Thank you Mr. Schenker and crew! keep on rockin, love the song. Cant wait to get the new album. been a fan since 78 when at a my local record store and heard the guy playing a UFO album! hooked ever since. :)
Scorpions are out with a new single called "We Built This House" and an album called "Return To Forever" and UFO will soon be out with an album called "Conspiracy of Stars". And Michael Schenker's Temple of Rock has this and the album "Spirit On A Mission". I am very glad these old men are still out there to rock us!
this song gets better the more times you listen to it, how could it not get better? it's the Maestro back @ it again, can't wait to hear more cutz from spirit on a mission.
It's a pleasure to see Hermann Rarebell with Francis Burchholz playing with Mickaël Schenker. I hope to ear one day a double album with MSG songs and Scorpions songs inside :-D
dieter schanzer Obsession is in my top 5 Greatest Records EVER. Hot n' Ready, also in my top 5 songs EVER. I am not arguing with you, please don't take it that way. Michael himself says in EVERY interview, that was his 1st stage. Finding himself, learning to express himself. I've seen him almost 80 times. He's my #1 guitar player EVER. I LOVE The Odd Trio. Listen to his opening and both lead breaks on the new song Live And Let Live. It is FUCKING CRAAAAAAZY!!! Reminds me of The Odd Trio. He is 61 now. He's given us so, so, so much. I am so thankful that he didn't die a few years back. He has had some very, very dark times. Every record is a gift. Every song, another piece of his story, his gift to us. I take them like that. Play I've Got The Fire from The Endless Jam records. He is FUCKING BLAZING, JUST ON FIRE. Who else plays so clean, so fluid, so CONNECTED. Indeed, The Spirit IS On A Mission. Rock on. Maybe I'll see you at The Whisky April 3rd. Or The Canyon, May 2nd...
I really like this middle solo. I do think his UFO solos were just incredible but this guy is always amazing with certain phrasings that just kill me. There are many great guitarists but, in my opinion, no one quite like Michael Schenker. Just saw Temple of Rock in Newton, NJ and it was absolutely phenomenal. Don't miss him on this short US tour!
Michael and the band sound great here. Has a real heavy vibe to it, which I really like. Can't wait for the US shows. Out of all the times I've seen Michael, I've never seen him at The Whisky. THAT is gonna be an epic show. I'm going to write to the label right now and try and make sure the CD is out here when they tour Last year it was a month after the band had played that the disc finally found its way into the US. Rock on Mad Axeman.
Schenker kicks off the first leg of his tour in SanJoseCa. @ the RockBar on March 25, 2015., This is a Mandatory attendance for all SouthBay fanz and fans from everywhere. Let's Rock this place to the ground, get your TICKETS.
Schenker played and wrote on 6 albums in the 70s, Walk on Water in 95 and another album in 2001or2. My favorite UFO albums are Obsession, Lights Out, Phenomenon and Walk on Water. Darker Days off Walk On Water is one of the best rock songs period. The riff, groove, melody, vocals, drums and guitar leads and the killer solo by Michael. He uses Wah, Overdrive/Boost, Chorus and Delay into 50 watt JCM800 Marshalls 4x12 and a Marshall DSL50 Dual Super Lead 50 watt combo. I saw him last year.
In March 2017 there will be a new Michael Schenker DVD/Blu-Ray/CD out. It will be called "Michael Schenker Fest Tokyo". A bit different than this "Temple of Rock". Check it out if you are interested in the eariler years of "MSG".
In march of 2018 "Michael Schenker Fest" (partly with Doogie White) will be out with a new album called "Resurrection". There is already a single out called "Warrior". Check it out!
He uses a line selector pedal too. He was using two 50 watt heads into one 4x12 cab and one DSL50 50watt 2x12 combo and he uses two delays. One going to each amp. One for echo to short delay and one for longer delay. His Wah and TubeScreamer went to all amps while his Chorus went through the effects loop of the DSL50. I dont care for chorus I use phaser and flanger though. Schenker is number one in my opinion. I have learned a lot from him. Into the Arena is among my favs and Vigilante Man.
Ufo rocks but that was the 70s buddy and plus Temple of Rock is a killer band, a super group. Ufo is great with Vinnie Moore too the new ufo album conspiracy of stars. Battle of the Left Hand Gun is great Vinnies solo and leads are amazing. Schenker is one of my biggest influences. Him, Gilmour, Iommi, Cantrell, Gibbons, Thayil, West, Page, G.Moore, Frusciante, Deleo, Tipton, Downing, Perry, McCready, Lynch, Knopfler, SRV, DeMartini, Blackmore, Young, and Clapton and Hendrix.
Great Rock Song with Real Pro Band : Michel Schenker / Herman Rarebell / Francis Buchholz / Doogie White on vocal / Wayne Findlay . What Else ? A new ALBUM : SPIRIT ON A MISSION §§§§§§ Bruno from Villefranche sur mer France, see you on TOUR 2015 §
