    The prices are not high Yves, we are facing the same problem also of the haggling as Egyptians in the local shops like Khan El Khalili because they sell a little and depend on the haggling to make profits, so 200 pounds is not too much. The thing is Yves travel timing to Egypt economy wise was not good. This timing coincided with the devaluation of currency by half. The pound value went from 16 EGP to around 25 EGP / $. It was rising. And as of writing this comment (2023) EGP value has gone to 30EGP / 1$. So in general prices were changing these past few months and a lot of places did not have time to update and change prices. The price you paid for Kofta is fair around that area. Sometimes in doubt you can say that "i can see price written here is 30EGP". Normally people will be polite and explain that that was old price etc.

    The food prices in the background are old prices due to the devaluation of the Egyptian pound. He gave you the new price. He is a good man. Do not worry. This is common in Egypt. You find prices on the menu that differ from what the seller says because of the high prices and nothing more.

    Don't buy souvenirer without price tag... you will end up paying 10x the real price... and that will be "a zpeciell prize vor you my friend"

    • @KinoYves
      @KinoYves  2 года назад

      Strange advice. There is almost never a price tag, and when there is one, the price is set to 10 times the price.

    • @cscs9192
      @cscs9192 2 года назад +1

      @@KinoYves The reason there is no price tag is to adapt the price after how "naive" the customer appear. If they have price tagged them 10x from beginning, that would have scared even You from buying. You seems to have difficulty taking advises. At least take this advice and stop buying souvenir from such markets.

      @@cscs9192 it's funny, you think that your advice is very smart, but you advise me to buy my souvenirs in places where there are price tags, and in those places, it's gonna be even more expensive.
      So you advise me to pay even more, for the exact same thing...
      I confirm, your advise is very strange.

      @@KinoYves Sure, You seems to have the skills for bargaining. So I guess you will manage to get it cheaper than tagged price 😌... good luck

    Yves you always repeat that people are nice because of the camera, I don't agree with you people in Egypt are over nice but you are not used to that in your country, be fair and appropriate the kindness of people in the Arab world, don't judge the people from the sellers attitude these people could irritate you by insisting on making a sale.

    I have to say you paid way too much for that key of Life, I used to work in Khan ai khlili and this piece is worth no more than 15 or 25 Egyptian pound, if you still there or you planning on going there again you should return this item and take your money back. This is unbelievable how greedy those people are. 😡
