-gh2mf
      @RS-gh2mf 2 года назад

      Of course you still need the bottom mounting brackets, how else would you expect to fasten the moulding.

    What's the part # on that windshield

    So what's the thickness of the urethane/V notch?

    • @RS-gh2mf
      @RS-gh2mf 2 года назад

      The urethane is a high viscosity which is very thick and will hold the windshield up. How far you cut the v- notch back will determine the height of the urethane.

    Interesting, can you use the same method on the rear glass?

    • @RS-gh2mf
      @RS-gh2mf 2 года назад +1

      On the rear glass a 69-70 uses a gasket, so no you can't set it in urethane. Michele and I sold MTF in August of 2020, we opened a new company called Patriot Classic 4x4 doing 66-77 Bronco's. Follow us on our Facebook page.

    What about preparing the surface where the windshield goes? that's what I want to see! you left out the most important part!

    • @MustangstoFear
      @MustangstoFear  4 года назад +2

      It just needs to be clean. You could wipe down with mineral spirits.