Michael and Graham Bonnet really need to do one last album/tour together before age really sets in. No, they *really* do. Never in the history of music have we been poised to have two men pushing 70 and 75 and still kicking mortal ass, to make such potentially *epic* music. And you can duplicate Blackmore and Bonnet to that request too, of wants(if they can bury the hatchet from what happened *40+* years ago). Do it for the fans, guys.
Wow, Schenker has lost more than a step it would seem. Hard to watch him struggling like that, but that's why we have all of those awesome older tracks--in his prime he was in a class by himself. I think I'll go listen to Assault Attack again and wash this unfortunate experience from my memory...
Patrick, you're entitled to your opinion. I disagree with it though. Schenker has always played within himself and served the song, rather than shredding for the sake of it. I believe that Michael has always been capable of shredding but don't forget, his style is rooted in blues. Especially his later work. He's got nothing to prove to anyone. You may not like his playing here but it's cool to see him enjoying what he's doing (especially with old Scorpions friends in his band).
jimmiemclovin yeah! UFO too... the gibson v, even without the wha was far superior... i think those new albums are a waste of time, and shoul be great, only if he recorded the same way he did in glory days.
jimmiemclovin They are all classics, from 74 until 84. And as far as I am concerned, the first 5 studio albums, and Strangers In The Night have never been bettered.
Schenker's a HERO of mine BUT his solos are not to my liking these days...give me the Obsession/1978/79 Michael Schenker now he was absolutely ON FIRE and in a class of his own.....just listen to Obsession folks - awesome compared to this tosh...sorry..
I just saw Michael this past Sunday( April 12th 2015) and the leads he played on Live And Let Live and Vigilante Man from the new album were far from "tosh" They were absolutely brilliant.
dieter schanzer Obsession was the first UFO album I was turned onto in college. The tone of that guitar playing blew me away. "You Don't Fool Me" is still one of my favorite songs today. Today's Michael can still make that guitar cry, sing, and whatever else he feels like doing to it. He's happier and healthier than he's ever been and some new energy is coming out. Please, give it another listen...Please.
dieter schanzer I am glad you listened again. Schenker is a true legend....in my opinion just as or even more important the EVH. He was doing these long flowing leads nad fierce yet sensible rhythms before Eddie. And through ups and downs and personal turmoil, Schenker kept on playing. Can you imagine doing the SAME stuff over and over just to make fans happy? (Like EVH). I can't and I am glad Schenker pushes himself. Like Rush, he creates a different chapter in his playing. The same Schenker, yet different. I like it.
One of the true GREATS!
Thank you Mr. Schenker and crew! keep on rockin, love the song. Cant wait to get the new album. been a fan since 78 when at a my local record store and heard the guy playing a UFO album! hooked ever since. :)
All hail Schenker! Makes me so happy to see Herman and Francis backing him up. A Schenker should always have a Rarebell behind him!
De acuerdo!
Love this
Great to see Schenker, beeing fit and making new music,he just turned 60 & can still play better then most young rock guitarists,respect!\m/
You also look like a old man, I'm only 24 old Dude
Master of the Rock Melody! Schenker has such a distinct melodic style. \m/
him and Robin Trower, crazy sounds
WOW! BLOWN AWAYYYY!!! THEY MAKE ME FEEL 20 YEARS OLD AGAIN! LOVE IT. HAPPYYYY HAPPPPYYYY..
this song gets better the more times you listen to it, how could it not get better? it's the Maestro back @ it again, can't wait to hear more cutz from spirit on a mission.
It's a pleasure to see Hermann Rarebell with Francis Burchholz playing with Mickaël Schenker. I hope to ear one day a double album with MSG songs and Scorpions songs inside :-D
Michael has still got it....great guitar solo!
Nice stuff, it's good to see that rock n roll music still lives! Hail from Brazil, tamo junto.
Great new song guys! Nice to see a real video not shot on a phone. Can't wait for Toronto show April 22nd.
dieter schanzer Obsession is in my top 5 Greatest Records EVER. Hot n' Ready, also in my top 5 songs EVER. I am not arguing with you, please don't take it that way. Sounds great!!!! Can't wait to hear it live!!!!
Schenker is a master at creating tension and relesse
I really like this middle solo. I do think his UFO solos were just incredible but this guy is always amazing with certain phrasings that just kill me. There are many great guitarists but, in my opinion, no one quite like Michael Schenker. Just saw Temple of Rock in Newton, NJ and it was absolutely phenomenal. Don't miss him on this short US tour!

yeah it's so much better and you go to the concert already being familiar with the songs, it's a whole new dynamic
Your mix supporting my wishes of appetite on listening English Rock music and make feel so as gifted thankfully.
Schenker ..immer eine Garantie für TOP--Musik...und hier mal wieder Weltklasse.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simply awesome!
Great new song. I am seeing MSG in NJ in April and I can't wait. Michael just turned 60 and he's just getting better. My guitar hero.
Ce morceau est juste excellent... sans doutes la meilleure chose entendue depuis des mois... Michael is back... again !!!

They rocked last night at M-15 Club in Corona, CA. Tore the place up!
Gegen den Schenker Michi sind die meisten Gitarristen immer noch so spannend wie ein ausgelatschter Romikapuschen, einfach genial der Kerl^^
Dougie from Motherwell living the dream man well done

Dieter you are wrong this is on par with anything he has ever done. Schenker is on fire! He is one of my biggest influences.

What Else ? A new ALBUM : SPIRIT ON A MISSION §§§§§§
Bruno from Villefranche sur mer France, see you on TOUR 2015 §
Michael, Frank Marino, Uli Jon Roth and Robin Trower, a lot of technic and soul.
Michael and Graham Bonnet really need to do one last album/tour together before age really sets in. No, they *really* do. Was this video shot in Manchester?
I'm sure I recognise bits of it.
Is that Herman Rarebell and Francis Bucholz
Wow, Schenker has lost more than a step it would seem. Hard to watch him struggling like that, but that's why we have all of those awesome older tracks--in his prime he was in a class by himself. I think I'll go listen to Assault Attack again and wash this unfortunate experience from my memory...
wow youre a total dumbass incredible buffoon =probably another person who cannot play like him and never will ...
If you think he's struggling, go watch the Temple of Rock DVD. He still blows minds live, but, as usual, he isn't anything special in the studio.
Patrick, you're entitled to your opinion. I disagree with it though. Schenker has always played within himself and served the song, rather than shredding for the sake of it. fuck yeah
greeeaaaat
Классно!
That lick at 2:38 is fire.
Brill
If this is a product of your left t-shirt sleeve (german interview Gitarre&Bass 01-2015), let it be a real long one.
That is your opinion but his solos sound as good as ever.
i love you michael but i cant dig your dean tone... is that pickup reversed? go back with gibson
i think exactly the same thing. The best sound MSG had was on "assault attack".
Fred M For me I loved the Leslie West inspired mid-range honk of the first five records (excluding the live album). I miss the 60's Gibson too.
jimmiemclovin yeah! UFO too... the gibson v, even without the wha was far superior... i think those new albums are a waste of time, and shoul be great, only if he recorded the same way he did in glory days.
segimoveisfred 100% agree would love to hear him piece the solos again like the old days...sigh. I thought they were all classics.
jimmiemclovin They are all classics, from 74 until 84. And as far as I am concerned, the first 5 studio albums, and Strangers In The Night have never been bettered.
Incredible ... Michael does a Woody Guthrie song ... it was released in 1941 .
omo bajen los precios de los pisos va a morir mucha gente... pero mucha. Alá es grande
Schenker's a HERO of mine BUT his solos are not to my liking these days...give me the Obsession/1978/79 Michael Schenker now he was absolutely ON FIRE and in a class of his own.....just listen to Obsession folks - awesome compared to this tosh...sorry..

Flametopology Thats fair as is Marks point....actually the song is growing on me but i just dont dig his solos on new stuff...but yes he's a legend
dieter schanzer Obsession was the first UFO album I was turned onto in college. The tone of that guitar playing blew me away. "You Don't Fool Me" is still one of my favorite songs today. Rachel Kuperberg i did, and youre correct, that magic is still there....agree 100% re u dont fool me....awesome track...thx for making me listen again
dieter schanzer I am glad you listened again. Schenker is a true legend....in my opinion just as or even more important the EVH. He was doing these long flowing leads nad fierce yet sensible rhythms before Eddie. And through ups and downs and personal turmoil, Schenker kept on playing.
